- @MerlinsOldSchoolGarage travels to Mt. Carmel Jct. Utah to the 12th annual car show at the Thunderbird golf course. Merlin meets up with @FabRats, @MattsOffRoadRecovery, @Rudysadventureanddesignreal and @chadsfab while at the car show! Matt drives a Model T for the first time! The guys also work on a model A that hasn't ran since the 1960's! This episode is one full of nostalgia!
I think camera lady deserves a raise 😆😆
I have absolutely no idea how you are going to top this video: the variety of what you share with us on The Tube is a blessing! Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to bring us along. God Bless - we in inter web land are lucky to have you!
By far, one of the best channels on RUclips. No BS, just good stuff!
Glad you guys found the mother load at Fab Rats! Hope you enjoyed the bounty!
I have a nice big Apricot tree in my yard, but It hasn't made any fruit in the past few years.. Do you guys have any idea why? or what I can do to get them to make fruit again? I used to get nearly 20 5gal buckets off of it: now it never makes any fruit at all. I don't get it
We had the opportunity to pick a bunch of fruit from Paul's yard a couple of years ago. It tasted great!
@@calholliyou know what what I grew up we had an apricot tree, it probably needs the roots aer rated it has similar process for citrus trees it's expensive because you have to dig deep.
Thank you for being a care taker of history. And inspire a new generation. While doing cool things.
That was definitely one your BEST video segments Merlin , it showed all aspects of what your all about and your dedication to the Vintage Automotive presentation and keeping it alive 👍 👌 👏, Kudos to you all and thankyou for being you.
Merlin grabs a screwdriver, tweaks a 62 yr parked car. Has it puuurrring! Puts his screwdriver away and smiles!!!
The screwdriver came out of his eye glass repair kit
It's the same one he used in King Arthur's court.
Possibly related to Dr Who's sonic screwdriver.@@timkaldahl
Not a screwdriver - its Merlins wand
The only thing that I know about him is he really does not halfway do things just look at that this beautiful antique truck re more than likely brought back from the grave yard or better said junkyard he did not do a crappy job with it just look at it people please that'truck will live for ever now that it's gotta unstoppable heart In it as long as it's a cat I really do believe that it's going to out live myself and a lot of other people on God's beautiful Green earth that we all live on now a days okay thanks and good night to those those people who are reading this statement and of course you also MR Merlin sweet dreams to whoever wants them good night later on Charles Williams ⚡😎❤️🤍💙🌈⚡ all American yes I am so proud to be one living on on God's beautiful Green earth In Jesus name amen
I’ve said it before, but it’s inspiring to see someone with so much passion for persevering history. Thank you,Melin, for your dedication.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Agree, Merlin himself Is History In Its self.
Love the stories, love the old vehicles, admire your abilities. Keep on truckin'!
Oooo. Peach preserves and crab apple jelly!!!!!! With biscuits and eggs. A little piece of heaven for sure on a sunny Sunday morning. Amen.
Thank you Merlin for taking us for a road trip! 👍 For someone who lives on the other side of the pond, with limited recourses, this will problaby be my only way to experience that beautiful area! ❤️ Best wishes to you all from Sweden! 🇸🇪 (And thank you for sharing your history with us. ❤️)
And ditto from Downunder - Australia. Great video, thanks !
@johnnyhomegrownholmgren9999 thats awesome your able to see these interesting things that Merlin does on the other side of the pond.. But I also like that you said "on the other side of the pond" I thought I was 1 of very few that live on the other side of the pond from you that says "on the other side of the pond" even tho it is a huge ocean.. haha.. Hope your having a awesome day/week/month/year/life on the other side of the pond in beautiful Sweden..
Merlin, you are the man! Starting a vehicle that's sat for 61 yrs. Inspiring the young that there's nothing you can't accomplish if you put your mind to it! They see your accomplishments and want to start on their own dreams of preserving what the fore fathers of the automotive industry started! Til next time, take care, and we'll see you on the next. 😊
Hey Merlin don't tell Matt or Paul but you have become my new favorite channel.😉
Ohh shit I'm telling! Lol when I first watched Merlin I was like yah yah whatever, then the more I watched I was impressed . Then I watched more , now I'm an old scool garage junkie .
Thanks merlin. Thanks for taking the time! Educate are youth. Love the history. Simple times .
Merlin, thank you for all that you do. You truly are an old school gem. You share your knowledge freely, and I'm glad you mentioned getting the younger generation involved in wrenching. Keep up the good work. I enjoy watching how your brain works. 👍🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽🇺🇸
Nothing better than a cup of coffee a new
old school garage video while waiting to get ready and head to church
By far, your best episode yet. I love the conversations with everyone I feel that I know. And the representation of everyones passion and hours of effort is amazing. Thanks for the ride.
