      Yes, I agree. We were looking last fall for a camper and we are really happy we waited until this year. We needed a table that sits 4 people and really wanted bunk beds too. We also looked at the E16BH, but it felt just a little too cramped. We are hoping to take some longer trips next year. Thanks!

    Be sure to fill your water tank completely full so that the bleach mixture can contact all of the sidewalls and the roof of the water tank that holds the fresh water. You want to be sure that all surfaces within the water storage tank come in contact with the bleach water so as to sanitize that tank completely. Then turn on your pump, and run water through all hoses and faucets. Turn those off, top off your freshwater tank, and let the whole thing sit for at least 12 hours and preferably 24 hours, before draining completely. After draining, completely filling filling with fresh water again, and then running fresh water through all the valves, faucets and shower hoses for an extended period of time to get the bleach water out of that system will complete the flush out the system. Now drain the tank completely, one last time, and fill with your fresh water that you will use for your first camping trip.

    Here's how I add the right amount of bleach to the tank for sanitizing: figure out the right amount of bleach for your tank (My 20 FBS has approximately 30 gallon tank, I use 4 ounces of bleach) then pour the bleach into the hose you're going to fill the tank with. Holding the hose upright, pour it in with the funnel, then put on the Camco hose adapter, then fill the tank.

      I use a 15A adapter and just plug into a normal outlet. This is enough to run most things including the fridge. We are not able to use the air conditioning as that requires a 30A hookup. I show the adapter in this accessories video if you are interested: ruclips.net/video/1xbGZa2cctc/видео.html

    While dewinterizing in your video it looked like the two hot water valves were turned to the left, not towards the hot water heater. Just making sure as I am not hearing consistent feedback on if they should be turned towards the heater or left . Thank you!

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  3 года назад +5

      The valves are turned to the left when the camper is winterized to bypass the hot water heater. I leave them in that position while de-winterizing so that none of the antifreeze or bleach water enter the hot water heater. I don't turn them toward the heater until the process is complete.

    Thanks for posting. Can you use the antifreeze line to pump the bleach mix through your system. Can't you direct the antifreeze bypass valve to send the bleach to the water tank?

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  Год назад +1

      You could probably use that to pump the bleach mix through the system, but I don't think you can use it to send anything to the water tank. My understanding is that the bypass is to switch between the water tank and the antifreeze inlet. The pump is just past that bypass.

    Hi we are dewinterizing our E-Pro20BHS we recently purchased and going camping for the first time this weekend, this video is great! My one question is how did you remove the water filter housing? I tried unscrewing but am nervous to crack something as it’s all plastic and pex fittings. Did you just unscrew it counterclockwise?

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  3 года назад

      There is a plastic tool that came with ours that slides around the outside (from the bottom) and fits snugly at the top. Applying a little bit of pressure using that should loosen it. I believe you do turn counterclockwise.

    • @MMorris-fs5rj
      @MMorris-fs5rj Год назад +1

    Hi there, it's really a nice video and thanks for sharing. I do have a question: my RV is similar to yours so my question is: what is the left side valve for? I saw you turned it left side. What does this mean during sanitizing process? Thanks.

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  3 года назад

      There is a valve that controls whether water is pulled from the fresh water tank or the antifreeze inlet. You want to pull from the fresh water tank during de-winterization. I have a picture of it on our website: www.thedroesslers.com/Images/Pages/Dewinterize/waterValvesFreshWater.png

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  3 года назад +3

      You need to remove the drawer. With the drawer pulled out as far as it goes, there are 2 little black plastic pieces (one on each side) inside the track along the drawer that you need to push either up or down to get the drawer to release from the track.

  • @mpow7153
    @mpow7153 2 года назад +1

    Hi!!! I am at this stage now (minus having antifreeze in the tank as I just used air compressor + antifreeze in the drains method.) Question on the valves, to have it pull water from the fresh water tank. Is the valve handle to be parallel to the ground, when lengthwise? And then for hot water, both valve handles are aimed at the hot water tank? I can’t get my compressor to stop running (unless switch off, of course,) and it won’t get much water to the kitchen sink. It won’t shut off my itself.

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  2 года назад

      For our camper, you need to have the valve pointing up (perpendicular to the ground, not parallel) as seen in this photo: www.thedroesslers.com/Images/Pages/Dewinterize/waterValvesFreshWater.png You are correct on the hot water heater. Both valves should be pointing toward the heater like this photo: www.thedroesslers.com/Images/Pages/Dewinterize/waterValvesFillTank.png After turning on the water pump, turn on the hot water side for your sink and wait for water to come through so that the water heater is full. That might take a few minutes. Once you turn the sink off, it should turn off the water pump (there might be a small delay). If it continues to run, check for leaks or open faucets/showers.

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  4 года назад

      We do not have a video for that. One thing to make sure is that it has water in it before turning it on. We did this after dewinterization simply by opening up a hot water faucet. As long as you have water coming through, you should be good.
      Then check that the switch outside the camper where you open the hot water heater cover is on. Ours was already on. We then just turn on the electric hot water switch. It warms up pretty fast. We have not tried the gas yet.

      I don't put any anti-freeze through the shower miser when winterizing the camper so there is nothing to flush for me. For sanitizing, you could simply engage the shower miser for a bit as this water will just feed back into your fresh water tank.

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  4 года назад +3

      I bypassed the hot water tank when sanitizing our water system. The manual for the camper doesn't mention anything about the water heater so I didn't send the bleach water through it. I have found sources online (not specific to E-pro) that do include sanitizing the water heater too so it is probably ok. It has a separate drain though, so make sure you fully drain it before you start sending the fresh water through to rinse it out.

    Why not just hook up a hose to the city water connection and flush the pink antifreeze out of all faucets?

    • @thedroesslers
      @thedroesslers  2 года назад

      Since I used the water pump to pull in the antifreeze, I wanted to use the pump to pull in the fresh water to ensure all hoses get cleaned out. If you use city water hookup, the hoses by the water pump won't get flushed since the pump won't get used.

      Since I used the pump to pull in the anti-freeze when winterizing, I want to make sure the same pipes get flushed out. I think city water would catch most of them, but maybe not the ones directly connected to the pump or the pump itself.
