Hi Olga. Love these little tidbits. Would you put some tutorials together on how to keep your seams from traveling in a diagonal line when working in the round? If I remember correctly it has something to do with skipping a stitch every other row before the join? Oh my, I definitely don’t remember. 😂😂 Anyhoo, you have a great day.

Thank you very much. Would you be also kindly teach us how to avoid the “normal” single stitch (or whatever stitch) from tilting to the right in rounds please? I watched some videos who taught us but with the same stitch all around. While I was crocheting socks in the rounds with patterns, the seam kept moving to the right , from the side to the back side of the sock. Hence the set of patterns on the front shifted to the back gradually. I couldn’t find a tutorial that can solve this problem. Many thanks.

Thanks Olga! I was doing a square bottom project that starts out with singles and that of course means that when I did my stitch wrong, it affected my corners in a way that I was very displeased with I could not figure out what I was doing wrong. I have spent years perfecting my double crochets so that they stand up very straight, so the top hats are not dragging the stitch to the left or having one leg too much longer than the others or in the grainy sequence each DC does not get larger then the one before it so that my granny squares don't look like the corners are chasing one another around in a circle, before I ever completed a project - that did end up winning a blue ribbon at the State Fair art exibiition in my area.
Thanks for all you do to help us get better at the craft.

The only problem is that it doesn't look as much like knitting though. I've heard you can line the v's up by putting a normal sc at the beginning and end of the row.

This tutorial is for crocheting in the round, not in the row.

Thank you - your stitch placement tips have been invaluable to me, and not just with how happy I am with the final outcome of a project. Bless you.

Thank you, Olga but the pattern looks different now. It doesn’t look like waistcoat stitch any more. You can see vertical lines going on a side of each stitch.

Absolutely agree. Waistcoat stitch is supposed to look like knitted stockinette which the “correct” method here does not.

@@pennyfarthing1372I agree. This is a nice alternative and in swatches I’ve tried, this method isn’t compatible with neat color work if you want to add any motifs or color patterns within the same rows.

Olga, you are a wonderful in teaching the right way to do the waistcoat stitch. Thank you!!!

This looks very neat and tidy. My only challenge with this way is that color work does not turn out as neatly.

But I like the LOOK of the “ wrong” way- like KNITTING. I don’t like your “ right” way.
