Finally simple to the point and they're not creatures 😂
Just to emphasize: planeswalkers, they are NOT creatures.
As a new player, this was extremely helpful 👏
Cheers, Code_Villain_ - Thanks for letting us know ❤Enjoy the game, and destroy your mates 😆
Literally used this video as a reference in the middle of a game. Clear, concise, and 100% helpful. Thanks! :)
Beautiful ❤❤❤
This is the best explanation I’ve found. Thanks!
Cheers, SoundwaveWill!!! Go forth and Planeswalker :)
@@7LandHandplaneswalker? I hardly know her
Based @deadxbyxdawn306
I started playing magic again after more than 20 years of not playing it. I had no idea how to use these plansewalkers and I'm happy you did such a simple explanation. Thanks.
I have been trying to figure this out. Thank you for being so direct and explaining it in a way that doesn't try to hit some 8 minute mark. Thank you for helping me to learn this wonderful game.
the only thing that was missed was how Domri could NOT use his -2 ability if he only has 1 loyalty. I know when I first started I did wonder that
this is the most straight forward and best mtg tutorial video ever made
Thanks Seb - I dearly wish we could make more :) - David
thank you. very easy to understand. fuck all the other videos that are like 9 minutes long.
Super helpful, now I know why the -8 abilities are so broken: you gotta get the planeswalker up to +8 to even use it, and typically with only one +1 per turn.
Nice thanks for the simple explanation
Most straightforward, clear, and to the point video on them. Ty❤️🙏
Thank you for the simple video.
Thanks for the comment, Vincent. We hope you’re enjoying Magic 😊👍
Kick-Ass video mate nice and simple thank you
Glad we could help, TOA91 :)
My god, after watching this video, there’s one major question that still boggles my mind!
Are planeswalker’s creatures?
No no no
🤣
Thanks! Embarrassed to admit that I’ve been playing heavily for a couple months now, but I’ve been ignoring figuring out planeswalkers. You made it simple to understand! Maybe I’ll try one out at the RavRem prerelease this weekend.
Thanks for a fast explanation. I'm still unclear if you can spend past your loyalty on plane walkers. Like if you have 4 loyalty and an ability says -5 can you do that ability (knowing the planeswalker will die) or would you have to have 5 loyalty in order to do that?
The loyalty points your planeswalker has are the only one’s you can spend. You have to build their loyalty over several turns. That’s what the +1, +2 etc abilities achieve.
@@7LandHand Thanks for the response! I figured it was probably that way but wanted to check if the +1 +2 stuff was just to use the big ability without it dying.
Thanks for a clear explanation of how do planeswalkers work!
You're welcome, Maksim - Glad we could help. Best of luck with your Planeswalkers :)
thanks! very helpful and straight to the point.
Thanks this video has helped me with my new helper cards that are not creatures and hope everyone is having a amazing day today.
Thanks for this. I've just picked up playing MTG Commander decks after a 25 year absence from space and this emblem thing was totally foreign to me.
Nice and concise.
i had a feeling it was like this but i wasn't 100% sure, thanks!
Thank you for explaining all of that!!!
So pretty much-
if you play any card (spell, creature or land) on your turn, and only on your turn,
you can either:
use the plus effect, or use the minus effect on a plainswalker.
You can only use one effect of a plainswalker, and only once that turn.
Yes, im using yugioh terminology. Yes i mainly play yugioh. Yes i am interested in getting into magic
You don't HAVE to play another card on your turn to use a planeswalker effect.
I hope you're enjoying the transition to Magic :)
thank you for the explaination
Awesome, thanks!
You're welcome - Happy Planeswalking...
Nice
So simple thank you
Thank you for this
Instant sub.
Thank you
You're welcome, Lorna - now go and destroy your friends with some slick planeswalker plays ;)
Sooo, are planeswalkers creatures?
ahhhhhhhhhhhh
As a standard era player. Can't stop hating planewalkers.
