That poor engine. It was living its best life, just ticking away until retirement and now its being pushed within an inch of its life to an early sudden death. :)
I love it! What a fun combo and impressive engine work to get those results.
For a while I pondered who would build such a monster boat, but then I spotted the Finnish flag which immediately explained everything to me...
:D
Because Finland.
absolutely..

Hieno vene ja moottori, Itse pääsin Fridden veneen kyytiin ab. 2005 ja oli aivan mahtavaa olla hänen veneen kyydissä, Fridde oli tosi mukava ihminen terveiset Sepolta !
Legend says there was so much pressure in the charger that air molecules formed a micro black holes and flew out from exhaust and that explains the dark colour of exhaust fumes.. ;D
That is a thing a beauty!!! Makes my heart proud
Love the old hull. Perfect candidate for your project. Looks good, easy access and classy.
That is beautiful. Sounds amazing
Det där är vad jag kallar en riktig båt!
Very nice video!!
Would a couple of hydraulically adjustable trim tabs on the stern help counter/stop the porpoising?
Spot on!👊🏻🇺🇸
a powerful diesel engine speedboat.. fantastic..👍
Thats a fast fanny 🤣
I wonder, how do you keep a wooden hull intact at this speed?
and little bit more 👍🤗
Hi I’m building a boat with a Cummins in it can you tell what gear ratio and propeller you using
I always envisioned a diesel powered boat or pontoon. I was thinking about a two stroke Detroit diesel of about 8V71 or a duplex pair of 6-71 in line 6’s everyone would know it when you had it on the lake.
This looks scary fast. Question do you have to run road diesel or can you use farm fuel?
Here in Finland we have only one specification of diesel oil and it will be similar than your diesel for passenger cars. Still it is possible to use also farm quality, but due to lower cetane index starting performance are worse with it.
@@HolsetHE We have the lower tax fuel for farm use, same stuff but different color and tax. I would guess thats not allowed to be used on boats..
Sounds like an old v12 hydroplane😂
If something looks like going fast on a video... It is FAST
Could you get it packaged small enough to Cummins swap a wake boat
I think the reason the motor is so far forward is all the transmission and overdrive boxes it takes to get much high end speed from a diesel. The low RPMs compared to a gas motor hurt speed way more than just a prop pitch can help. I'm pretty sure this is an inboard type drive almost like a ski boat except the motor faces the right way instead of backwards like a v drive.
@@miketee2444 conventional shaft and reduction box layout. Too much rpm is not efficient for a immersed prop.
@@miketee2444 shaft drive, less angle from the horizontal is better.
Herlevi näköjään vähä virittäny
Goes to show how well built old wooden boats are, its not ment for those kind of forces.
Sitte France Helics pintapotkuri perään vielä.
Kilometre per hour
Herra mun vereni. Kulkee kuin piru myrskyn edellä.
What sort of mpg or gph are you getting?jet drive or vdrive?
Someone Said its 50 knots with 9 passengers
I guess shaft thru the bottom.....
Even though fuel is expensive on Finland, I think that no one really cares about consumption.
@@neppisskaba Besides, you can probably run it on vegetable oil as well.
It consumes litres.
Whats the top speed, the gearbox's ratio and size of this boat?
Ratio is about 1.15, but i am not sure. With 6 guys, top speed is 50knots, maybe more.

I think this is fantastic, but what is the point? In perfectly flat water you will get to your destination in quarter of the time. Then what? What do you do in the second hour? If the wind and water are up you will not be able to use all that power. And there is the issue of the porpoising. Makes for an uncomfortable ride. Good luck.
Maybe it's just fun to see the engine at work and listening turbo sounds.
Cummins paras moottori. Kutos moottorin ääntä kuuntelisi vaikka koko päivän jee.
Juu on hieno moottori kerrassaan
