Good point. In 1828, Martin Harris claims Professor Charles Anthon, a gentleman celebrated for his literary attainments. Professor Anthon stated that the Book of Mormon translation was correct. However, Professor Charles Anthon later denied that he had ever validated either the characters or Joseph's translation
Considering the Book of Mormon - Mormon - Chapter 9: 34 But the Lord knoweth the things which we have written, and also that NONE OTHER PEOPLE KNOWETH OUR LANGUAGE (reformed Egyptian); and because that NONE OTHER PEOPLE KNOWETH OUR LANGUAGE, therefore he hath prepared means for the interpretation thereof.
Whether or not Professor Anton actually saw the translation, iF Mormon Chapter 9:34 is correct, then how would have it been possible for Professor Anthon or anyone else to validate any Book of Mormon translations if NONE OTHER PEOPLE KNOWETH OUR LANGUAGE?

if there were one true church, wouldn't you have to lie to discredit them? He never said he translated it, he had stated that it was in fact reformed egyptian. There's more to it, but I think that suffices.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is guided and directed by the Saviour as the name of His Church indicates. He has also directed us to use the correct name on His Church instead of the Mormon church like you and many others Greg..Had you repented and been baptized into the LDS Church you would have been given the gift of the Holy Ghost ( the third member of the Godhead) and you would not have asked your questions. But it is when we become "smarter" than God that we get into conflict with His truths.

Your understanding of the church of Jesus Christ of later day saints and the Book of Mormon in general is laughable at best.

@@DeveloperChris Greg is supposing that the Mormon self identification as Christian means that they have to play by the rules Christian’s invented, mormons do not think they have to do this. Imagine you go to a private school with a strict dress code, your neighbor does not, and you try to force them to wear a button down shirt to school. They don’t have to play by your rules, forcing them to do so is pretty pointless. Mormons follow the words of their living prophet. It’s extremely convenient because following the living prophet is exactly the precedent set forth in the Bible, in fact following a living prophet is about the only consistent thing in the Bible.
So until he realizes he’s hacking at the weeds all he’s doing is arming sister missionaries with adversity stories for their homecoming talks.

Your approach to religion would be better suited to dungeons and dragons or maybe Star Wars. What are those claiming that they are a religion born of Christ doing with their time and talents? Reaching out to the poor, lonely, forgotten and needy? While their peers are partying at a state college? Or waiting for young missionaries to knock on their door to pad their ego and you tube about it for vanity?
By their fruits you shall know them…let’s see a video on what your doing with your Christ filled life?…

I just flirted with the ladies and they never came back. They were blushing and playing with their hair and everything else, but they never came back.

    Well yes... but actually no.
First of you don't find monotheism in the bible. Nowhere.
Second, we don't hold the bible as authoritative, non even the Book of Mormon for what matters, but the prophets have the authority, same pattern we find both in the old and new testament.
Third, we don't believe Adam was a God. Yes it has been taught he was God, but this doesn't fit anywhere in the bible. Just because it has been taught doesn't mean it is doctrine, in fact it is not. We believe adam was and is Michael, the Archangel.
Fourth, plates were found to be used for writings. God couldn't make plates bigger because people made those and if you were to look a bit closer you'd find that they were carrying those around, with other stuff and they were often in war... they probably needed material and goods during those times and they also probably needed space to bring other important things don't you think?
No change has been made to the story or to the meaning. The grammar has been adjusted and they added punctuation, which is very different from saying that the book was changed many times. Simply, just false.
We don't believe in infallibility so it wasn't translated that way and the Book is not infallible.
There would be more, but I don't have time so I'll just leave this, but give a closer look to the actual history, and actual claims of the church and not just what lds people tell you, cause most of us might not know or not even understand all of it yet. Don't trust me either, I'm dumb.

First of all Adam is NOT Michael the Archangel. Angels (Michael and Lucifer) are 'created' by God, just like everything else, including you and me.
Next, if you say the Book of Mormon is not 'infallible', then that means LDS get to just make up whatever doctrine you feel like on any given day and that has NOTHING to do with the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
Hence, LDS doctrine is based ‘entirely’ on the idea the mormon jesus failed to build a church that would stand against the gates of hell, the mormon jesus abandoned his flock 'twice' (Palestine and America), and the mormon jesus is either a ‘liar’ or 'another' jesus, which is exactly why Paul warned 2000 years ago of those teaching ‘another’ Jesus, a different spirit, and different gospel in 2 Corinthians 11:4, and goes on to explain in verses 14 and 15; “For such men (like Smith) are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light”. God Bless You.

One God, many gods. Just as the other two testaments state. Another pray for pay minister. Thumbs down, blocked.
