I've just bought a laptop and to my surprise FS2020 runs quite nicely on it. I tried using an Xbox controller but the throttle control is just not good enough, so I switched back to a joystick and then literally this came up. Very tempting because it looks great for a mobile setup - but for me the price is just too much. If this could be £100-150, then I might be able to talk myself into it. Looks good though and I wish the company much success!

In my opinion, I think this product is quite expensive for it's use case. You can get a proper yoke for this price or get the Thrustmaster TCA Airbus First Officer pack and the TFRP rudder pedals for just 50$ more. The concept does seem quite interesting though!

$250? OUCH!!!!! I understand the purpose of the device but dang, that price gets you a full yoke or throttle. The other issues I see are no wireless support as well as no Xbox support (wouldn't the main target audience for this be Xbox users).

Personally, I'm happy to see that it's wired. I don't like the additional weight and hassle that comes with batteries.

The use case is definitely for laptop users on the go and still want to fly msfs with a bit more than a standard game controller

About those 2 throttle sliders on the lower right. I really only need one, which revs all the engines together. That leaves the one on the left not being used. I would map both right brake axis and left brake axis onto it (using the MSFS Controller screen). That way both brakes will operate as you push the lever forward. Because it's an axis, not a button, the braking is proportional. In other words move the lever slightly and you get a gentle braking. The more you push the brake lever forward the more braking strength you will get. Note: to set parking brakes just push the lever forward all the way and you have full braking, as strong as a parking brake.
Before landing, make sure the lever is all the way back so the wheels are free rolling. immediately after touchdown, push the lever forward gently and coast down to a nice slow taxi speed. You can't hardly do that smoothly using buttons instead of an axis for the brakes (because buttons are just full on/ full off, not proportional).

For years I've been using a Spektrum Interlink controller for a PC R/C flight simulator. The stick precision is far better than the gamepad style joystick of this Yawman. While you won't get the rocking rudder style yaw control, controlling yaw with the left stick is very precise and once used to it, in a stiff crosswind approach I can transition from a crab to a slip at flare with ease. Best part, its half the cost of this Yawman. It is neat however to see a company creating flightsim-specific condensed flight control.

Wireless? I have 2 Wireless Xbox controllers that I also use with other games. The problem is they are about 50% heavier than the Yawman Arrow. And you are supposed to hold this in your hands while flying. The other desktop alternatives put no weight on your hands, and I am happy the Yawman Arrow is wired.

Shame its so expensive, I play DCS with a controller and was hoping this would be a step up but for that price :(

My only gripe is the USB-c connection and no wireless.
You just know after a year that usb-c is gonna be all busted up and slack and losing connectivity. I don't think I can resist buying it tho. Good entry price for flight sim controls, how can I say no.

Just my opinion... But it literally looks like a $50 product

It's a niche product. They'd need to sell them by the millions to hit that price point.

Yeah, looks cheesy. They could have chosen some better colors or something. But I suppose it serves a purpose. I could see using this when traveling with a laptop.

I don't usually say this... But what a BS price! My first yoke and throttle set didn't even cost anywhere near that. Especially without console support, I cannot fathom why anyone on PC/laptop would invest $250, plus tax and shipping, over a joystick at a minimum. Which can also be used on the go, or in your living room. No shade at you Spencer! This is a great review. The controller is a fantastic idea if it was $60-$80. They'd probably sell more too. But spending nearly $300 to sim with my thumbs? Just can't do it.

Check out the Spektrum Interlink. For PC R/C flightsims, but completely adaptable for MSFS. It's a hundred bucks.

With all Joysticks I've always found it's best to go through win10/11 device/printers, find the joystick, and calibrate it there. Then do the in-game/sim calibration. This usually helps centers things better and gets the correct endpoint travels. The Yawman Arrow look great for travel but I'm not a big fan of Xbox-like controllers for any sims. Also, as other have already said, looks a bit over-priced. I'd say it should be around $150 max.
I've found the best alternative to Yokes/joystick/pedals is the usb controller I use with my radio control sims (I fly radio controlled 3D planes and hel's). It's the Spektrum Interlink DX usb controller (mode 2 version = throttle/rudder on left stick, elev/aileron on right stick). It only costs about $90 from Horizon Hobbies and/or their dealers. It has 15 channels you can program most functions using it with any win10/11 sims and works great with msfs. It's also very travel-friendly and doesn't take up very much desk space. Seems to work best for me plugged into a usb2 port. Anyway, I just thought I'd mention this. Thanks for all your good vids mate and best 2024 cheers from Australia!

    - $250
    - Not compatible with iOS
    - Not compatible with xBox
That itself is unfortunately a NO from me.
I was quite excited to have it with IFS on my iPad and MSFS on an xBox

Better get a TCA Airbus First Officer pack for 80 dollars less imo. Or save up 300$ and get the captain pack.

Looks like garbage... for that price? And it looks like they never flew a plane and trimmed it out while putting pressure on the yoke... the trim wheel is totally misplaced.

I had the same thoughts. Pitch and elevator trim should not be on the same side.

No wireless connectivity in a $250 controller??? That’s something I can overlook, but that price point is just unrealistic.

Nah man, I'm not in the market for a $250 Gamepad thats tailorfit only for flying sims. A bit on top of that and it will get you a good hotas setup. Rather get a regular xboxpad and a mini fcu for that.

this needs to be under $100 to entice the casual gamer. Because no hardcore simmer is going to use an Xbox controller that doesn't work on the Xbox

  • @keshermedia

It would have been nice if they would have ever flown RC or used any flight sims before as the "stick" and "rudder" are in the completely wrong and opposite location. There is simply no excuse for this! 😵‍💫😬🙈🙈🙈

I'm sorry but this looks incredibly cheap and silly, especially for this price. The sim is perfectly usable with an Xbox controller and it has better ergonomics and probably durability. This one looks really overcomplicated and low (build) quality.
