People most remember Indianapolis in F1 terms for 2005 or Hamilton v Alonso in 2007 but the 2003 race is a generally underrated gem. Really glad to see it on the list

it may look like a bad circuit but they can’t race hardly anywhere else in the US because of their cars. lots of our tracks either have banking or roads that won’t benefit the new slicks. i doubt they’ll make some famous ones grade 3 to be used

@@andyvettel4375 all those tracks you mentioned recently in the times being used, there wasn’t big audiences especially in Turkey since the location is in the middle of nowhere. that’s why their not on the calendar. Mugello and the two German GPs had reasonable audiences but most were Vettel fans or Ferrari fans.
COTA 2018 was the first race I ever saw in person. I was at the top of the hill on turn 1 and when Kimi held off Lewis at the start the crowd went INSANE
I was at the Detroit GP in 1982. It was my very first F1 race. I still have one of the collectable beer mugs. I remember my very first view of an F1 car. It was the Tyrrell 011 of Alboreto. I would end up going to over 80 GP in my life. You should have heard the normally asperated engines. The Ferrari 412 t2 was a beast.

There's a difference between racing in a "car park" like we will for 10 years and racing in an actual car park. The actual car park allows for 0 track flexibility in terms of layout whilst the "car park" has the capability to contain a track that looks race-able

This footage of the old days makes the safety situations seem insane. Marshals standing on the track with their back towards speeding F1 cars, reporters on the track etc. What a mad time to live in.

There is a chance COTA could find itself in financial difficulties if Texas decides to cut off funding, as a direct result of Miami being added to the calendar. I'm sure they'll work something out though, people love COTA.
I attended a few F1 Grand Prix races at Long Beach, and, aside from Monte Carlo, I think it was the best of the rest for F1 street circuits of that era, and remains in the top four.

I actually enjoyed that fact small teams would have their points for granted. All they needed to do is to deliver their cars into finish line at one piece. Eventually, they all did. At least, none of the teams finished the season empty-handed, Monteiro even scored another point in Spa :-)
I was just happy for Kimi winning in 2018 after 5 years of gaining no victory. The finnish guys Kimi and Mika are the best, together with Senna and Schumacher of course :)
Long beach is one of the great street circuits. Shame it isn't anymore on F1 calendar. The original shape is just brilliant. For pointing my opinion find Patrick Depailler in menacing onboard video from 1978.
I'm a bit surprised Austin 2015 isn't on the list. Due to the influence of a hurricane striking Texas, the area of COTA was deluged in torrential rain all weekend, so much so that Q3 didn't happen and the grid order was decided by Q2 times instead. As it turned out, the race was the only time of that weekend where any dry running occurred. The race was full of fluctuating fortunes for the front runners, performance swings as the conditions improved. Going into that race, it looked unlikely that Hamilton would be able to clinch his third title, but after numerous safety cars and Rosberg making an inexplicable mistake at a restart, Hamilton found himself in the position he needed to become a three times world champion

I miss seeing F1 at the Brickyard in Indy. I was there to see all of Schumacher's victories there and it's something I will never forget.

Schumacher, US GP and Ferrari were always entertaining to me. That 03 race was an epic one.

I remember we had a brilliant race over there in ´05. Schumacher held on some brutal moves by team Jordan and Minardi. Excellent racing back then.
I saw all races in Texas from 2012-2019 live on TV my favourite circuit is Bahrain it has lots of cool layouts

Austin 2015 was a horrible weekend with continuous non-stop rain, but the race and Hamilton's third championship was incredible to witness.
