    For the world to see; Taoist Ketogenic Diet is one that follows the law of nature, we should all get out of the misty world of grains, industrial deception and face the reality of our animal nature; and that is not ketogenic diet. We should not seek ketonic state for the sake of doing so. It should be viewed as a side issue. Neither should we burry ourselves in the mud of noodle bowls. Glucose is glucose, regardless where you get it from.

    徐博士,我自從戒碳水化合物(完全戒麵同飯),小食糖分(基本上完全戒晒生果),儘量食一個low carb diet, 同埋做返一啲負重動同帶氧運動,我減咗60磅。 以前我差不多200磅,接近有糖尿病(insulin resistant)。多謝徐博士你比最新嘅科學資訊香港人。

    多谢徐化普先生用心良苦的分享!你的话我记住了,会在生活中继续实践。肚子咕咕叫也没关系,头脑会越来越清醒精神,眼睛看手机也不疲劳不痛,这是我的体会,真的没必要一日三餐,一日一餐或者断食24小时也是很精神的。

    徐博士你好,本人同意你所說的生酮,我沒吃五穀和糖已有三個月多,吃好既油、草飼肉類和有機食品,身體健康狀況良好,精神飽滿,以前經常喉嚨腫痛發炎,現在吃(熱氣)食物也沒有喉痛了,體重還減了十磅。以前怎樣運動和節食都減不了,原來係糖和澱粉的禍害!甚至有減肥醫生叫我不要吃油只食白米、瘦肉和青菜水果,然後比些焼肥葯我食,但當我一停药不到一個月就立即又肥番,我覺得這些醫生用的方法完全是錯!我相信徐博士的說法。

      什么,朋友,你还在玩这种低级游戏?不生病算什么!我们要让病得人了,也是断糖。我这里有个病例,他有夜尿(不要问什么因素导致),他在2017年8月我们测过最多有22次起夜。 2018年1月17号,我们给一些朋友圈的人,演示:科学统计,这个病人一共在24H (我们叫工作曰单位 不是从0点算 但是生活时间总共24H) 他只用了4次厕所! 这4次 含便 呕吐 拉肚(可能痢疾) 便秘(其实便秘的去厕所也多) 还有2次是洗澡和刷牙(完事了顺便来个便)。而且,他的24H尿量,刚好是1450ML,就是18到40岁的人 标准尿量是1000到2000全部对(取决于喝水多少) 我们给这个病人喝了1000ML左右的 其他就是食物含有水分。 这是(膀胱多动症)。

      具体的情况是:在0:20 他第一次使用厕所 是洗澡(睡前必须用)。第二次是9:50 (洗脸刷牙 起床厕所),第三次是下午15:10(吃了午饭 有便秘),第4次是晚19:40 ,(他觉得再便一次 就是便秘)。量是 300 450 350 350 .这个数据, 人在超过400还不尿 叫憋,低于200尿 叫频。 但是,早起450,是因为我们修复他的睡眠神经 他睡死了 憋尿不知 起床后立即尿。

    Thank you Dr. Tsui. I have been waiting for this video for a long time. Is there going to have further videos on what to eat to become a natural ketogenic diet person?
    I have been practising intermittent fasting (4 to 12 hours) and reduce rice by 60% for a few months and feel good.

    I suspect some audience are unsettled by my opinion on Diet; let us forget immunology, let us forget meningitis; for over 30 years, I have been studying food and nutrition to care for my heavily diabetic father and my type II; gathered much of what I learned to share and discuss. I will be the last one to “ask” anyone to follow my steps. I had clearly stated my position before; i will share my accomplishment later when I conquered my high blood pressure. Ketogenic Diet is just a tool to be used ‘properly”. The reason I created Taoist ketogenic diet carried a mission; go with nature; 大道自然. We can and should take into consideration of TCM and it’s use of herbs. Taoist Ketogenic Diet is not complete, but I strongly advised against drinking coffee laced with butter. I would present a far better diet when I am done with my TKD, the Taoist Ketogenic Diet. This approach is being followed by myself onto my own body; so far so good. As a chemist, I will not advise people on their own medical problems. This is a program to share scientific information for all parties concerned. By the way, I personally do not take “dietitians “seriously because I do not buy
    ‘All’ their conclusions. If One learned friends in diet and medicine are great, we would not have our current statistics in over weights, diabetes, blood and heart vessel problems, not to mention cancer.

    有点好奇,我就是因为血糖高只有早餐吃淀粉,午餐晚餐都是菜肉,会吃的略肥,结果还是瘦不停,因为菜肉怎样吃都吃不够一天2000卡,如果不喝油的话,怎样都才不会继续瘦…?
    可能教授本身基础代谢率比较低,但是对我一向一来大量吃淀粉每天超过2000卡的人都不会肥,现在只是减少两餐淀粉都一直瘦下去…所以除了用油来补充难道还有其它方法?

      首先首先要解決的是為什麼你血糖高。此外,吃肉多一樣會由肉轉化成糖。我恭喜你在減食澱粉。身體各異,沒有絕對的答案,好的油也不是用來渴的請入bobtsui.com作參考吧。謝謝來信

    吃油也有讲究,要吃用椰子油,猪油(煮)的食物,可以吃鸡蛋黄。但少吃用种子植物油和油炸过零食和食物。
    糖 - 米麥飯菓汁类,吃多会生慢性疾病。
    有吃脂肪的人能耐饿有保护器官和制造细胞功能。
    没有吃脂肪的人千万不能断食。

    Dr Tsui, is full cream fresh milk good for our health ? If butter is considered good in keto diet, then fresh milk should be a good choice for breakfast, right ?

