I think I'd mostly display it in hover mode. It looks awesome. Only 1 more thing that would've been cool too, a style rim for the third movie to have it look like it's on the rails. Great review again Jordan!
@Driver0378 - I had thought of that too. Maybe if they do a model of the train from Part 3 at some point down the, * AHEM! * track, they could enclose some pieces for the car to give it the rail wheels and cushioning at the rear so that the train can push it like in the movie. And then you could simulate the train falling into the ravine and use the enclosed pieces to switch over to time machine mode.
@@ghostchaser1631 The locomotive in scale with the Delorean would be huge yet awesome! Sadly I doubt Lego would do it, but I’m sure there are people out there already designing a moc loco. 😉 I would love to, but certainly don’t have the time or piece count lying around. Lol!
@@Driver0378 A Lego model of the train in that scale would also be expensive, most likely in the $300.00 - $400.00 range, but for anyone who wants to complete the scene I'm sure it would be worth it to them.
This set looks really impressive!. I do hope someone comes up with a moc that fits into, which allows the doors to stay open. It's good to see Lego slowly starting to use light bricks, but they need to take it further by selling official light kits imo and while they are at it, consider audio blocks, so that when we open doors, we could have the classic hydraulic sound. There is some much potential that lego isn't capitalizing on.
Great review. This is one of my favorite film franchises and I'm glad LEGO has been able to make this into a cool 3-in-1 set. If I get this, I'm not too sure which way I'd display it since they all have their neat features. Again, neat job on this build Bricksie.
i just ordered mine. i also have the small one from years ago. when i was a kid i tried to make this so many times but it was never right. THIS is going to be amazing!
This is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been humming and hawing about it and your review has sealed the deal for me! I will be getting this. I think the feature to flip the wheels sealed the deal for me. I absolutely love this! Every wee boy’s dream after seeing this film!
One thing that I wish could have been added to the set is the railroad variant of the Time Machine and from what I have seen, Lego has not incorporated the railroad wheels to the DeLorean and in my opinion they are very essential for Marty to return to 1985 after being stranded in 1885 for 5 days when him and Doc hijack the locomotive to get back to their timeline.
This was fun build. My girlfriend and I probably spent 4-5 hours leisurely building this while watching the movies again. This thing is heavier and larger than I thought. I’m really impressed actually.
Just built mine today. Lots of fun… missing 2 things though; I think the windows in the doors should be bigger and use a transparent window as well so we can also make the smaller part in the window visible. And think the bottom needed some more work as you can get it into flight mode. In the movie the bottom is flat and has green wavy lights underneath. That would have made it even better for me.
I am definitely going to buy this one. I love the details on it! Lego did a good job! Not really a fan of how the car looked in the third movie so I think Ill stick with building the version from the first movie.
You have almost convinced me to buy this set! I saw all the movies for the first time last year, and I really liked them. It's truly an ironic vehicle throughout movie history
Wow, I am drooling so hard right now, feel like homer thinking of food! This is sooo incredible, who doesn't want this piece! The only down point (if any!) is that it's not even bigger (just for more building fun). Thanks for the review!
This set in my opinion was well worth the 160 bucks from Walmart. Wasn’t cheep but it’s definitely awesome. There’s two things I loved growing up and that was Back To The Future and Lego’s so something inside of me just couldn’t say no lol. Plus it was the last one on the shelf so it was meant to be😂😂
interesting. they made what one could consider a mistake on the plaque. The car runs on normal gasoline as fuel. It uses Plutonium to generate the 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity used to activate the Flux capacitor.... Regardless, i want this car on my shelf...
I'm sure theres some way to brick build a fixed connection onto it, also the real DeLorean doors did the same thing which you can see in some the of movie scenes :D
Two major flaws.. At this point, we're still messing around with sticker sheet. Our competitors have already step away and printed every piece. Second flaw, doors can't stay up on by itself. They could easily engineer to stay open and close.
@@BroodPitt I have more MegaConstrux sets then I have with Lego because I displeased sticker sheets. Kre-O, not too much either, they are their own issue, nice try Hasbro for trying to into the brick market.
Very cool model ! 3 in 1. I do do not remember the third on, all I remember is the train destroying the car, and the train with the family in it ,flying off into the sunset.
Looking at the size of the boxes, I was worried this and the echto-1 would be way to large. But both seem perfectly scaled. Im definitely picking these up soon
Really nice set, if you like to collect DeLoreans you might also like Playmobil's version. That plaque is kinda incorrect as Doc himself tells in BttF 3, "Mr. Fusion powers the time circuits and the flux capacitor. But the internal combustion engine runs on ordinary gasoline, it always has."
I love your reviews but as an avid Back to the Future fan, you failed at just the 18 second mark. It does not run on "one point two one gigga-watts" as you say. It runs on "one point twenty-one jigga-watts"
The more I'm looking at this set the more I'm falling in love. But the more I'm looking at this set the more I'm thinking that it miss something. Indeed due to minifigs you must exposed the DeLorean in it's episode II configuration. Why Lego doesn't propose torso and legs for each episode in order to have an accurate set?
The only thing I didn’t like was how on the box it looked like the whole set was going to be the stainless steel color pf the bumper, and I bought it veiling that would be the case. I seriously would have paid 50 more dollars just to have the exterior be the same shiny stainless steel color of the bumper
I wish you can compare this version with BrickVault's (designed by David Slater). There are definitely plenty of Strengths and Weaknesses associated with each one as far I can tell already.
Great review, as always. You mention that there is not enough pieces in the kit to build everything for a quick easy swap. What are the pieces that we would need to get in order to have everything?
Totally picking this one up, I’ve got 3 sets on the most but lost. Optimus prime, DeLorean and Elvis. The Viking ship looks awesome but those 3 are my buy right now(or as soon as they launch).
Need a 4th conversion where you can change the white wall tires into train rail wheels. Could probably be easily done with some tech pieces. Maybe build a line of track to let it roll on. Pretty sick Lego display. I don't collect Lego myself, but seeing this might make me get this one
Personally I prefer a mixed mode to reduce extras I use basic tyres, add the lightning rod, have me fusion and then the additional tube circuit I really don’t like sets that do that in general Either way let’s hope we get a time train at sone point
Great review video, I’m think to getting this set, I’m curious what are the 3 extra parts you needed to build everything? So I can look for them on bricklink greetings from the Netherlands

If I had money to blow I’d buy 3 sets and display them in all 3 stages in a row, would look awesome In a home theater or an area like that
Ironically this Lego set is probably better built than the car itself
You should place it next to the t2 campervan seeing as i think it's similar to the one that chases the delorean in the first film.
the door not being held in place in the gull wing pose bugs me A LOT
Amazing video, and I think this set is built really detailed and it’s an amazing set in general!!!!!!
I don't know if you know but you can put the minifigures inside of the car. The seats let them sit in the car.

Just for curiosity what were the 3 extra parts you needed from your inventory?
Looks like one of the hoses (tap and hose) and the top of the lightning rod from the BTTF1 version, reused on the BTTF3 bonnet assembly.
I assume the 1x1 circular piece on the hose is a spare from this set
2:18 Aren't the slope elements on the bonnet actually pretty old? I remember them from my dad's lego sets they were in red from a House Roof set...
