- This episode is all about topwater mouse Fly Fishing! Get ready for some strike action!
I have been thinking about trying micepatterns at this small creek for a while. I have always loved the imagination of a big native browntrout taking a mousefly at the surface. And in this creek there are a few hidden gems of browntrout.
Finally I decided to give it a go. Even though I didn't fly fish for long I had quite some action.
And I even missed my biggest trout ever! Twice!
Small creek fly fishing for brown trout with mouse flies is so sick!
Tight Lines everybody🤙🏼

Glad you kept at it, looks like a fun little Creek.
Thanks, it for sure is a great creek😜🤙🏼
Good time of year for mouse
Dude props to you for not getting tangled all over the damn place. Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub! I have to admit that I do get tangled up sometimes in there😅✌🏼
I'm so happy to see the video from you. I missed you and your videos. Some good action and as always your comments were great.
Hey Charlie, yeah I know... Maybe I will upload some new videos soon. Thanks for the great feedback as always!
2:00 am…. The big ones eat mice! Tie your mouse on a tube…with the hook trailing well back near the tail.. Count to two before you set the hook. Great video!
3:08 that is a feeling I know. it hurts. Biggest fish I've ever caught went down stream of me and bent the hook out. It was at least 22 inches.
Cool keep up the good work.
Thanks buddy I will😜🤙🏼
Your a classy young man......best wishes always ......will check out your other videos......one of the best exports to the United States .....from England- Scotland - Germany....the brown trout ......the backbone of fly fishing streams the midwest
if u want to mouse more successfully i would recommend going at night, because they are more confident to eat at night
I thaught about it! But not it's too late in the year already. But next year I will try that for sure! Thanks for the recommendation🙏🏼
It's nice to see some brown trout in their native land
Totally agreed! I always feel blessed when catching or even just seeing native browntrout because there aren't many unfortunately✌🏼
Nice job!
Thanks buddy!
Love fishing mice patterns here in Montana . Some of the takes freak you out BANG 💥
That's what it's all about! 🙌🏼😜
Nice challenge!
Thank you very much! But it wasn't an easy challenge😅
Cool vid 👍
Thanks a lot! Appreciate it🙌🏼
@@WildeFische no problem, obviously subscribed 🙂
Did you enjoy watching? ✌🏼
Immer 😂
Were you angling in the Hurtigan Forest?
Nice video
Thanks buddy😊🤙🏼
i like your video characteristic
and i like your music
Jo thank you very much! Means a lot🙌🏼
💯👏👏👏👏👊
Great video! I haven't seen that stripping technique before, using your middle fingers. I will give it a try!
Thanks buddy! Actually a lot of people tell me about my different stripping technique😅 It just feels natural to me this was😉 But give it a try for sure!
What leader length would you use
I usually use like 8-9ft when fishing mouse patterns in such difficult conditions✌🏼
Brilliant atmosphere! Do you use a floating line? Could you please write what the leader looks like? Greetings from Poland.
Thank you man! Yes I use a floating wf. I tie my leaders myself. Basically I just tie different diameters of line together to make a leader which gradually goes thinner. I mainly use 0,45mm to 0,40mm to 0,35mm to 0,30mm to 0,25mm to 0,20mm to 0,18 mm for streamers and for nymphs and dry flies I add 0,16mm and 0,14mm. Hope that helps🤙🏼✌🏼
Very cool video. I love fishing the smaller streams. One thing I noticed...when you cast upstream to your right & across your body you tend to strip back without the rod tip pointed at the fly. I think that contributes to the misses. You point the tip right at the fly on retrieve when you cast to your left and your hookup ratio seems to be much better. Not at all trying to be critical...just helpful. Cheers.
Thanks dude! I also love the small streams😍 And thanks for the advice. I might try that next time😊🤙🏼
Excellent tip, I miss my fair share too. Thanks for your advice.
@@mr.robinson1982 happy to help...tight lines.
What country is this
Germany. The very south of actually✌🏼
Brauch man schein/papier um zu fischen?
Ja braucht man.
@@WildeFische haha... schoes Deutschland. Viele schone Fluss in DE.
A bad day of fishing beats any good day @ work with 2 EXCEPTIONS. 1) winning the office pool lottery & 2) Watching your icehole of a boss get his butt chewed off & fired. Try using a purple wooly bugger. Have a great day/night.
Thanks for the comment bro! I always thaught the only way a day at work could be better is when you're going fishing with your workteam😂😂 What makes a purple Wooly so good? Never heard of that😅
The purple wooly is fantastic in the early morning or late @ night. You can make them cheaper than you can buy them if you can find them. I make both kinds of (P.W.B) beaded & beadless.. The Beadless stay closer to the surface when using a floating line. Works best before the sun cracks the sky. I have 3 go to lures, P.W.B., a minnow that is a black nosed dace (but using only white, black & grey bucktail) & a grey/white/black mouse. Works awesome in medium-- fast moving water or around lilly pads...
Im without my flyrods now as its still winter here March 5, 2021(I think) & my spools are @ the house. Each November when the snow starts falling, I clean the fly line & store them for winter using a special hanger. With the fly line clean if you don't un-spool yours when you first get out , you'll have the line circles but if you use a hanger to store your line as an un-spooled line that hangs from the ceiling in an unused room. The line goes down, up, down, up, down, up. As many times as is necessary to keep it off the floor. When I go to reel it back up in a month & then cast it out, it'll be straight & not have the curly cues...Its hard to explain. But When I get home I'll take a photo & show you. Im a OTR driver, so when I am home next, it'll be almost April. #WildeFishe
Thanks man that sounds awesome! I can imagine purple working really good at dawn! ✌🏼
I do the same thing for lines which already have a little memory. Clean them and hang them up for a few weeks. Their brand new again!
But honestly I don't have any memory problems with new lines. I just clean them once or twice a year but I don't take them of the spool...
omg go guys learn to set the freekin hook..you killing me.
Dude teach me if you know better😉🤙🏼
whats your name and where is this ??
I won't mention my name here😉 But this is in southern germany✌🏼
you surf much?
Sorry? I do surf but how do you know? 😅
