    I travel with a presentation folder (10-20 pocket pages) from the dollar store for my ephemera. I drop everything I collected that day into a pocket and add a note of the highlights of the day. Keeps everything in order! Love your journal!!

      I also collected my ephemera in a similar file folder on my last big trip...but then never did anything with it, and combinated them all willy-nilly! I love that you sorted it and made notes in this way, definitely incorporating that for my next trip!

    • @rv6847
      @rv6847 9 месяцев назад +2

      For my notes, I use a mini spiral notebook and mini pen/pencil that I carry with me all day in my jean pocket or an outside pocket of my purse. I quickly jot everything: expenses, town/cities, anecdotes, mileage, what I ate... and I can rip a page out without ruining the book. At night, you can summarize using the notepads found in hotel rooms.

    • @rv6847
      @rv6847 9 месяцев назад

      @amandaananda9029 I did the willy-nilly way so many times too! I tried envelopes but they were too small for some ephemera or ripped. Those folders are awesome and super cheap. They get really bulgy, but you can kinda line them up in a bookcase.

    Tip when you want to paint/use markers: put some print paper behind it to catch the bleeding and then glue the other page behind it. It will be a thicker page but its worth it, especially when it turns out you otherwise have pages left at the end

    I want to include QR codes to videos I take, maybe include a pre and post travel interview of the road-trip with my boyfriend. I think it would be a fun way that does not need a lot of writing, while also preserving memories that include our personality, voice and mood at that point in time.

    Lovely video and great tips…the phone to light box..Genius!! I Will be traveling to Europe next week…really narrowing down what supplies to take with me has been a struggle! I did learn from another travel journaler to use repositional adhesive tape. Plus taking post it notes during adventures to jot down anything I want to recall.

      I think your approach is a useful way to document the things you see and experience while traveling. Not only does it help to preserve memories, but it also provides a meaningful reflection on the experience of travel. If you would like, I can help you arrange your notes, pictures, and other travel experiences, or I may offer some original ideas for documenting your trip. Sometimes, in my opinion, talking is simpler than writing. While traveling, think about keeping a journal or making quick films. These can enhance your written record and convey the mood better than words can. Another is to collect little, flat objects and glue them on the diary, such tickets, postcards, or embossed flowers. These tangible keepsakes have the power to evoke powerful memories that you can revisit in the future. Bring a map with you so you can record the locations you've been. You can instantly annotate each location in your diary or on the map. This gives your record a visual component and makes your journey's path easier to see. It's a lovely memory to capture. Additionally, every time I visit a new location, I get the feeling that anything I see will motivate me to book more travel. Make a dedicated space in my travel journal to record my goals for the upcoming trip, including where I want to go and what I want to accomplish.

    Also, I have a question: i am hesitating on buying a mini printer and i can't make my mind about which one to get. You use an instax mini, isn't it too thick in the journal cause next pages to "wobble"?

    • @notablyemily
      @notablyemily  Год назад

      Hi Nathalie! Glad you enjoyed 😊 Yes, the photo prints from the Instax Mini are quite thick. Almost like having a credit card stuck to the page so they definitely add bulk!

  • @agungr5789
    @agungr5789 Год назад

    Hi there, your spread is super cool. A question if you dont mind. I'm thinking of buying portable photo printer, would polaroid be better compared to photo stickers in terms of image durability. I noticed that polaroid tends to change into kinda orangey colors after a while. How does it go with yours?

    • @notablyemily
      @notablyemily  Год назад +3

      Thank you! I have used Instax photos since 2017 and have even displayed them on my walls for that entire time. I haven’t had any issues with orange or weird colour warping, although they do recommend keeping them out of the sunlight so they don’t fade over time. They are much thicker than photo paper or sticker paper though, so they add more bulk to the page. Hope that helps! 😁
