Awesome coverage Steve. Great to be able to see everything by model instead of jumping around. Some of those widebody kits are sweet!
Thank you! It's fun to make chassis specific videos like this when possible. This was the only chassis this year in high enough numbers to really warrant a standalone video. I was surprised by the lack of new Z's and Civic Type R's...there were some but no one is making wild aero and fun stuff like that for them like they are for the GR86/BRZ.
Hell yeah brother! So excited so see your coverage of TAS 2024!
Thanks for watching! Full recap video is processing now...hopefully it finishes up and I can make it live in the next hour or so. It's a big one!
I’m literally loving all of them Each kit for the second gen 86s/brz all look great and have different style for people on different taste! They really look amazing and it’s crazy to see how much work goes into each, very beautiful!🔥
Couldn't agree more! There's a style for every taste and occasion. Love seeing what the aftermarket is doing with the chassis. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment!
Great video! Whats the first body kit? The one where the rear fenders go around the tailights
Silk Blaze is the name of the company. I was just on their site but didn't see it listed yet.
I want the stock body Aimgain GTS body kit. The front fascia and diffuser is sick! ❤
It's a good look for sure! I really like the GTS front bumper.
I do have to go there next year Thank You Bro.!!!
Definitely worth the trip! Thanks for watching!
That stock body Aimgain 86 with the type x style wing and the brushed aluminum lips is all I would ever need. Maybe I'd slap some ganador style mirrors on it. What a timeless build though.
I just realized it had different wheels on each side of the car! Haha. Yeah, what a clean, stylish look. That bumper is super good. With the size of the front bumper opening though, I think it needs some slightly visually heavier sides and rear wing...or I need a better look from further away.
100% on the mirrors - anything is likely better than the stock ones (just saw the Shibata car has Group A style mirror on it).
Interesting how most of them (with an aftermarket tail light) have the Valenti Jewels. They are the best ones currently available, after all.
Wonder if Valenti's marketing department is aggressively reaching out to vendors displaying a GR86? I can't imagine a ¥100,000 taillight set is the first thing they'd spend money on. They're cool but stock tails ain't that bad. Haha
Love the BRZ/86 focused videos! Great coverage, much appreciated! In your opinion, are there any clean looking non-wide rear bumpers out there? Seems like most kits are keeping the stock bumper in the rear, or just adding a diffuser on bottom.
Hmm, not that I'm aware of. Like you said, it's like a lip kit or full aero at the moment. Not sure of a chill aftermarket rear bumper. Maybe Voltex?
TAS is here!!!!
Full recap video is almost done processing!
That Kazama build looks so good.
Carbon work done by CF Lab. So nutty and over the top. I love it.
Nice variety and some uniqueness
There's a style for every situation and taste. So many options for the platform!
First! (And for good reason) also the SARD low rise version is my favourite wing although I’m only 8min into this video 😝
Wide mount Voltex might still be my pick for a lip kit car. Exciting to still see new aero parts being released/shown this year. Good future for the chassis!
Nice 👍. But I would like to see extra pics (different angles) for all of the cars 🚗.
So hard to get far enough away and to get a clear shot with all the people around; did my best! Thanks for watching!
At the Varis booth, there was a 2023 WRX in red with some mild aero and paint modifications. Did you get any footage of that car, and if so can you show that in your next video please?
I'm sorry, I didn't take any video of that one or any on display. They're quite popular here though - you see quite a few new WRXs on the road. If I can make it out to Varis's next open house, I'll get some shots of it.👍
@BRICKHOUSESPL Awesome, thank you. Have a good week.
I personally love the adro and aimgain bodykit
Both are solid choices!
2024 elegance
Thanks for watching!
Love the Cleib cars. Interesting to see they put a FA24 in their 1st gen car. The Kazama Auto carbon car is wild, I assume it's a drift car from the front wheel offset and rear mount radiator, but I agree with you the aero has Time Attack vibes, especially the wing. So what's your favourite GR86 of the show, Steve?
Oh geez, I looked right by that! They even had the helpful label pointing it out! Haha. That's super neat. First gen chassis + FA24 (if they get cheap) + boost sounds like a really fun combo.
You're right, the Kazama full carbon car is a drift car. They just put the wing on for the show. CF Lab did all the carbon work. I asked off camera and forget to note it in the video.
