Makay Campbell Buys a Campbell Boat! He has Dreamt of this Moment for So Long

- @MerlinsOldSchoolGarage and his buddy Makay go to look at a Campbell boat and Makay ends up buying it! He has dreamt about this his entire life and he finally achieved his goal. The smile on his face says it all.
My wife asked what to get me for my birthday coming up, I said "Merlins Old School Garage T-shirt merch! Duh"
Mines on the 11th of October, a MOSG t-shirt is a great idea.
Congrats to McKay for his dream but, I saw a Harley Electra glide when I was a kid, I was 10, long story short at 65 I bought one, you are never too old to chase your dream

I just love those old school day cruisers. Back in the 80's I would rip across Lake Havasu in my 21' Sleek Craft day cruiser. With a 350 Chevy and Mercruiser out drive it would hit 60 mph in calm water. My Buddy ran a 21' Caribbean day cruiser with a big block Chevy and Bravo 1 out drive he could hit 70 mph. Those were the days. Thanks for the memories......................This old Cali boy misses Havasu

In the early 70’s we were on a family vacation in Vegas. We had a place in McGregor Iowa on the Mississippi and boated with a 21’ Skiff Craft plank wood boat that I think was made by the Amish in Ohio. It was a deep V and very good river boat. We stumbled on a boat dealer that had a boat very much like McCay’s Campbell. I’m not sure of the make but I remember it was primarily white with multi colored metallic green graphics. I’m pretty sure it was new and my dad negotiated the sale price to $10,000. My mom was livid. Needless to say my mom won out by threatening divorce. I don’t think they spoke for the rest of the trip which made for a long ride back home in the Country Squire. I’ve never forgotten that boat. Awesome boat that brought back a ton of memories. Thanks for taking us along

What a beautiful Campbell! I would love to find a 20' Spectra Day Cruiser full stringer with a 454/jet. Great day on the lake! The Blackhawk was an added bonus too. Keep up the great work on the channel, one of my favorites to follow!
1:53 thats interesting, indoor fans with pressed cardboard "wood" or whatever fan blades do the same in humid climats when used outside
Really good lookin day cruiser, glad to see that McKay found what he’s been lookin for. Was really surprised to see that it’s a v-drive, was expecting to see a jet drive setup. The throttle kinda threw me as well. Half expected it to have a hot foot with that throttle lever used for the transmission linkage. Learn something new every day.

Nice old classic. I had an 82 Sanger v-drive but always wanted a Schiada. I came close one time it had a 540ci big block tall deck with Barry Grant built carb, THM400, Casale, and cavitation plates. I rode and drove the boat on lake Gogebic in the UP of Michigan. I still regret not taking it home.
I would love to live there. I love in Wisconsin or the Menominee Indian Reservation and I hate winter. It gets so cold and lasts forever 😭

That's a really nice old boat!! I do like doing the lake thing on a hot day!! I've made many trips out to Havasu from eastern Nebraska (16 times). Last trip was in 06 so it's been a while. Love seeing the lake and I always enjoy seeing what you're up to!!!
We had a big wooden Campbell cabin cruiser when I was little. Great memories of cruising the Delaware and Chesapeake bays❤❤ I can still smell the mahogany
Always nice to go out on the lake. Just took mine out for the last time this season since it got up to 60 degrees outside
I seen all that seaweed at the dock where Merlin got on the boat and was thinking if any of that got sucked up into the intake that might be an issue with the cooling and performance but looks like things are good so nice boat Makay! It's been many years since we used to do the river trips had a place in Topock AZ. To many crazy people any more to deal with the over crowded river weekends but it was good times now memories !! 🤔👍👍👍
My step dad had a cambel boat with a inline six with a 4barrel carb he could never get it to plane out but we water skied behind it and was a lot of fun great video and keep up the good work God bless from GA stay safe

Always liked Campbell boats. Nice find. I am going to be on Havasu in a little while in my Hallett Vector.
So on Lake Havasu one side is AZ and the other is CA is that right. I live on the great lakes on the Canadian side and right across from me is Sandusky, Ohio it's a blast in the summer all the people from Ohio come over here all summer long our Marina is filled with people from Ohio but we got great fishing and awesome islands like Pelee Island and on the US side there is Kelly's island and Put In Bay some awesome party spots and Ceder Point the big amusement park is in Sandusky its a awesome place if you love roller coasters and itès right on the lake I drive my boat over and dock in their marina and it's a blast .

For a heavy glass boat that thing pops right out of the water. Good score , enjoy it. We will want to see some more water time.

A mid 50's Mahogany HiLiner powered by a mid 50's Evenrude Big Twin with the Jubilee Helm was my dream boat. I know its an older dream but they were gorgeous boats and the 18 to 22 foot models could be out all day running about on 12 to 15 gallons of gas.

You don’t need to shift outta the hole,,,,,, only use 2nd when loaded down and pulling towing skier then knock into 3rd. Other wise 3rd all the time. Just giving 2 cents. GREAT BUY AND CONGRATULATIONS on a absolute iconic HOT BOAT cruiser. Can’t wait to see it supercharged.👍🏻
