    As a comparison. I paid $1200 AUD for 3 days of hospitality which means unlimited drinks including alcohol, 3 meals and unlimited snacks per day with a track side seat at the Australian MotoGP.
    IMO they don't even compare. MotoGP is way more exciting and clearly better value for money. The owners of F1 just bought MotoGP so we'll see how long it lasts...

      I just came back from a visit to the states. We were at a bar and I guess some folks from Australia didn't tip the bartender. She literally ripped a strip from them. " This is America, you tip," They said they don't do that. Anyways she told her crosshift to not give them good service because they didn't tip. Smh.
      Me and my friend had an argument later about it. He's like, that's their culture. I'm like, what? That's not culture. You are supporting a business who charges $10 for a beer and pays their employees minimum wage. And somehow it's now my problem to pay even more money. It's not my responsibility to make sure someone makes a living wage. Talk to your cheap ass boss.

      @gretzkyz here is the issue. I travel extensively, world wide. And yes, I understand tipping varies from culture to culture. 2 things about that. When someone travels, they should learn what's acceptable in that culture and abide by it. And 2, most people LOVE to use the excuse of culture for not tipping. It comes down to the simple fact that those that do not tip are cheap. A lot are entitled and just plain...a holes. My friend from Germany said it best, tipping is not normal here but cheap a holes are the norm everywhere. And that is pretty much it.

    • @gretzkyz

      @@kevinc6763 I guess my definition of culture is different I guess, lol. I think it's sad that paying people a shit wage became a culture standard in the US, low skill or not. Maybe that's the point I was trying to make.

    • @kevinc6763
      @kevinc6763 20 дней назад +1

      @gretzkyz A shit wage? Sure, there are low paying jobs across all societies. To me, personally, I can't fathom asking a bar tender to make and mix half a dozen drinks for my party and not giving him or her a dollar or 2, or it's equivalent....in order to show gratitude to them. Again, cheapness and lack of social awareness are universal traits across all cultures. Says a ton about the content of someone's overall character.

      @@kevinc6763 I don't tip the McDonald's employee when he prepares and gives me all my food. Why should I anywhere else? And stop using a strawman argument about being cheap. Joel, great video. ALL F1 races are going to be very expensive. Starting with the tickets and everything inside the event. I paid $180 for a McLaren cap in Austin. One big thing I noticed thru your video is that the Miami GP fan experience seems to be MUCH better organized with many more fan options than what we saw in Austin. Looks like you had plenty of food, merchandise booths, tables to take a break, and bathrooms, all of which were in scarce supply in Austin...plus no re-fills on the water. Your F1 event also had that Miami vibe going. It wouldn't surprise me if the Miami GP and/or the Las Vegas GP are the best of all the F1 events.

    2 Tacos,, $19. A crappy Heineken for $13. A double cocktail for $23, 1 drink. Laughable. I'll wear my Flask shoes. If you see a guy drinking from his shoes,, DON'T JUDGE!!. A buddy went to both and said that the Vegas race was much better than Miami. He found a good spot to sit and see the main straight and didn't pay a dime extra.

    "EXPENSIVE" is in the eye (mind?) of the beholder. Have you attended a Super Bowl? Taylor Swift concert? Considered buying a home in Beverly Hills? Probably not. For this F1 race, it is an incredibly expensive, purpose built facility for use over only 3 days and then broken down. Merchandisers pay exorbitant rents. Costs of bringing 10 teams for a 3-day event? A lot. Solutions? "Capping costs"? Sounds like communism in a 'free market economy'. Hypocritical? D'uh! Workable solutions? Crickets!

    So much for all the American fans on Reddit saying that 'ALL' American fans will be boycotting F1 due to Andretti not getting into the F1 club!!!!

    This isn't Nascar or Indy. This is real racing at a high level. You come to a premium race event and expect to pay budget Nascar prices.

      Yeah - because watching Max Verstappen lead every lap and win the race by 25 seconds is beyond exciting.