Appreciated
Great video, I'm just not sure about one thing:
Are Planeswalkers creatures? They are, right?
the shortest and the best explanation 👍
"... and they are not creatures..."
Tight!
That's actually wrong saying you attack the planeswalker is a kinda short cut under the understanding both players are in the know... Technically you can only attack/cast spells on the other player so way it truly plays out is you attack/cast spell on the player then choose to redirect the attack/spell to the planeswalker. Which makes a big difference when some spells on the stack won't require you to choose your target til it resolves also if the player gives himself/herself something like hexproof that will mean all the planeswalkers they have cant be targeted since you're unable to first target the player to then redirect the spell or ability.. Its a common and small mistake he made but makes a huge difference
I think that is the old rule. I saw this one. "306.7. Previously, planeswalkers were subject to a redirection effect that allowed a player to have noncombat damage that would be dealt to an opponent be dealt to a planeswalker under that opponent’s control instead. This rule has been removed and certain cards have received errata in the Oracle card reference to deal damage directly to planeswalkers.".
Thank you 😅
Do you have to tick up or down immediately as you turn start or can you do it in another phase?
OH MY GOD! ARE YOU THE OWNER OF GOODGAMESMORLEY?
I have a question.
Is it possible to have multiple planeswalker of the same type on the field but with different names?
For example:
I have "Sorin, imperipous bloodlord" (legendary planeswalker - sorin) on the field. I am allowed to have an "Sorin, grim nemesis" (planeswalker - sorin) at the same time on the field? Or do i have to sacrifice one of them?
Can I choose not to use/activate any of my Planeswalker's abilities during my turn if I don't want to?
Of course - but you rarely want to do nothing. Most of the time, you're upticking them to an ability.
@@7LandHand I have Narset, Parter of Veils which I like the Passive. Her active ability however, keeps reducing her loyalty counter so that's why I ask if I can opt not to use as I want to keep her around on the battlefield more than 3 turns.
@@Terasurn Ahh, I see. Yeah, play to the card's strengths! Narset is like an enchantment in a way - she sits there stopping card draw. Wait until you have a planeswalker you WANT to uptick and don't. You always realise after your opponent starts their turn hahah😂 - it's horrible. In short - NO, you don't have to -2 your Narset 👍
Wait are they creatures?
Got to the point didn't spend 20 min talking about other stuff and made everything easy and simple to follow. Again they're not creatures... 😆
So loyalty is their "life" and also their "cost"/"source" alright.
still actually missing the info for what i came. Can you play ability with -7 loyalty for example even if your loyalty is less than the number in this case 7?
Can you buy a coffee costing $7 if you only have $2
@@7LandHand THX, thats one side. The other was that Its like HP you can take more dmg than you have HP
@@krystofvavra9370it’s not toughness, it’s an amount of loyalty counters. So it’s closer to currency like the money example above, you need 7 loyalty counters to pay the cost, not take 7 damage
Can u use the same move over and over again
i'm halfway through the vid and i have to ask...
are planeswalkers creatures?
...you need to see the rest of the video before you'll get the answer.
So are they creatures of not?!
but, is it a creature? :P
sorry, so, are they creatures? 😂
I'm not sure if the guy mentioned it but just to clarify, these are not creatures
@@Michael-fc7no Haha I know
@@frostbackgarage9289 ;)
But are they spells?
Are plainswalkers creatures!!????
What happened to this channel? Just died 5 years ago
The only thing that bothered me is you saying "dice" when you're only holding a single die.
🤣That's it - reshoot!! I'll call up Aaron 😄
If thats the only thing which bothers you, then it's a decent video!
@@7LandHand Well, I was going to report to the gaming authorities, but I suppose I can let this off with a warning. X3
@@Ryusuta 😆
i'm still not 100% clear whether planeswalkers are creatures or not
Is their only one plainswalker per deck
