I have a mod/moc bttf 3 Lego train that works on the standard Lego rails. This delorian model is way to big, sadly. Although the mega blocks 9778 express steam unit is large and I bought some monorails from a Lego store I use as it's rails. This would be a lot closer, and would still need modifications to make it work. Either way take it as a fyi! I read on that mod site for the bttf 3 flying train, that Lego has denied doing the model even with the 10,000 signatures of interested parties who want it, and would buy it, they have declined the model by it's designer. Very sad. I want it more than the delorian.
i think that making the train would be very expensive, but it would be very amazing! i dont think anyone has made a train moc thats at a bigger scale then the normal lego trains.
@@Samylton It's possible though. Some Lego builders built a much larger flying scotsman, and even on a smaller scale there's single truck shay studios on RUclips, who builds at a scale treating lego track as narrow gauge.
I just hope they release more BTTF sets. The Clocktower in various time periods. The train with track and trainwheels for our current delorean. SO MUCH POTENTIAL! If only lego can reach it.
Great mods my dude! Loved how you took off Marty’s hand to show he was vanishing. I decided to make the wheels look more like the first film by painting middle bit black and highlight the writing on the tyres. Just a small thing but makes a big difference. Keep up the great videos :)
While I don't plan on adding to the set itself, the minifigure fixes you've done are amazing. Especially the part 3 additions! Fantastic! I also agree on the Han Solo hair, it isn't perfect but it's much closer to Marty's hair than the short piece. I definitely need to pick up the custom pieces from Firestar - luckily I was already planning on a new order for this month. Oh, and the rail tracks are rad as hell!
Im officially impressed with this model now! I never thought that I would see so much detail from all three films, from the mini figures, to props, and even the environment itself that surrounds this car! I see a lot more potential with making recreation videos of the film series. I know I'm going to try it!
The BTTF3 version of the car was one I'd just kind of dismissed offhand, but the wheels you've done for it and the rails for it to rest on really make it a fantastic display piece. very tempting now!
Absolutely agree with the wheel mod to prep the time machine for the rail road. The rail setup the last time the car was seen and really sets it into the theme of the third movie.
These changes.. are amazing. I honestly cannot even handle your level of attention to detail- it’s so intricate, I’m pretty sure you are in my top 3 favorite people to watch on RUclips- and that’s not just lego people, it’s literally across all of my hobbies. Amazing! I can’t even fathom what you’re doing next lol. Keep up the incredible work, you seriously should work for lego- but, they’d likely hinder your capabilities.
I first rebuilt the back driver's side to include the black "hockey puck" details and extend the silver grille pieces, then I tiled the floorboards in gray bc I believe it has gray carpet IRL, and then I redid the rear-end to add the dual exhaust tips. It looks way better for all versions. I also bought the largest Lego train wheels I could find, but they are too small, so the wagon wheels are the way to go!😎 I also hate the hooks on the side to hold the wires, so I'm planning to replace those as well... Good luck to all my fellow modders!!!
Awesome mods, I think I am going to display the back to the future one version (as it is probably my favourite of the three films) ,or maybe the second version, with the original figures from the dimensions packs and also the two that come in the set on a modified stand. Also I will add the hover board piece from the dimensions pack to the future Marty like u recommend and maybe give the future doc a banana. Thanks so much for the inspiration! Also do u have any advice on how to make purist customs of 1955 doc and Marty from the first film?maybe that could be in the follow up video…
YES! The railroad wheels should’ve been included in the original set! I’m glad you put them in. Although I wish they were brown to match the color of the wheels in the movie
My first thought for a mod would be to change the silver disc on the 1955 wheels. Strange that they chose a piece with stud in the middle. I would also add in another 1x2 grate in the rear left window next to the 3 red cylinders, and perhaps a few tile pieces to go underneath the light switch area as it looks quite hollow with the inner red and yellow pieces visible.
Very impressive work on the trainlorean, thats probably as close as you can easily get to a good block diorama, without going insane with a full train or just making a small front train car just as a display. Those tires would have been awesome in this set to me but i guess since theyre made for rails theydve felt weird in the base. The rails would have skyrocketed price and part number but they look awesome. Imo, if i really wanted to push it id put a plain colored land base underneath the rails, maybe with some stabilizers, and could put just a few same colored plates around the back with a little scenery, maybe, but imo it probably works best like you wound up in this video, more stuff can sometimes be overkill or look worse
I think because the young han solo has 2 face prints, that if you used the hat/hairpiece from the 2020 Woody minifig that it would hide the second face print very well.
Love the MODs to the Delorean Tommy.. it would awesome if you were to do a Moc series for the BTTF 3 Train.. it'd certainly watch them like many other! Go for it👍👍
Those are some great mods! Yep ends up being expensive because tracks of that scale are huge! Haha making the train in that same scale would be pure madness but also AWESOME!
Just brilliant, especially the part 3 version with the rails. And yes, you should consider a matching loco to push the car, or the loco from the end of the movie with the hover capability.
Heck yes brother make the Sierra #3 locomotive!!! I got pieces to make a minfig scale locomotive to go with the 2013 IDEAS DeLorean and I want to see your sacred up version.
I feel like something LEGO could have done with the 3rd movie version involving the wheels is they could have inverted the red dome piece and used a double sided stud piece to attach the chrome piece. Idk just a thought
Epic mods! I think Lego missed a trick not putting train wheels in the kit but otherwise love the kit and the mods. And... yes... the train... Great Scott! Yes. The train.
For a Marty hair replacement there is a similar piece with a side-part on a minifig in a tractor set that’s out right now. It’s a little closer to the film appearance in my opinion.
I love your mods of this car but I cant find your mod instuctions i would like to mod my car Just like your rail Version and also the interieur of my car Can you please sent me the the instrucions and partlist to make this Version of you? Kind regards Ruben
When you show the display stand you made Marty McFly on the far left is missing a hand not sure if that's intentional since he loses his hands part way through the film or not but just wanted to call it out
anyway you can list the mods on here for the plutonium, etc. i only saw the train on your site, which is awesome if you're displaying in that look. i'm doing the bttf2 look mostly, but do like the plutonium and might want to add that as a bonus for outside the car, so it would be nice to know the pieces you used incase i need to order them from bricklink.
Very interesting train wheels! I would probably make the center tiles black to give the impression of negative space and add slightly more realism to them...

There is no way it could be audible they would have to remove the entire cab boiler and wheels
The ELB was also Christianed the Nautilus, because Doc was a huge fanboi of Jules Vern
I think he rails and wheels is the best one, major well done on that
Can't wait to see someone make a giant Sierra No. 3 to go with it.

Genius! 😆
yeah so many have fallen victim to that one XD

The train with track and trainwheels for our current delorean.

I'm sure Lego can reach it they just need to take their time and do the necessary research to make it right.
LEGO Hill Valley Town Square from 1885, 1955, 1985, 1985A, and 2015 would be EPIC.

You'd better show us how to convert it to STOCK delorean!

we need a train that’s still to this scale so you can mount the DeLorean to the front of the train

Nice touch with the disappearing hand on BTTF1 Marty.
This is great, I figured making tracks would be expensive, but to at lease be able to give it some proper wheels will be nice.
