Agreed, I have an 85 raiding resto druid, holy paladin and now this disc priest and the priest seemed kind of confusing about what order to use skills and with what frequency. The step by step breakdown of when you used heals and why you used them was helpful. Like when you said I'm using a flash heal to bridge into greater heal to stabilize the tank, but i really dont want to be casting greater heal ever if i can avoid it. That kind of thought process explanation was helpful ;)
Note: When you get to the point of mana not beeing an issue, drop the spirit and go for crit. So at that point you would reforge haste/crit insted of spirit.
One remark; if you're progressing fights, it's faaaaaaar more beneficial to swap your haste bonus by reduced cooldown on shadowfiend from 5 mins => 3 mins. Once your fights are on "farm mode", than certainly mana isn't an issue. A small but quite important remark you need to take account with.
@@janjan55555Swap to what? Im not sure i got it. Also i look at thing like this. If mana is not an issue, then healing is not an issue, if healing is not an issue then you want to do more dps thus more haste makes you do more damage.

Wipes coz healers are oom are rare in our group atlest. Most likely there will be few fail interrupts where no amount of mana will save us for example. And ppl staying in aoe and shit will most likely get one shoted anyway.
@@hoplit6764 Understandable, however having healed in cataclysm I noticed that timing your big cd's is so important unlike wotlk where running with 2 trinkets gets you quasi endless mana (Trial of the Crusader trinkets) Mana is actually something valuable to consider, so less room for "fuck ups". The amount of times healers needlessly spend mana to save people in progress raiding frustrates many of us.

Is it OK to use POH without Archangel active? Lets say there is a big group damage incoming but I wasn't able to proc Archangel before, is it OK to spam POH anyway?
@@chowus Yes, coz once the damage is happening you dont have time to build your archangel if you have not been planing for it ahead, which you should. Its even ok to get one holy fire and use archangel with 1 stack if you just dont have time to stack it to 5.
Watching your mana in the fight just confuses the hell out of me. I have similar gear if not a touch better.. and I’m going OOM so quick topping the raid.. I need to use more PoH more and less ‘heal/FH/GH’ I know but my HPS is around 9. How do you select which 5 raid members get hit with PoH? Is it in the raid frames setup? Could you possible share your Vudu? Maybe a little guide on it would be a cool video! Thanks for the vid btw, helpful!
Vuhdo import string is in the description of the vid. Im using POH with mouseover macro. Some of the mouseover macros are in a pinned comment. POH is healing all party members within i think 40 yards. So you have to cast POH in every group seperately coz 1 group is 1 party. As for mana, you have to time your stuff. Potion of concentration, shadowfiend, mana hymn, use gear with more spirit, dont spam FH and GH without good reason. Defolt to smite and holy fire, use POM and POH, refresh your 4 set bonus. Remember that you are not the only healer in the raid. Slow down, let others top someone... On a long fight like cho gall ill pop shadowfiend early coz ill get cd back in last phase again.

@shield will always be soaked up , i would only disagree there since its only 15 sec duration now instead of 30sec like in wrath sometimes depending who ur shielding it isnt gonna pop
@@deceivedonegaming6105 I mean Divine Aegis will be soaked if you precast POH in anticipation of the damage. If you randomly throw it out ofc it wont get soaked.
For big aoe hits like crackle. Is it worth using prayer of healing before the damage goes out for the shield even if people are at max HP? Or would that waste the initial healing component. I've been waiting for big aoe damage to go out and then casting prayer of healing on the 2 raid groups in 10 man, but wasn't sure whether that was the correct play.
@@Tiredcabbage Only reason why you wouldnt want to precast POH is to save mana. Otherwise why not, you will get shield up on everybody and damage will be reduced then you will continue to cast your POH.
@@hoplit6764 It's crazy mana inefficient and doesn't really make sense: health bars in Cata are huge, you don't need to pre-shield people to survive AoE, and the shields themselves are tiny unless you stack them. You'd need to pre-cast 4 PoH just to approximate 1 normal PoH's worth of healing.
@@Brian-rt5bb Im now at the point where im lowering my spirit coz i cant spend all of my mana and going with haste/crit... if you look back at my nef normal kill where im in blues and its a first week of raiding im not preshielding anything with POH. Now, its different story. I will even spam PWS like in Wotlk on some fights. But thats all gear depended.
Ofc but there can be one down side as i said in one of the comments and that is, if you are using tank to proc your shield just for the sake of it you may get yourself in a situation where you want to save your tank with the shield but you wont be able to coz of the weakened soul debuff.
I got WA for rapture, so yeah in perfect world you could. Now its more question about prio. On a new fight a lot of stuff is going on and you can only do so much with your focus. There is one down side of procking rapture for the sake of it. Lets say you do it on a tank, which is the easyer option and that tank gets slammed hard 5 or 6 sec later. Now there is real emergeny situation where you would want to use PWS but you have weakened soul debuff on a tank coz you tryed to proc your rapture.

A shield every 12s is not mana inefficient due to Rapture. Use it.

Wouldn’t you want to use pws at least every 12 seconds to get rapture on cd? Allows for more prayer spam as well