Wow Merlin this is absolutely the Koolest looking Rig so glad to see you taking it on its first road trip like the comfy interior sitting nice and close to the wife
You built it for a purpose and damn your using it the Cummins sounds real happy enjoy the Car Show folks and of course your great Friends too!
The second car I ever drove, at 14 years old, was a '26 T Speedster owned by my Dad. He said if I could master driving that thing, I could drive anything. He was right.
My first drive was my grandfathers Chevy 495 speedster 😊 ..
Fun at 35 mph on dirt roads all day 😂
Happy Motoring ✌️🤠
My youngest turns 11 next year, we told her she needs to be able to drive the old crummy soon. Crummy or grandpa is an '86 Ford ranger no power anything. 5 speed, suicide knob on the steering wheel but the brakes feels pretty good! If she can drive that she can drive anything and to her it might as well be an old model T.
Canada calling. Another fine show from the mind of Merlin.
Thanks guys.
The best video I've watched on RUclips. Thanks Merlin
That truck is so bad ass with the black smoke blasting out of those stacks. It's just awesome! I can't wait till you start on the old Diamond T truck.
I greatly appreciate all we are made privy to. Best time ever! Special thanks for sharing the Thunderbird story also.
Great video Merlin! Loved all the stories and tidbits about your stomping grounds. You sure made that guys day getting that car to run. Too cool!
Hello Merlin! I’ve driven the Virgin River Gorge on I-15 when I was stationed at Shivwits Ranger Station which was part of Lake Mead NRA. However, my address was in St. George Utah. Occasionally, I had to drive the NPS fire truck down to Echo Bay Ranger Station. That I-15 drive is a beautiful drive and a beautiful part of Utah! I went through Wildland Firefighting Training School at Panguitch Lake, and have really enjoyed visiting Cedar Breaks National Monument, Zion NP and the North Rim Lodge of Grand Canyon NP, and have driven through Mt. Carmel Junction a few times. Our Jurisdiction at Lake Mead’s Shivwits Ranger Station adjoined the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, and Shivwits Ranger Station is the most remote NPS area in the lower 48 states. After I worked there, they renamed it the Grand Canyon -Parashant National Monument. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting! It brings back many enjoyable memories. 😉
That's a nice truck Merlin, great concept, no doubt you have a lot of blood sweat and tears invested in that.
Thank you thank you thank you from a rain soaked England you made our day much brighter
Great video for Sunday morning, car show in Utah ,lots of fun
The good days when we could ride our pedal bike all day without a fear of being hurt by another

Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
In the first few seconds of this viddie, I was expecting the title to be "Watch How I Break Matt's Wrist in a Public Appearance at the 12th Annual Thunderbird Car Show." 😁
Merlin, man. You do great quality work and make it look so effortless. There's no *_possible_* dang way you can be related to Paul. (Kidding, obviously.) HAHAHA!
What glorious setup you have!!
Amazing episode
Thanks for the beautiful views
you must have drawn some serious attention with the semi and trailer loaded for travel to the show, it looks totally awesome cruising down the 15 !!!
Merlin’s dedication to the automobile and its preservation is second to none. Awesome fella 😀🇺🇸
Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
You are a Super Awesome American Hero Sir. I love the Semi truck and trailer. You are a Super genius for old cars. Always watching keep up the amazing work.😁👍🤘
Interference with the camera could be LED lighting. They look like big florescent lamps but could be LED. They interfere with radio as well. Noisy. Thanks for the video!! 😎👍. The mini 18 wheeler is cool!!!
I remember hearing the dynamite blasts while visiting grandma and grandpa in St. George. We were so excited to drive it, and not taking the old road past the Shivwits res. And passing the turnoff to Gunlock where my dad was born in 1917. I now enjoy that old road drive. Hugs
Merlin you're the man.
Cool looking rig trailer hand cars.
That fruit picking reminds me of my childhood back in the back in 1960 and Northern Cal.
Go along Country Roads first fruit trees growing on the edge of the road. Apples pears plums grapes. You could really fill up an empty out.
Good Times.
Used to be a lot of Hop Olaf Barnes kills. Summer still there mostly grapes a lot of wineries.
Kind of ruined things.
Cuz I ruined the scenery of the side of the hills now you got grapevines.
I lived about a 50 ft from Fred MacMurray property.
The mountain and this Ranch was about a half a mile us.
We had prune Orchard.
Ride along the Russian River.
His Sports sat right at the edge there's a spot fixed up like a little parkour you coming to Summertime and have his big parties. Summertime once in a while you'd see him drive by and his old Jeep one branch to the other.
