  • You see it all the time. people saying "buy my catapults they're super accurate" or "buy one of my catapults and you'll shoot amazing" or "you can light matches with my catapults"
    You know what i mean..... well the truth is its the person thats shooting it that matters and not the frame itself.
    Heres a simple video showing that a stick off a tree can perform the same as any expensive frame.........
    Its practice, time and dedication that makes you accurate not splashing out on all the top gear !!!!

    My favourite slingshot is one I made out of 2 eye bolts and a small piece of 20mm box steel. And a heap of duct tape. It doesn't look pretty but I've took hundreds of pigeons out with it. You're bang on the money there. Cannot buy accuracy, its learned and earned. Great info John.good man

    At the start of the video I thought you'd conclude that the custom made catapult would be the more accurate one, as this would help your online business. How wrong was I :) Fair play John for your honesty. All the best!

    Love the honesty... especially when you could've taken advantage of the situation to sell your own customs!!!

    That's very honest and honourable not pushing your catty onto potential newcomers that watch this video and just plain state that its the shooter not necessarily the equipment. Liking your chanel more john. I have just got into catapults/slingshot and am practising to oneday compete alongside you and fellow shooters.

    I started getting into catapults recently and all 3 of my starter frames were ott gypsy style catapults and I had the technique down but I could never find a good reference point to hit the target consistently so I decided to treat myself to the ppmg to see if I would have any luck shooting ttf and on the first 10 shots with it I hit the spinner 8/10 times. it’s definitely just finding a frame that suits the shooter whether it be cheap or expensive it doesn’t matter, great vids John big fan 👍

    The guy that tells you expensive frames are more accurate are usually trying to sell you something you do not need. Simple fact, the frame does nothing more than hold the bands as long as it fits the shooter. The rest is up to the shooter. PERIOD. Good on you John for not being the guy that lets his wallet infringe on his integrity. You are a rare breed, well done mate.

    Nice honest video, in west midlands any old school midnight walkers (moochers) will tell ya , you can shot any natty with experience. Wood natty is easy to replace if you need to get rid off sharpish like. A wood natty can take out most targets depending on target area regardless of ammo, bands,chains or tubes.

    Ahahah spot on mate!! The biggest difference is in our head, the only way to buy accuracy is by training!! Although I also sofer of " good looking" Slingshot desease... Is what I say to myself every time I buy a new catty " this one will make me better!!" I know Im shetting myself lol

  • @brujero13

    Well spoken John, you are far more honest than some of your American competitors. Personally I'd always choose the natural fork over the fancy metal fork

  • @zimmer651
    @zimmer651 8 лет назад +3

    My advice is practice on a cheap one, then buy a PPSG or a PPMG as you don't want to have fork hit marks on your expensive slingshot. If you decide you want to sell your expensive slingshot you will get near on as much as you paid for it, providing there are no fork hit marks. If you watch the video on here where they are made, (Peter Hogans castings) you will then appreciate how much work goes into making one these brilliant slingshots.

    Yes John, but you could shoot with 2 matches and a hair band and a plastic BB and still hit the can, l need all the help I can get, hence I've purchased one of your PPSG ,

    So that one you made out of the stick do you use that all the time? Or do you have a preferred one that you have bought that you rather use? Myself I'd rather buy one that's decent compact and with a little ass behind it. even though you get the same accuracy out of both. but like you said each to his own whenever someone feels comfortable with I guess

  • @sharpshooterjd
    @sharpshooterjd 9 лет назад +1

    Interesting test. I would love to see it done on something a little harder to hit. Maybe pencils, cards, bottle caps or something similar. I would think the improved ergonomics would make it a lot more consistent and definitely more precise. If only because you hand is in the same place every time and you can focus just on the target. Cool vid though! Josh
