I travel with a presentation folder (10-20 pocket pages) from the dollar store for my ephemera. I drop everything I collected that day into a pocket and add a note of the highlights of the day. Keeps everything in order! Love your journal!!
OMG wow this is such a smart idea!! I will definitely be using this next time, thank you so much for sharing 🤩
I also collected my ephemera in a similar file folder on my last big trip...but then never did anything with it, and combinated them all willy-nilly! I love that you sorted it and made notes in this way, definitely incorporating that for my next trip!
For my notes, I use a mini spiral notebook and mini pen/pencil that I carry with me all day in my jean pocket or an outside pocket of my purse. I quickly jot everything: expenses, town/cities, anecdotes, mileage, what I ate... and I can rip a page out without ruining the book. At night, you can summarize using the notepads found in hotel rooms.
@amandaananda9029 I did the willy-nilly way so many times too! I tried envelopes but they were too small for some ephemera or ripped. Those folders are awesome and super cheap. They get really bulgy, but you can kinda line them up in a bookcase.
Tip when you want to paint/use markers: put some print paper behind it to catch the bleeding and then glue the other page behind it. It will be a thicker page but its worth it, especially when it turns out you otherwise have pages left at the end
That’s so smart! Thank you so much for the tip! 🤩
Oooooh that font idea 💡 is superb 👏
Thanks Janet!! It definitely takes the pressure off of learning calligraphy in a pinch 😄

Great video! When I lived in Italy, I tried to do document as much as I could while I was there. I still have quite a bit to document (we lived there for 4 years) but glad I did a lot of at the “currently” journaling. Your trip looked amazing. Greece is on my list of places to visit.
Thank you! Wow that sounds incredible, I bet you have so many amazing memories! Greece was beautiful. Thanks so much for your kind comment 💝
Thank you for the tips, Emily! ❤ i havent got any trip planned soon but this surely will help ❤

What an interesting video. Great tips and ideas.
Thanks so much 🥰
Lovely video and great tips…the phone to light box..Genius!! I Will be traveling to Europe next week…really narrowing down what supplies to take with me has been a struggle! I did learn from another travel journaler to use repositional adhesive tape. Plus taking post it notes during adventures to jot down anything I want to recall.
Those are great tips! I hope you have a fantastic time in Europe and enjoy journaling all about it too. 😊
@@notablyemily 😌 Thanks!
Hey Emily…your dad shared the link to your video! I’m a Traveler’s Notebook fan, but not doing anything nearly as fancy as you are! 😉 Keep up the good work! Jeff L.
the fake hand lettering tip so so smart!!!
Jee and me being jealous of your handlettering 😂
Hahaha! It's a great way to "fake it" and still have it look nice! :)
OMG yesss I haven’t even watched yet and I know it’ll be good!
Thank you so much for your video ^^I love the iphone lightbox idea ^^
Also, I have a question: i am hesitating on buying a mini printer and i can't make my mind about which one to get. You use an instax mini, isn't it too thick in the journal cause next pages to "wobble"?
Hi Nathalie! Glad you enjoyed 😊 Yes, the photo prints from the Instax Mini are quite thick. Almost like having a credit card stuck to the page so they definitely add bulk!

Hope you enjoy!!
Hi there, your spread is super cool. A question if you dont mind. I'm thinking of buying portable photo printer, would polaroid be better compared to photo stickers in terms of image durability. I noticed that polaroid tends to change into kinda orangey colors after a while. How does it go with yours?
Thank you! I have used Instax photos since 2017 and have even displayed them on my walls for that entire time. I haven’t had any issues with orange or weird colour warping, although they do recommend keeping them out of the sunlight so they don’t fade over time. They are much thicker than photo paper or sticker paper though, so they add more bulk to the page. Hope that helps! 😁
Thank you so much Emily for all your tipps 💕 they are so helpful 😍 may I kindly ask you what size your Moleskine is? Following the link you mentioned (thank you 😘)I found all types they are selling. Yours isn't cahier size I suppose? Many greetings, Andrea
Thank you so much for your kind comment Andrea! Sorry the link wasn’t super helpful 😅 I’m not sure Moleskine sells these anymore, but the size is about 5 in x 8.25 in ! I received this as a gift from a corporate event years ago, I hope you can find it 🥰
Thank you for your quick reply 💕 The measurements will surely help finding this notebook 😍
Love love love your videos and I totally agree the photo needs to be the main focus
You’re the best Janet! 💕 Glad you enjoy them, happy you’re a part of my RUclips community now! 😊
First two minutes you’ll see hands!
Which to tn are you using?
It’s not a TN sadly! It’s a repurposed Moleskine :)
I thought you use the traveler's company traveler's notebook 😩
I do use a TN! I have a regular sized one :) This notebook isn’t TN sized though, I started using it before I realized it wouldn’t fit into the cover 🥲

What would you think if a guy did this?
I would be excited for him!! Journaling doesn’t have a gender and everyone is welcome. Job’s Journal is a big journaling RUclips channel and he is really popular in the community! 😊
@@notablyemily thank you. I’ve always wanted to start one and take pictures and put them
In my entries and stuff but I’m a bit afraid I might be perceived feminine because of that
@some5794 I encourage you to try out things you’d enjoy despite what others think! It’s such a fun hobby 😊
LOVE LOVE LOVE the video. So many great tips. Thanks for sharing ❤
You are so welcome! So glad you enjoyed! 😊
