Lots of memories of my summers spent Middletown RI with my cousins in the early 1970's. The #beaches, Grinders (yum), The base cafeteria, movie theater. My Uncle was a Navy Tug Boat Skipper. He use to take us all over, towing barges and stuff. Prudence Island, Fall River. We even did overnighters and slept in the crews quarters. Funny, I was the only one of that group who joined the Navy. Most my cousins went in the Army! Good luck at the Packy!!

Oh darn Matt, I was just up in your neck of the woods over Memorial Day in Portsmouth, Bristol, and Newport and was unaware of the release of the vintage Quint can. I am a huge Jaws fan and would have loved to grab a can. My favorite part of the scene is Hooper crushing his paper cup.🤣. But I am happy to report we made it to Ragged Island for a few cold ones. I’m so jealous you live in such a beautiful spot. Cheers.🍺🇺🇸
OMG!!! I was just bike riding down in the Warren Bristol area yesterday with Mrs Street! We love it down there! And I’ve been to many places in the greater Newport in Jamestown area! Where did you come up from? Hope you had a great time, sounds like you did. Cheers 🦈🍺
@@matthewstreet1961 - I live near Philly, but a good friend recently retired in Portsmouth so we will be visiting regularly. My wife and I usually visit Maine, but now RI is in play. I also went through the naval school many moons ago, so I was able to visit the old “campus.” We had a wonderful visit including a private sunset cruise in Newport. Just beautiful.
This is a fun video. Still, it looks risky to be opening a beer while behind the wheel! Maybe the law is different in Rhode Island, but in Illinois, it is against the law to have an open beer inside any vehicle.
Actually, Eric, it was all Theater my friend. I had bought the beer and had it stored in the back of the car. I filmed most of the video driving around. Then, at some point I pulled over on a quiet parkway, took out one beer and completed the video. But I want you to know I didn’t really take a drink of it. I kind of pretended, then I dumped out the rest and threw the can away. So at no time was I ever driving around with an open container of booze. Ha ha! 😎👍🍺🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻🦈🦈🦈
