inspiring stuff. decided im tired of destroying the earth by buying shipped and farmed meat from miles away and want to move towards more sustainable eating via hunting. thanks for the video!
Been away from the uk about 3 years. This video becons me back to my true love, the countryside. I bet survival trainning in the forces should pack a catapult. Handy little tool.
Big ups! Just ordered myself a Wasp slingshot for the purpose of hunting small game here in Herefordshire. Love watching others do it but there's not too many on RUclips who do. Love the video, and please keep making them! Out of curiosity how long roughly did it take you to get good enough to hunt?
Hi mate thanks for your comment, and its great ur getting into it too 👍 it depends only the person really mate but as soon as ur hitting targets consistently it may take a week it may take months bit of practice every day and ul pick it up quickly and it get pretty addictive 😅 👍
We all have our own way of skinning rabbits and theres nothing wrong with yours. I tie the back legs to a branch, start skinning at the knees and work my way towards the head. Same result, just a different method. Waiting on my new Enzo edition Wasp to arrive and hopefully I'll be bagging up in no time. Will be mostly pigeons and maybe the odd grey squirrel, as rabbits have become very scarce here lately.
good stuff. am sure therewas a puff ball on that sheep field. early bird catches the worm. i was late got to my mush fields, woman was coming off with puff balls. she sells um to local pub resturant. av seen you now with i sure 3 diff pouches. mine just bust over 12 year old. got 3 diferent new ones cannot get on wi um. so for everyone reading when u get a pouch u like grab a bunch so you have them spare. and question is can you shoot with any pouches, and whats your preference.
Good hunting- nice to watch. If I may allow myself to give you a piece of advice, I would suggest using rubber gloves to clean them. I also cleaned them with bare hands before- until I noticed a tapeworm cyst in one of them. It doesn't happen very often but one in a few hundreds has a parasitic cyst. If the cist burst whilst you deal with the rabbit, the microsize tapeworm scolex from the cist may go under your fingernails, then to your food, then to you and develop adult form in your body. Whilst coccidiosis from rabbits is relatively safe, tapeworm may be dangerous- in extreme cases developing a cyst in the brain (that very often is misdiagnosed as a cancer). Better safe than sorry. It of course dying in 60 Celsius and above so is safe to eat, but the cleaning process is crucial.
Thanks good advice 👍 I have had ones with the tape worm cyst before and i usually cook them ones for the dog, although I know it would be perfectly safe to eat when cooked it's still just a little off putting .
@@geodiecarnivore I also don't eat rabbit with the cyst - just for the additional safety. My point was to avoid having it under fingernails when the cyst will disintegrate under the nails. Believe it or not, after I found it for the first time and did my research about the tapeworm life circle, I am always using gloves and have the cleanest fingernails of all the moochers in the entire world.
@@geodiecarnivore yeah tidy mate, I've only been trying my own for about 8 months , but defo the way forward, have you tried the KBC band yet ? Unreal elastic mate,
@@geodiecarnivore to be honest mate it's all class, you shoot a slightly heavier set up to me , but the KBC .8 with the 11mm steel is devastating 😂, I shoot the .75 with 8mm leads and 9.5 steel and it is a great hunting set up for me pal 👍
Good video mate 9:35

About time someone put up a video of proper meat harvesting and showing "A" method of skinning. Nice one, not for vegans eh?
Good rabbit shot
Another cracking vid pal , judt wondering do you tie your own band sets ?
Thanks mate yes I tie my own but buy ready made band's sometimes when I want to try a new elastic before I buy a large roll of it 👍