      Chemically speaking, we should first take note of our own physiological condition; for me being prediabetic, I do not use fresh milk, for some reason that I do not understand, fresh milk boosts my glucose level, Butter and heavy cream are items I use all tge time; here I would point out that I use them judicially, if I am not hungry, I do not use them. Please remember any formulated diet is a tool, Ketogenic Diet must be applied with diligence it works well to reduce excessive water in our body, but keeping it long term could be problematic: Too much protein intake can cause unwarranted side effects. Would you trust the meat produced by industry? For people with normal body conditions, a fresh glass of milk is quite fine, my mother lived up to a century, she drank a glass of milk every day.

    博士你好,我戒糖後無法完成訓練,未戒前做過幾次都能完成,訓練前半小時已經吃了兩根香蕉,但做起來仍然很吃力,所以我想訓練前那一餐(晚餐)吃大量碳水化合物,而午餐只吃菜和肉,請問這個食法可行嗎?會不會不長壽?

    Dr Tsui, What is your opinion on mandatory vaccination? I just read an article a Michigan mother lost custody of her child and put in jail for a week all because she didn't vaccinate her son. I never questioned the vaccination system. All my three boys are taking vaccine according to their age. But for this case, I thinking putting a mother in jail and lost custody is a bit over the line. Instead, the stuffs force upon us should be readily justifying itself. Something doesn't smell right. Thanks

      Vaccination is complicated issue; depends. When my fellow scientists at NIH enabled the vaccine for Haemophilus influenza bacteria, the vaccine is completely safe, not even a fever from adverse reaction. There are others that are crude and sometimes dangerous, but rarely life threatening. There is no universal answer to your question. You should consult with your physician for individual cases and you should also read the material provided through official sources. On the case with mother in jail, that is too much; just too much to be so.
      The mother should be educated instead of treated so seriously. We are very fragile beings, vaccination provide us with defence we are likely to die if not taken seriously. After all, go back in history you can see millions die from infectious diseases. So, vaccination if vital, life saving, but not by putting mothers in jail for not doing it in time.

      If I remember correctly, the main concern out there is not the active ingredient in a vaccine, it is the preservatives that "may" cause some ill effects on growing children, principally Mercury.

    I thought during a diabetic ketoacidosis crisis, glucose is not available for fuel and the body switches to burn body fat for energy. During the breakdown of fat, Acetone is produced as the end product causing ketoacidosis and ketonuria. Are you saying Acetone can be further metabolized for energy and becomes another intermediate or end product? Acetone, an end product that can not be further metabolized for energy and are usually expelled through the breath or urine. Acetoacetate and Butyrate can be further metabolized for energy; with the absence of glucose, the blood will be very acidic with the high presence of these ketone bodies as a result of beta-oxidation of fatty acids which is harmful to the body tissues, especially the nervous system. Moreover, the Liver Cells and Red Blood Cells can use only glucose for energy; not having glucose in the system is not good for these two cell types. Ketogenic Diet is still advisable even with these drawbacks? Is Ketogenic Diet basically what they called, no carb (low carb) diet?

      It is unfair to compare ketogenic state of physiological condition with diabetic ketoacidosis. Your point is well said but confused. Google "Metabolism of acetone" you will see the NIH studies on this. Regards

      In the discussion section, this article from "The Journal of Clinical Investigation" states that "Whether acetone is oxidized directly or after conversion to other compounds, such as glucose , cannot be determined from our studies."
      It appears acetone is (may be) indeed an end product of beta-oxidation of fatty acids and it is readily expelled from the body via breath and urine (may be feces too). It could well be a "mass action of ketone bodies" which may have driven the reaction backwards forming acetoacetate and beta-hydroxy-butyrate and drives the Embden-Meyerhof pathway backwards to form glucose.
      Anyway, acidifying our blood with so much ketone bodies puts a load on the body to buffer off these addition hydronium ions is not good for the body.

Keeping low intake of grains does not equal to acetone generation sufficient enough to cause undue load on our body, especially when one consider the tricks of starvation. The key chemical for our body under Ketogenic state is beta hydroxy butyrate. Thanks for your interest.

    唔系爆碳之後就又要經過好長時間恢復生酮,正常做回生酮飲食就可以回復生酮了。生酮飲食根本唔需要計算卡路里,計算蛋白質攝入,只要保證每餐吃蛋白質的同時攝入足夠多的油,根本無需理會蛋白質是不是超過了。每個人的body系唔一樣的,邊個可以拍心口講誰誰誰exactly咁多蛋白質。

    Even you are professor , I still want to tell you that includes not only you know the metabolism of glucose ! After via kreb cycle ( citric cycle ) ,glucose can be converted to other nutrient including amino acid or fatty acid ! Of course vice via ! As I know that current medical field still question about ketone ! If the glucose is harmful or carcinogenic ,honestly all human being have been extincted long time ago !       No, not a joke. I did it for two years and I experimented on my body again and again, each time with fabulous results when rice and noodles and the like are eliminated.
