- Merlin takes the Cummins boat out on the water to test it. Last time the transmission wouldn't shift and it was a disaster. This time he is hoping for a better result after taking the valve body to the dyno. You don't want to miss this day on the water!
I love your passion for history Merlin. Our ancestors did so much that we benefit from today and we should remember their hard work and sacrifice, they did it for us.
Really enjoy the giving back. The local museum should be thankful. Mailer looks great.
Good run, glad the transmission shifted properly. Hard to pull the heat away with warm water. The mail truck looks excellent, it turned out really nice. Should be a nice addition to the museum.
looks like the decal is askew a bit on the mail trike
Hey Merlin..
Thanks for taking us along on Test Drive #2!!
Always a great time seeing the passion you have with these projects... you are truely a master of your "art"...
Very kind of you to donate the mail buggy to the local museum..love that you take such pride in the history of your town and do your part to perpetuate the historic pieces.
Safe travels, friend❤️
Stay FROSTY...
Keep your powder dry and your head on a swivel...

I can't picture somebody skiing in the black smoke screen, but anybody that would ski behind Merlin is certifiable anyways . . . ..
Nice job! For those that don’t know, 75 is fast on the water, let alone 100. We had an old Hydroswift (Utah company, now out of business) that did 50 after some tweaking. Not many boats kept up with it. Long story short Merlin’s boat is fast!
I had a deep vee slalom ski boat with a 2 ltr straight 6 Mercury outboard, many moons ago. My guess is we got that up to 70+ on the sea, it was brutal hitting every other swell-top, we ended up battered and bruised, but what fun that boat was!
75 on water can be deadly if shit hits the fan. That's fast!!
A friend has a fast boat, every mph on the water comes hard!
To get from 75 clear to 100, that Cummins has to be healthy!!!
If anyone can pull it off, it'll be Merlin.
I think Mark went 132 at the old "Shooters" on Lake of the Ozarks".
I'm old. I can remember when 30 was the fast boat on the lake.
@@MaxNafeHorsemanship me too
This is the most amazing thing I have seen in a long time. I never knew this was possible, now I want one to run around the lakes here in the Ozarks. Well done.
I go to havavsu every year for vacation I would be absolutely honored to come check this thing out
Great job on getting the transmission fixed, watched the last video, cool way to test the transmission before installing. Great video Merlin, keep up the great work.
Glad to see the Cummins boat back in the water. Sweet flames out the exhaust. Can't wait until new propeller is installed. Keep up the great videos.
Freaking Merlin out there living my dream as I look at my boat in my garage in tucson in the middle of winter I’m over it
At first I was thinking, watta waste, but after seeing the flame show, I was sold, lol
116 DEGREES ON THIS DAY. MYYYYYYYYY GOD. You can keep that my friend lol 😆
Hi from across the pond. I was told the chap that bought the old London bridge though he was buying Tower Bridge (the one that opens up) Great boat I'm jealous!
Hey this is the first time I`ve ever subscribed to a channel...Saw you on the wrecker games and absolutely fell in love with your rig.....old school power wagon with a Cummins...It does not get any better...Plus you don`t drive like a wimp...
Merlin
I'm Frickin impressed by your work 💪 love that Cummings and the Boat
Have a Great Day 👍God Bless America
Merlin that is an awesome makeover on the postal three wheeler . You do such a wonderful job on all that you do. I love seeing all your work you do or have done
I absolutely love the flame followed by the coal freight training off of it! Must look absolutely amazing at sunset from a distance. Another bucket list item added too the list ☺️.
KICK ASS BOAT...old school, hot rod, Cummins 12 valve Merlin style. I think that pretty much sums it up. Cool video with lake, bridge and sunset shots.
I staggered over that bridge in the early 60's a few times, probably barfed over the side a few times as well. Good old London🙂
Beautiful boat and family. Thanks for sharing.
Love your boat there's nothing like triple digits in a boat.So cool a speed boat with 12 valve Cummins I'm sure it surprises a lot of people I have had many boats over the years I just sold my Hydrostream Viking with 280 Merc outboard it would run 107 mph scary fast.I owned it for 26 years. Your youtube channel is the best keep the videos coming.
My dad drove one of the Cushman 3 wheel Post Office Trucks in his early days on an old route, and I remember some of the stories of the issues they had with those things.
