    At 5'1, I'm super happy with my XS Liv Intrigue LT1. Couldn't afford the carbon version, but that purple paint job looks amazing 😍 Enjoy the bike!

      This is good to hear! Fellow shorty here, looking to upgrade from my XS 2019 Liv Intrigue Advanced 1. Do you find that the dropper goes low enough? My current dropper doesn’t allow for enough travel because of the kink in the seat tube, it limits seat post insertion. The standover on this LT is bonkers at 613, while my 2019 is 691. This is exciting!

    Hey, I work at a giant dealer. We have been saying for years that the Liv bikes always get the best paint jobs! So jealous! I'm sitting here at my office right next to my TAP 29 2, paint job is black :( But I will say this. Live valve will be really cool for you. It is a little bit more subtle that you'd think, and you don't hear the little robots whirring like Rockshox Flight Attendant. Full battery charge took every bit of 2 hours though...

      Agreed! I feel the live valve doing it's thing but I didn't notice any distracting noises.

    Glad to see you back posting tess, also i wish other manufacures would take notice of the paint / color schemes of companies like juliana and now liv. Im a middle age man who prefers some of these unique colors than the same ol same ol. VIVA HT PARY and DB!!

      It's so funny you would say that because I've heard from many guys that they would ride a Juliana or live just for the paint job. They really do a great job.

    Great review Tess! I demoed this bike at Roam Last year... honestly, not a fan. I took it down Hiline and wouldn't ride sections that I normally do. Super weird feeling. But maybe I didn't set it up right? Not sure. Stoked to see you get some miles on it! Let's ride soon. I miss ya!

      Same same. For me, I have a hard time balancing traction between my front and rear wheels on steep sections when the chainstay is longer than the reach. The intrigue's geo falls into that camp. I'm curious if that was what you were feeling? Just like "hey, where's my ninja like traction? I'm freaking Joanna Yates! Where's my mojo all of a sudden?" It's a geo a rider can get used to, but I don't prefer it. Maybe the same for you?

      @joannajyates 9 месяцев назад

      For sure. I was definitely losing traction! I rode the chute on hiline and was super sketched out. But yeah, you're right-i think I would need more rides on it. Great Review Tess.

    But how much does it weigh? It pains me to see couples where the strong 180lb husband rides the top end 26lb bike because he "rides more". But the 120lb wife gets the budget version that weighs 34lbs. Then we wonder why the wife doesn't enjoy the climbs. For smaller, less strong riders weight matters.

    • @dustybettymtb
      @dustybettymtb  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I definitely hear that. This bike weighs about 31 lb. It's lighter than I thought it was going to be. It's pretty par for the course for a bike in this travel range. Still, it's not a very fair rider to bike ratio if you're riding with your husband 😉

      I turned my wife on to these new modern hardtail mtbs and we have been getting in alot of riding. One day she said her back was bothering her from a old injury, I wanted her to keep on enjoying riding with me so I got her a Santa Cruz Juliana mullet full suspension. $4300 Now she has the best bike in the stable. Heck ya! You deserve at least a 28 lb bike and Maxxis Dissector tires 2.5, they are super grippy and fast rolling too!
      Dusty Betty has a review on that bike too.

    Giant makes great products at the appropriate price points, but a lot of bike snobs won't even look at them. I bet a lot of them would take a good look at a Liv and walk away impressed (assuming they don't know who manufactured it).

    • @dustybettymtb
      @dustybettymtb  11 месяцев назад

      I think you are definitely on to something. It's true that once people are in that price range they are looking at other brands, but I was impressed with this bike.
