Jim is a great guy! I live in Toluca and knew about the cathedral concert but there was no way to go unless you were invited :/
But I did see the choir at their Saturday Mexico City concert and seeing them perform some of the songs that have touched my heart for years was beautiful and just what I needed back then.
This shows that God can take all experiences and even unpleasant ones and make something good out of it.

Team Jim Bennett all the way!!!!
I love his positive attitude and willingness to build bridges, but still willing to fight for the right!
If the choir ever came to Germany, I would definitely be attending and hopefully meet some of the members!
Yesterday we had a funeral service of one of our church members and the very large family of the deceased sang Holy, holy, holy….I get teary eyed just thinking about it and the Tabernacle Choir sings it beautifully!

I hope the next south American country on tour is here in Brazil where I live with my Brazilian husband. I am a long time former LdS mormon and long time member of Community of Christ. As a gay man, and as a former LdS Mormon guy who stays somewhat current with the more liberal aspects of the "mormon" world, I would disagree that Brother Bennett is an apostate! I appreciate that there is behind the scenes support for LGBTQ community folks who might be part of the organization. Of course when it comes to music and the arts it would be really unusual to have no self identifying or closeted LGBT folks within groups. But since the choir participation requires a temple recommend I would suppose that any gay/bi/lesbian identifying members would be single and celibate, or in a mixed orientation relationship.

Honey, join the single and celibate others in the church. Plenty are straight yet single and chaste. Nothing different is expected. No separate rules... well if you are LGBT, then you get an exception to chastity law. That is the problem with LGBT... they want exceptions and carve outs from God's gospel just for them while plenty of others live chaste lives just fine and do not demand 'inclusion' to sleep around. So, join the Christ alone team and that deep spiritual journey to holiness while chaste.

Being a foreigner I recently learned that there’s a difference in meaning between the words “Lie” and “Deception”. Deception is broader and refers to the act of misleading someone or causing them to believe something that is not true. It may involve lies, but it can also include other tactics like omission, manipulation, or misrepresentation. Deception doesn’t always require direct false statements; it can involve creating a false impression through actions or withholding information.
That is exactly what we will begin to see more often within the church. I recently heard a Brazilian writer say that in our days evil is not easily distinguishable like black and white as it was in the past, she said evil is now transparent, hard to detect. Satan will now begin to work from within the church. That’s why the prophet said: “But in coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.” .
