I just made 2 hats doing this stitch incorrectly - I think the tilted waistcoat stitch is quite beautiful, but having it aligned is gorgeous. I'm going to try colorwork with this method - thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial!

So, for in the round, go between the legs on the front side and to the left of the legs and under the hat on the back side?
So, when flat, it is just to the left side of the legs and under the hat? The video cuts off so quick that I just want to clarify.

I didn't change colors. That's a self-striping yarn.
