Merlin, what looks like low power wires along the railroad tracks were probably railroad signal wires. They were used for communications between stations before there was national phone systems and radios on the trains.

Many in today's world would have simply tied the winch to the front of the truck, and drug it onto the trailer. Merlin, this man thanks you not only for rescuing automobile history, but also for allowing the former owner's friends to help load it. That was a wonderful gesture.

Ever time I see an old vehicle it makes me amazed at the condition some are in. Hope you keep this vehicle in it's old glory. Hate to see this one some cut up instead of reclaiming. What a parade vehicle it would make and the history of it's manufacture. Thank you for sharing this journey. Keep us up to date as you restore the truck. I am almost as old as the truck. Again Thank you.

This is one of the coolest trucks I've seen in years. This brings me back to my childhood and my grandfather had one of those trucks for his moving company as a toddler I would escape out to the yard and climb in and play in it I spent hours and months inside before I figured out how to get keys and fire it up I was just a little guy under 5 thumping up and down the road with my grandpa and dad riding in the middle and loving life. I have been looking for a long time for his truck I have a door with his company logo from it hanging in my shop it's been in the same spot for 45 Year's. I can't wait to see the videos on this one coming back to life. This is been a great video with some awesome old guys. Keep up the good work.

Just a note, Loveland isn't around Colorado Springs & Pueblo, it's up north of Denver, not too far from Ft Collins. That old truck probably went into Wyoming, Nebraska, & Kansas back in the day. I live in the Midwest, I've been driving a big truck all through the area for over 32 years.
I've done that drive across I-40 so many times.

As a matter fact, I will contribute to to a fund for Terry's trip cost to go see that truck runnin' down the road in "Lake Havasu" I'm serious! Kudos to you for getting that one back on the road but a BIG kudos to Terry for saving that truck. He has a dream and I hope he gets to see it run. Ah ... the old iron bridge over the Rio Puerco, I've crossed it many many times, there used to be a little cafe on the west side of the river that I always ate at. That was back when I hauled milk from Phoenix to Albuquerque and then deadheadup to either Monte Vista or Alamosa Colorado to pick up potatoes to deliver to the Lays potato chip plant in Casa Grande, Az. That was way before electronic log books and I used to make that triangle 3 times a week.

Merlin, saw latest video, can I make a suggestion on changing a flat tire on a trailer with more than one axle.?
When you get a flat on the front axle, break the lug nuts first. Then put three short pieces (12-18 inches) stacked as a climbing rack with boards laying flat behind the rear tire. Back the truck,/trailer backwards up and onto the stacked boards. This action of the trailer lifting up the ramp will pick up the front axle do you can change the front axle wheel
You do the opposite when the rear tire is flat, you stack the boards in front of first axle tire and drive forward this lifts rear tire off ground. Old time farmer trick.
Thx for all the work you do . G
