some of your bettas had like a lots of white rings into their faces for instance at 4:13 would u tell me what those are? my betta has the same thing and im was never able to tell if it was harmless or not
Over the last 3 years I've been in contact with breeders from Asia like Thailand and Singapore. I have learned that they can be on anything but it will required more care the smaller the tank is. I have one on Fluval 5 gals, one on 2.5 gals and one in a big base. I have found that my female on the base is happier and healthier than 2.5 gals with a lot of natural elements and definitely the Fluval 5 gals sucks, bad water movement and filtration.
3 months ago I moved my make dumbo betta, Pretty Boy Floyd, to a planted ten gallon from a 4.8 gal cube . I thought he would be more happy, active- but instead he hides behind the filter or under the growing pathos roots. Some days he doesn’t even want to come out to eat. It breaks my heart. I’m failing him. I removed the planted light- and he started coming out more. He has tank mates because when I first got him I accidentally left guppy fry in tank and when I finally got them all out he started hiding more. He has 3 guppy fry, 2 African dwarf frogs and 4 ghost shrimp ( one might be pregnant) and sometimes I’ll add a mystery snail or two to clean the substrate in between gravel vacs. But I don’t leave them in because they get huge. I’m about to set up another ten with ugf- I’ve baffled the shrimp filter and tiny hob filters on this tank and that helped bit I think this tank is overstocked and I’m having to do water changes 2-3 x week. I don’t think he likes that either. What else am I missing? I’d like his next home to be his last and happy home because I’m running out of space for aquariums 😱😭
I'm looking to start a tank but I want to know as much as I can about setting up the right environment. You mentioned that betas come from "dark water" or water with high level of tannins. What does this mean for light values? In other words, what is the best amount of light? Low, high, and yes/no on a timer? Ideally, I want an 8 gallon tank to be established with some community fish before I add in a beta.
I found it hard to feed Bettas in mixed groups. They're supposed to eat just a little, but the other fish needed a lot more food otherwise they'd pick on each other. So then he would end up eating way more than he needed. Every time he had bloat, I'd put him into a hospital tank and would treat him and fast him. But the same thing kept on repeating and in the end he failed to recover from one of them. My question to all of you is, how do you usually feed your Betta mixed tanks? I kind of want to go for one again but am afraid I'd kill off another Betta.
@@HELENGodLoves Exactly. How to make sure they all get fed the amount they need, since different fish need different amounts and even types of food. But they all go for each other's food, lol.
If I have 1 or 2 bettas in a community tank, I catch them every other day...put them in their own floating plastic container, feed them their food then the other fish in the tank, leave them in there probly 15 or so mins, then release. Absolute pain in the ass but at least it ensures they're not over or underfed
I think it depends case by case, I’d recommend looking it up tbh and being very specific. I’m having roughly the same problem right now as I’m researching for the future lol
I’m thinking about getting a betta as my first fish but I’m not sure about monthly cost. Any ideas? And would I need anything other than a tank, filter, heater, substrate/gravel, decor, dechlorinator, and food? I read that a siphon is good to have. Would that be worth it? Thank you! I have no idea what I’m getting myself into lol 😂

I have them in big bowls, change the water every 2 days sometimes I’ve waited for the 3rd day, and I always ad a few drops of the solution the provider recommended and always have a strainer on top of the bowl, I they are big bowls, my fish are happy I have 3 of them and Put their bowls together 😅
Thanks so much for all your betta tips! now I have 15 gorgeous male bettas and I prepared bigger tanks to make them happier. So excited to pair them with some of my females.
My plants died at those higher temperatures. Which plants do you recommend for 80°F ?
First lol! I love bettas! Keep it up!
expert advice from an expert
Thanks for the tips! Gladly I could check them all off except tank mates. Maybe I should look into some nano fish :)
My male Halfmoon has a 5 gallon tank! He has a filter, a castle, and some jellyfish that he likes to hide in! His name is Rashee!
I bought 4 in collage and kept them in separate glass bowels, one jumped out before I knew they jumped. Lost him, the others ended up in my 80 gallon, but got picked on, so had to move 1 on and gave the other 2 up
have wonderful day 😊
Beautiful betas in this video wow
Hell yeah man great video
I feed my betta 3-4 pellets per 2 days and she loves it😊
some of your bettas had like a lots of white rings into their faces for instance at 4:13 would u tell me what those are? my betta has the same thing and im was never able to tell if it was harmless or not
thank you for the tips😊
Bettas have the highest intelligence of any fish ❤
Does betta will be influence by the vibration of the filter pump?
Awesome video!
Good tips thanks
Over the last 3 years I've been in contact with breeders from Asia like Thailand and Singapore. I have learned that they can be on anything but it will required more care the smaller the tank is. I have one on Fluval 5 gals, one on 2.5 gals and one in a big base. I have found that my female on the base is happier and healthier than 2.5 gals with a lot of natural elements and definitely the Fluval 5 gals sucks, bad water movement and filtration.
Thank you so much
Bettas are amazing
Awesome video
I would also do frozen food , it is the best for them my brothers fish is sick from the pellets
And if your filter is open put a cloth on it I had a betta fish jump out where the filter is
Great looking betta! Nice video
6:56 I LOVE THAT WHITE FISH SO MUCH
3 months ago I moved my make dumbo betta, Pretty Boy Floyd, to a planted ten gallon from a 4.8 gal cube .
Ideally, I want an 8 gallon tank to be established with some community fish before I add in a beta.
thanks for the information 👍
Nice video!
Gorgeous fish! You do such an amazing job! Love your videos 💙🐠
mine in with guppies n tetras, hate seeing betas in those tiny cups in the stores :(
I found it hard to feed Bettas in mixed groups.
I don't know... Like people say it's only okay if a ten gallon tank to have two females but if there is more how to make sure they all get fed
Thank u very helpful
Thank you for the tips! Great video, I got 6 out of 7 right!
You betta work 💃🏼

hello sir how to take care about the baby betta
i knew everything in this video but watched just bc i enjoy your vids! keep making great videos man and good luck on your breeding projects
This video was very helpful. I’ve a question, being a beginner and having a betta in a small tank. How often should I change the water?
Y❤❤❤❤
I think it depends case by case, I’d recommend looking it up tbh and being very specific. I’m having roughly the same problem right now as I’m researching for the future lol
Please make a video on growth of your altum angels. Its been 1 year now i guess. Thanks
I have had 2 bettas and one died from over feeding i guess i didnt know that until now
v nice fish thanks