Looks like your co captain and camera lady was having a good time she was the best looking thing on the lake. Fun videos. Thanks for sharing.👊👍😎
Damn, Merlon! I've not had a Der Weinerschitzel hotdog since I lived in Hobbs back in the 70s!!
Nice boat, but wouldn’t want to ski behind it! LOL
Good to see you guys out at Chico's today, and always fun chatting with you. Great to see the boat rolling through the channel as well.
The Boat is coming along nicely ! Loving the Postal Van ! Thanks foe Sharing !
Awesome job on the Cushman. Happy to the trans works well this time. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing. I worked with caterpillar one time to turn up a 3512A to get 2250 hp after about 15 minutes it was shooting a 6 foot flame out of the exhaust stack. We named it puff the magic dragon. That was the mid 90’s things have changed a lot sense then. I love all diesel engines each has a special place in my life.
Thanx for the tour & history, definitely interesting. Not to mention all the tech you've put into that boat. Pride in craftsmanship in all that you do, Kudo's!
Merlin you have a fantastic mind for working on things like that. I love your videos and wishes all the luck in the world. I am in. Hope she’s get a lot of footage. I’m taking them a JetSki’s down that river in July. This is a Godly redneck should have
I love the boat and jet sky videos
I love that you restored that mail truck and going to donate it ,that's too cool.
Looking forward to seeing you and Paul coming around on the lake when he gets that boat fixed up that he got from lake Powell.
Sweet to see the boat working as you had hoped it would.
I would think the lake authorities wouldn’t like all that smoke. Pretty boat.
This is awesome to see the Cummins boat up, and doing its thing! Nice beautiful shots of the London Bridge, and all the other beautiful landscapes! Get'r did! :)
Need to start doing Saturday evening ski shows again under the bridge
Beautifully done love the flame shots out of the exhaust beautiful boat. I love the sunset. Great job.
I was 15 the first time I drove across that Bridge, back in '74. Been on it many times sense. I do enjoy the lake. Glad you have got that Bad Ass Fire Spitting Monster of a boat running good. Can't wait til you put the new prop on. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Glad to see you worked things out.
I just caught this video and thanks for sharing!

Love his Video's he Build's such awsome Vehicles and what him and the Kid did to his Truck.
I’m pretty sure I seen this boat cruising thru the channel last year definitely a head turner. Love the boat! found this channel this past winter and realize that’s the boat I had seen lol great channel keep up the content!
I really like what you do. I’ve been a Cummins lover since my first 98 12 valve. I love your boat. Such a cool idea and build.
Very nice video. Great content! I appreciate all you guys effort for doing this!
👍👍 right on Mr.Merlin..the boat's kick ass...thank you for another video 👊
I really like the way you do it for the passion in your heart
Man after my own heart...vintage jet boats and Der Weinershnizel! Just wish i was in AZ and not IL!
A hot dog and a nap had me laughing my ass off. A man of simple things. Nice boat btw.
Amazing video you guys !!!!
I read years ago that this London Bridge's original stones are just a veneer. To save on shipping, the faces of the stones were sawed off and that's all that was sent over; just the facade. So very little of the actual London Bridge remains!
That boat is incredible, Merlin. Good thing you lady doesn't mind going fast on the water, mine gets a bit nervous when it's a bit choppy at speed.
Good run, can't wait see to see it go with new prop, truly enjoyable channel, always excited for a new post
Mighty nice rig you got there Merlin
CONGRATS ON MAIL TRUCK LOOKS GREAT!... YOUR BOAT IS A FIRE BREATHING MONSTER!! HOLY CRAP!
Good stuff. Luv the old rides. Stay safe.
Driven over that old bridge many times in London and couple of times in Havasu. What a backdrop to a powerful boat!
You are awsome thank you for sharing 🏁🇺🇸🏖
I had a similar problem on my pulling truck so we switched to reinforced high pressure lines for the trans lines and it fixed the issue. Expensive for hose but well worth it boats looking and sounding awesome❤❤
Glad the boat shifted thank you for taking us out on the lake I miss living there
Nice job, that is sweet boat!
Looks like you guys are having way too much fun. A better type/quality coolant hose and good to go. Thanks for sharing.
