    I have a family member with mental health issues. Car camping and the escape that comes with it has always been our best medicine. The ability to escape and leave it all behind, even for a short time, is so important. Even though this was a 13 minute GMC commercial, I appreciate the raw openness that you expressed. Our public lands are what we are all about. I look forward to your next commercial.

    That was an incredible video. It's nice to see GMC trying to do its best to make it more than an ordinary pick-up truck and giving more room to customize the truck to convert it into an adventure vehicle that takes you to nowhere.

    I gotta admit that I almost fast-fwd to the next video... wasn't feeling in the mood for a 13-minute GMC truck commercial, but I'm glad I stuck around. That was a different side from Michael I'd not seen before - it was raw and honest and I can totally relate as I have an adult son who's suffered from mental illness; it hit home and let me know I'm not alone. Lastly, I appreciate that take-away message... "the wilderness is for everyone, in any capacity, in any form". I wish I'd hear that said more often, as I believe everyone could benefit from a healthy dose of the outdoors. Kudos to GMS and thanks again Michael! 👏

    Super awesome video! A little over 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with major depression and an anxiety disorder. Therapy and medication work if you put in the time and effort, and part of my therapy was to get outdoors more because that was always my happy place.
    I started camping more and more but was limited in my 04 Subaru Forester, so last year I bought a truck, a 2018 GMC Canyon All Terrain diesel that had brand new KO2’s! No excuses now! I have now taken solo adventures into the Cascades of Central Oregon and Oregon’s coastal range. And As I’ve become more knowledgeable, gain more equipment, and spend time in more remote places, my mental health gets better and better. Overlanding has been a game-changer and I’m looking forward to all the new adventures!

    Expert Adventurers? I’m sure they are great people but this is not why I joined OB. The premise behind this “commercial” really smells. Beautiful cinematography no doubt about it. However, I’m a GM/Jeep guy and inserting the corporate world into OB is a huge misstep in my opinion. It’s a turn off and it’s not necessary. I’m really disappointed.

    • @glennkoenig6078
      @glennkoenig6078 Год назад +6

      I respectfully disagree. The star of the ad was the location and the message of getting out there, the GMC truck was secondary. The truck was just one means to "get there". OB was not featured, Michael was only portrayed as just one member of the group in this adventure and I'm OK with that.

    • @Tail_Dragger
      @Tail_Dragger Год назад

      @@glennkoenig6078we will agree to disagree. Multiple posts on OB IG have been posted leading up to the GMC commercial’s release. The GMC commercial was uploaded to the OB YT channel. I’d like for someone to define exactly what constitutes an “expert adventurer”.

    Although well-produced, these types of videos are too synthetic for me. Clothes look new and clean. Vehicles look like they get cleaned every morning for the day's PR shots.
    Besides, the Chevy ZR2 is the better version of the two vehicles. Cheaper, with larger tires, and still comes with the options that matter for overlanding.
