For your 2018 journal, if you have photos from the trip or plane tickets, etc you can print them and use washi to insert them in between the pages. Might provide some color and interest to the writing and break up/section the journaling. Just an idea. I did that with an older version of a journal from before I was more creative with each page.
Ahoj, máte pěkný cestovní deník. Moje rodina si píše cestovní deníky od r. 1989, když byly děti malé. Ty první nejsou moc zdobené a i zápisky byly krátké, teď píši dlouhé zápisky a a také lepím, co kde najdu, jízdenky, vstupenky, reklamy, letáčky, také vystřihuji z časopisů texty nebo obrázky, které se týkají navštívených měst, občas něco nakreslím, lepím pohledy, píšu citáty o cestování, přírodě, básničky, někdy i mojí, lepím fotky z výletů, před nedávnem jsem teprve objevila a objednala waschi pásky a různé barevné papíry. Protože hodě fotím, dám si fotky také na DVD a vložím do deníčku, atd. Abych nemusela vozit sešity A4, mám malý notýsek, do kterého si píšu krátké zápisky, co kde jsme dělali nebo viděli, doma pak sepíšu. Tak ať se daří!
Hello, fellow Torontonian. Paper Plus Cloth was where I got my first TN, and excited on my first steps towards travel journaling. I will likely start off with my first edition as Toronto, so I can learn what works, and what doesn't for me. My fav store is Wonder Pens, carrying TN and fountain pen supplies.
Thank you for your tips! I just keep all in my bullet journal. I find it easier than having multiple journals. At the end of each month, I make my memories pages, where I record all the memorable events of the month. I enjoyed seeing your travel journal. I might make my own video about it at some point too. Thank you for inspiring me :D xoxo
I love that! Keeping it all in one journal is so helpful 🤩 Yes you definitely should, I’d love to see it!! Happy to inspire, thank you for watching and leaving such a thoughtful comment 💝
Great tips Emily, I’m a new sub. I’m excited to start a travel journal mainly to have a space to add all my ephemera that I bring back from my trips. I’m really enjoying all your videos.
Hi! I accidentally stumbled upon your video. But I am glad I did. You have a wonderful travel journal and ideas. I LOVED it! It is great to see a fellow journaler from Toronto. Also, I love Paper Plus Cloth. I get my supplies from there too. I was in a journal slump for long, mostly because I used to put too much importance on aesthetic & themes of my journal then enjoying the process. I just wanted everything to be perfect when I reminisce. Now, I have taken the pressure off me. I would rather have ever changing aesthetics and theme in my journal then have nothing to look back. I am looking forward to your journey and more ideas! :)
Thank you so much! I'm so excited when I connect with other Toronto journalers :) If you like PaperPlusCloth check out Toronto Pen Shoppe, they just opened in the Distillery District! So glad to hear you've gotten out of your journal slump, that can be so hard to do :) So happy to have you here, thank you for subscribing :) 🥰
It can be tough! If you really don’t know, I would include any ideas you have and see how they feel after you’ve added them. Then from there you can see if you want to continue!! Good luck Diana 💖
Absolutely loved this video!! I have been in a journaling slump the past month and am trying to get back into everything. I definitely don’t wanna pressure myself, I always caught myself doing that throughout the past few years! Do you have any tips to gain that inspiration and finding the time to journal? I am still trying to figure out exactly what method of journaling works for me, I love that it is different for everybody!! Amazing video once again, your journal is beautiful- have an amazing week!! :)
Thank you so much!! To be completely honest I have also been experiencing a journal slump lately, so I've been trying things out to see what works! I will make a video about it soon, but for me reassessing what I want to get out of journaling in the first place and building a system around that has helped a lot :) Also putting my journals in hard-to-miss places for a visual cue to journal. Happy to chat more via IG if you'd like!! Hope you can find your inspiration again soon 🫶📔
Um, your nails are gorgeous! I’m learning a lot from you (newbie) so thank you! I will check out that shop the next time I’m in Toronto. Not much on the website atm
I totally agree! This is my third or fourth attempt at a travel journal to be completely transparent. I was surprised I stuck with it so long! Try to lean into the fun part about it 😄🫶🏻
A stationary goal is to create an affordable notebook refill that is FP friendly, and used for travel journalung, long form jornaling, and planner setups. Stay tuned..
I would try laminating or using packing tape over them to laminate yourself! Usually it’s heat/friction/light that causes them to fade so hope that helps :)
I like your travel journal! Mine looks similar, little more writing, little less ephemera. Every day I draw a symbol for the weather and if it’s really cold or really warm I draw a blue or red thermometer 😊. But there is one thing: I think it’s really sad that you seem to rush through your journey that you don’t even have time to journal one page for every destination. I take my travel journal with me in my backpack when I am out and exploring and write in a cafe or when waiting for lunch or dinner. There is always time to write some sentences and I leave space for fotos or ephemera I add when back in the hotel. This way you don’t forget the small moments that are so easy to forget when journaling after the trip.

That's a great idea! Especially to break up the writing since I wasn't decorating yet :)

I am struggling with what to keep in my travel journal too. Big trips, small trips, really good days in my hometown?

Any fellow travel journaler's have any tips for stopping receipts from fading when including them in your books?
I would try laminating or using packing tape over them to laminate yourself! Usually it’s heat/friction/light that causes them to fade so hope that helps :)
You can scan them and print them out too
@kou_isthatyou that’s a way better idea!! 🤩
What size is your journal? Thanks!
It’s the “Large” size from Moleskine! About 13 x 21cm or 5 x 8.5in 😄
❤❤
