- the Polish Army is expected to receive the first of 180 K2 Black Panther tanks, the K2PL version, which the country ordered from South Korea at the end of 2020. The next stage, Warsaw wants to receive a total of 800 K2 tanks. Part of it will be produced domestically in Poland according to the K2PL standard configuration, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said.

Where is Austalia?
During Leopard 2 and K2 Black Panther test in Norway, K2 tank with S Korean tungsten round was able to penetrate 800mm armor compare to 630mm armor with German tungsten round for Leopard 2. This is kinetic energy penetration thus K2 will be able to penetrate new Russian T90 with Kontackt 5 reactive armor with 800mm kinetic armor protection from over 2km away.
Before others complaining about buying S Korean weapons, ask if the US and Germany has enough chips to build their weapons and offer transfer of technology to Poland. This wasn't just regular business deal. If you worry money or politics over people's lives then sure buy from Washington. Once Washington has leash on your country they will never try to let go like what happened in S Korea. Washington is refusing to transfer control of S Korean military with every kind of excuses and don't want to see Korea unified so US weapons manufacturers can milk billions from S Korea. Every S Koreans knows this. As soon as Poland rely on the US weapons manufacturers then same will happen to Poland. Poland asked for strategic partnership able to transfer technology for Poland defense which S Korea understood with it's own history and gave what Poland needed to build them in Poland so able to resupply parts inside Poland if war happens.
Poland wants to have new tanks soon. And soon only the K2 Black Panther can have. Ultimately, Poland wants to have K2PL tanks. These are to be different tanks than the K2. K2PL are to be longer and have one wheel more (on each side). They are to have armored partitions in ammunition storages. The front and side armor is to be thicker. This will lengthen the chassis of the tank and increase the number of wheels. The specificity of the terrain and the potential enemy of South Korea mean that the armor of K2 tanks is sufficient. Poland needs better armored tanks.
They are starting the first batch of the K-2PL this year buying 180 tanks over the next two years. The production lines are largely set up and will be building the new tanks and K-9 Krab at high production rates. They have a 14 year plan to get their troops in fighting condition.
Poland buy 1000 tank K2 250 Abrams SEPV3 116 ABRAMS M1 and have 250 Leopard 2 Modernized to standard PL
The first non-K2PL 180 tanks. Korean version of K2. Bringing some of the 4th production tanks to be deployed in Korea to Poland. In this way, the delivery time to Poland has been reduced. After that, about 500 units of K2PL will be delivered, and 300 units will be produced locally in Poland. Finally, the first 180 tanks that were initially delivered are upgraded to the PL version. (But, quantity of 500 made in Korea and shipped to Poland is not exact and subject to adjustment.)

Poland can now invade Russia without getting stuck in the mud or Russian winters. Was designed for the mountains of Korea and monsoon season. Typical Korean overkill.
I suggest Poland to consider about Aegis ship from Korea. We are making excellent Aegis battle ship.
Navy is a subordinate in Poland national defense.

They are going to produce the first batch of 180 tanks by the end of this year, that fast due to the K-9 production line. It is a multi decade plan with the Abrams A2C as an interim measure and after that the armoured fist of a predominantly K-2PL tank force. They had a very fast growing economy that lately has been switching to military production. They are buying a lot of modern technology and selling/gifting the old Soviet era weapons.

They will definitely build more K2PL tanks, having the possibility of production in Poland in a few years ... these numbers are understated, the minimum they will probably build from 1500 units

Why is Poland procuring 3 different MBTs?
cause there will be sooner delivered than waiting for more Abrams or Leopards, but why you say 3 MBT? I only know about deals to get Abrams and K2
M1 and K2 will be the only tanks when this is done - first all t-72 and pt 91 will be withdrawn , then leopard 2 will go as well - older M1 will be upgraded to sep v3 later on, first batch K2 will be upgraded to K2PL later on as well.
@@CairSilverwolf, thank for the clarification on the Leopard 2s. I have read that the Leopard 2 is an excellent tank; why not just update the existing fleet of this platform and buy new Leopards to replace the T-72s and PT-91s? It seems that operating a single type fleet would be much more efficient to sustain than operating the M1 and K2.
So as not to be reliant on any single nation?
@@toddbrackett4277 there is a lot of issue when it comes to buying and upgrading Leo2 from germany:
1) Germany currenty dont have a way to mass produce leo2 anymore( czech contracted 40 or 50 tanks and delivery will take few years so for poland to aquire 800-100 tanks will take forever)(germany use old LeoA4 variant from storage to make a7+ version themselve)
2) Poland wants ability to manufacture and service their own tanks (Huge transfer of technology and infrastructure from Korea)+future cooperation on K3 variant with korea
3) Poland is in a process of upgrading their Le2 a4 to Leo2Pl standard and aparently its a nightmare cuz german side is postponing delivery of parts etc etc(its goin slow af)

Tanks ! No matter how good they are , they can easily be destroyed by Drones . Drones can carry up to 8 missiles .. 240 Armenia Tanks were destroyed by TB2 drones .. look it up ... Russia calls it a special military Operation , USA calls it a Invasion ... all Russia has done is move in Artliillery and infantry and won every battle
Drones are a threat to tanks but there is a big difference between the T-72s with 1970s Soviet technology used by Armenia and what the Polish are buying?

You absolutnie wrong with bayraktar drones they are average nothing more yust russia dosent have equipment to eliminate tb2 no electronic warfare and air defence if you have them drones are nie effective.
Drones can easily be destroyed as well by jamming and physically by firing missles at them.