Great boat! Mail truck looks awesome!
Im 64 but when I was grade school age we went there and rented a paddle boat and you could see where they numbered all the bricks to reassemble it here. Not much of a town there at the time.
Great job on the Cushman mail cart or maybe trike
wow the postal truck looks better then new & congrats the boats great !
Our family and friends family came to see the bridge the first year it had water under it .
We told the guy at some gas station we were on the way to see the London Bridge.
He showed us a road map with a picture of the bridge, and he told us to not waste our time going out there.
I do remember it was HAWT !!!
that is so rad and yes it is VERY HOT here
Had no idea the water was so warm! Looks like you had alot of Fun!
The boat was cool. Cant wait to see new prop run
She is running great congratulations
You rock happy for ya that boat is sweet Thank for the video
Family time on the lake, Livin the Dream Buddy, you deserve it!
Bad ass!!! Love it man!
German 101: Der Wiener, Das Schnitzel when combined = Das Wienerschitzel!
Very nice Merlin...
You gave me a flash back to 1993. No hole is too deep or sloppy when you are driving with a big Johnson!
Love that boat. Shes definitely alittle on the HOT side...LOL..Great Video...
Love the channel Merlin, that little mail truck turned out great and love the Cummins boat! :)
Nice job that speedboat is a beast Merlin, haha hard at play need food & a nap I totally appreciate that & I'm only 55, great video thank's for sharing 😉👍
You Rock Marlin one VERY SMART MAN what a Boat omg so detailed love it ok Thank you Take Care 👍❤️✌️💪🏻
I have been saying for 40-some years that if a person was to put an automatic transmission in a fast boat with more pitch in the prop than the engine could handle at low rpm. The transmission would shift to a lower gear and when the boat comes out of the hole and reduces drag it would shift. I always wanted to try it on a 3-point hydro or tunnel hull. But everyone said it wouldn't work and they all laughed and said I was nuts to even try it. I'm so glad to see someone actually try it and prove that the theory works.!!!
we put a heater core inside a deep trans pan and run coolant or water through the pan. we learned this on mud racing trucks that disappear in mud and not burn up now.
You hooligan! Blipping the throttle under the bridge is not the sort of thing us grown ups are supposed to do! 😉 I grew up in Essex in the UK, sometimes a bunch of us would head south through the Dartford Tunnel (often on the way to Brands Hatch) on our motorcycles, and pretty much every single biker tested the echo from the tunnel walls by using way to low a gear in order to max the engine rpm. To be fair, were were a bit younger than you.
And that's how you do it, good job brother
for the new prop test run, I'll get binoculars and watch from the bank.
100 mph-ish on the water, for some reason scares me a bit. No issue
with cars or aircraft. Love the Mail Truck ! A running and driving
museum piece.
The guys that race jetboats have a special lifevest with a cord that hooks to the side of the seat so if a wave bounces you out it pops a parachute so it slows you down while keeping you headed in the water feet first and Kevlar lined shorts so no water goes in where solids come out
That is one awesome boat Merlin!!!😁😁👍👍💪
The Cummins reminds me of all the equipment that Felonious Gru runs.
Mail buggy looking awesome.
That's one bad ass Cummins powered boat you have there sir
Bad ass man them flames in the sunset are just some wicked shots and the bad ass sound of the 12 valve sheesh the boat looks Hella fun to steer cummins 💯🇺🇲👌🏻
You did a really nice job on this boat but seriously, who wants huge black clouds from a boat?! I certainly wouldn't want to ski behind that boat or honestly be on the same lake with that exhaust.
Nice video.
Being in Havasu and having boats, did you know my friend Russ Nyland? He used to tow boats all over that lake! Love the channel man! R.I.P. Russ and Ashleigh Nyland
Just found your channel awesome content, after seeing the flames out the exhaust stack I now know why the old head was cracked so bad😁
its rolling coll love it
I'm ready for a ride! Also planning to take the kids to the museum after the Mailster is there.
As long as you film lolol 🤣… I think Kierin & I are the only 2 ppl that have said let’s go again. 🥹🫶🏼😮💨
@@Imavalentine I’ll hold that camera any day for a ride in the Cummins boat!
That's pretty cool idea.
What a cool mail truck ❤️❤️