Oh man, that's a tough one. I really like certain aspects of different kits, but to choose one from the show, it's probably the Kazama CF car. Reminds me of the full carbon Bandoh GT86 - so functional and over the top. Favorite GR86 not at the show, Voltex full aero version. Hard to top that in my opinion.
When do you guys get one???? Haha
@@BRICKHOUSESPL I'm dying to buy a GR86 but we kind of blew the budget on the GR Corolla Morizo Edition and blowing up the engine in the E90 M3 didn't help either lol. But I will buy a GR86 one of these years, because I absolutely love the styling and how focused a driver's car these are. It may well be the last affordable driver's car.
@@speedacademydave hahaha, the BMW's get you even when you're not working on them! It seems so weird to say, but, if I was a regular dude who was limited to two cars, wanted new car reliability, and had a wife willing to drive manual, I think a GR86 and GR Corolla would be my dream garage. Toyota is absolutely killing it on these things.
Have they come up with an oiling issue fix yet?
I saw Tomei had the baffle plate but wasn't the starvation issues tracked down to too much RTV or something?
That Aimgain street kit makes me want to buy a second gen just to put it on.
Haha, for sure. Such a good look!
the first white color 86, what is the name of the rear wing spoiler or brand?
Silk Blaze is the aero company so I assumed the wing(s) were theirs as well but I'm not sure.
Steve about those header’s from fujitsubo on the brz? They sell them yet for the fa24 platform?
Couldn't find it listed on their sight for the FA24, so maybe that's a FA20 model shown? I would imagine it's in the works or does the FA20 model bolt up? I know the platforms share a lot of cross compatible parts but not sure about the exhaust manifold.
The one on the board say’s Zd8. The one the underside of the car looks different. Old one does bolt on but I would imagine model specific would be better. 2L vs 2.4L. I want one (I have the catback from them) anyway I msg fujitsubo on X. Hopefully they can clear it up. Awesome video!
@@victorpajovic3148 good idea reaching out to them! Thank you!
ADRO is a Korean American aero company. I do think they manufacture in South Korea
Oh nice, thanks for pointing that out! It's a good looking widebody kit.
15:40 too bad it’s listed as a GR86 only in their website. They don’t even offer it for the BRZ. But for $2800 with the wing plus shipping it’s not a bad deal.
because gr 86 is the only one who save the legacy of brz included scion frs
Wouldn't the front bumper just bolt on to a BRZ? If it did, then you'd loose some BRZ identity but I figured the front ends were the same under the bumper.
13:39 is that a nitrous tank?!?
Looks to be a fire suppression system. That tank is likely plumbed to other areas of the car to spray in case of fire.
@@BRICKHOUSESPLoh I see haha
So many possibilities
So many directions you can take these cars. Thanks for watching!
Some of those wide bodies were works of art and a few were dreadful.
I think a rear wing looks out of place if it doesn't follow the curve of the rear end.
Yeah, there's definitely a little something for all tastes at the moment. Feels like it's the early days of Silvia's with the multitude of different small aero companies. Nowadays when looking at old magazines, you realize how many came and went. Makes you wonder how many of these will be around in the future.
wow that first one may be my favorite gr86 body kit ive seen yet
Agreed. It's pretty extreme overall with huge openings on the front bumper but, as a complete look, it's one of my favorites. Really captures loud, wide drift style.
cleib has the best cars imo
Great mix of function and style. I really like their lip kit for both models. Nice to see a smaller shop pushing the chassis forward.
Oh wow... Not a big fan of 86. But so much options in kits 😮
100% So neat seeing all the support for the platform. Feels like we're in the 90's/early 2000's and there were heaps of options for all the golden era cars.
1:55 and 3:10 anyone knows what those wheels are?
I'm pretty sure they're both Work ZR10, but the ones at 1:55 are the one piece version and, at 3:10, they're the two piece version (ZR10 2P).
@@BRICKHOUSESPL Thanks! Theese so sexy🤪
that gp sports kit is fucking awful LMAO
I appreciate the mindset around it likely saving customers ¥100,000++ versus buying aftermarket front bumper, sides, and rear bumper. Full kits are out there for those who want a full kit and this is an option for those who want to put Wisefab on a stock body car. haha
