Excellent demo. I wish would have spent more time turning knobs on the Masterman5 I had some years ago. I love it when the little ones make an appearance in videos. Make sure you look back some day when she's older.
As always, great playing and great demo. The most informative and enjoyable demos on RUclips for sure. Not until now have I heard a Warwick get the Stingray tone so right. Then there's all the other possibilities. Cheers.
A stunning bass indeed ! I remember seeing amazing bassist Phil "Soul" Sewell play one at a Keziah Jones gig through a Trace Elliott rig in the early 90ies, and it really sounded flabbergasting
I have that same bass I bought back in 1994 and has been my main bass ever since. Classic Nice work on the tones this can be tricky due to the option of having much low bass tone. Not sure what that other guy was saying. The Neck on this bass is not thick like other Warwick basses.
I own a '97 flame maple red one of these with a truss rod cover that actually says Fortress Masterman on it! But unfortunately I cant play it as good as this. Nice vid!
Hey Pertybass! Really liked the demo for this beautiful instrument, especially the intro. I'm a proud owner of one of these Warwick basses. I bought mine new back in '95 from a dealer in Memphis that actually new very little about the instrument. Or didn't offer much info. So, over the years I have figured out that Warwick used a U.S. Swamp Ash body with a AAA flamed maple top, and, well, you know the rest. In my years of playing, I have yet to play another bass that has as "smooth" a neck with the combination of tone and clarity as the Fortress One Masterman. Truly a unique bass in the world of 4 string electronic basses. In contrast, the "highs" can be a bit harsh, and the "lows" a bit muddy, when either is maxed on the neck or bridge p'ups. So, that's my 2 cents worth. What did you think? Thanks for the vid. The adio came through nicely.
Great player! Great sound! One question for you. If you had to choose between a Fortress Masterman or Music Man Stingray 4, what would be your choice & why? Thanks!
Warwick meets Stingray? Gorgeous tone.

I also have the same bass. bought used in around 2004. Neck profile is similar to a jazz bass. Best Warwick bass I've ever tried

Tom Parks thanks, indeed a great bass!!
This has to be the first Warwick bass I've ever truly liked.
This is the first Warwick bass I ever tried, and still have one nearly 20 years on. They are fantastic and underrated

Qual o melhor? Esse ou o flashback?
Não sei, não tenho experiência com esse modelo
I have one just like that one only with black hardware.......

What are the recording gear and settings/conditions please ? Sounds pretty good even if I'm usually not that much into Warwick.
lessingesnus Thanks!
The strings on the bass are 6 months old DR Lo-Rider 045-105.
I recorder straight to a Focusrite iTrack Solo.

This is a great slap bass but the neck is so fucking thick.
Seems like the only useable tone is the Ray tone..You are awesome but every other tone else seems odd or useless..
I agree... not my bass