Thank you Merlin for the adventures. Have a
Safe trip back home.🤙🏾👍🏽✋🏽
🍇🍏🍎🍑🍑🍒🍓🍋🍊🌽.
🤜🏽💥🤛🏽😊😎🙋🏽♂️.
Glad you get out and share these beautiful vehicles would love to daily drive any one of these
That was a wonderful trip and car show! Thank you Merlin! Also great to see everyone!
Merlin is simply an awesome guy! That semi turned out just perfect!! I loved hearing the old stories as well. I’d be interested in hearing the story about the truck up on the post!
Thanks for the childhood nostalgia, Model T instruction, and Mini Semi video. It takes me back to stories my father shared with me and my small town upbringing.
The first road trip with the mini semi was a success. Love your channel
M n D really enjoy the channel
Liked your comment about teaching the kids about old iron and getting them interested in the hobby of restoration and rescue. Subscribed.
Ah...YES...memories... us old people do it a bunch!
Thank you Merlin and family, that was fun to watch.

A little larceny always makes the fruit a lot more sweet.

YUP! Merlin needs acreage! and HUGE BARN!....AWESOME CARS!
Hey I’m 66 and I wish I could have grown up around you so much knowledge you have Thank you for sharing 👍✌️❤️🙏🏻💪🏻
Great video. Once I finish with my 70 Hahn, I am looking for a model A.
Always a treat when these drop.
Love your show and all those cars on your truck.
You've got the best old school rigs. I'm hoping to meet you some day
Love seeing the passion of the builds. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
My hat is off to you for encouraging and helping the next generations of wrenching.
"A golf cart drives way easier than this!"
Like Matt said one has to try for himself how to drive a Model A/T. This makes you appreciate how far car development has come in the last 120 years... 😎🤟
It was cool to meet you there and see your vehicle
OK, Merlin introduces Matt's son who is about to ride with him in the Model T. Is that expression enthusiasm or stark terror??? "Oh boy...?" 😂🤣
Henry Ford would be proud to see these cars still on the road. This looks like LHC.
Thanks so very much for taking us on such an amazing trip, Merlin!! You are the best and the cars are the coolest things especially since you don't tear them up with modifications that take away from their history.
Awesome event 👍 good to see a lot of old cars still running 😎 keep up the great work 😎
I'm honored to be part of one of your videos, Merlin .....thx Tracy Spencer 😊
That’s one slick rig sir. Beautiful job
Super cool Merlin. Thanks so much for sharing your life stories and beautiful vehicles. God bless
You have some of the coolest cars and the know how to keep them in running condition AWESOME Merlin
Once again, Matt has to be on the screen LMMFAO!
Good to See You Merlin, Living the Good Life Brother
My father's first car was an old Model T. He got it when he was 11 years old and drove it around my grandfather's ranch in Montana up until he was a teenager and then he got a 1946 Chevy.
Watching Merlin show Matt how to crank an engine reminds me of when my dad taught me how to crank up our old Allis Chalmers farm tractor.
Thanks for the great memories!
Yall are awesome brother nothing short of amazing adventures as we ride along with yall experiencing history of your childhood !!!! As always brother and sister thoroughly enjoy yall letting us come along with yall !!! Truly awesome brother and sister
So happy for you, old cars & Trucks and family. A very Rich man
My Grandfathers first car was a Model T he paid $35.00 for it. He always explained how to start and operate it. I would like to drive one , one of these days.
You know what I like most about merlin is he makes you feel like you are part of his family and you've known him your whole life I would love to meet you one day
The leather strap on the Model T that holds the Crank Handle is Elegant simplicity.
makin out like gangsters, i love the old cars i used to restore vw's and bmw's 2002 series
The owners of the Thunderbird must have been great stewards of the land to survive and thrive this many years. Great back stories about childhood and family. Thanks
Love my Sunday with MOSG your mini semi with a trailer of history must of been something to see going down the road. Of course Dr Frankenstein brings another one back to life. & the look on that kids face after 60 & you brought it back to life. Funny I remember the old Firebird so knew FABRATS was r
There Rudy's Dodge & OMG Matt had new boots. Best part you let people drive the Model T . That my freind was something those people will never forget. I'm going to watch more times
Thanks for bringing all of your viewers to includ me along with your family, friends and memories.
That was a long trip for a first run. If I'm not mistaken, when the freon pipe is frozen, it's usually a good indication it's low on freon. You're exactly right on keeping the young ones involved. I went to the street rod nationals in okc this past weekend, 13-15 Oct '23, and attendance looked like the same old crowd it seemed. Didn't see really any younger generation teenagers/kids. My teenage son said he felt off being there.
I was like, I know that guy, Matt's Off-road recovery. I don't take the model a to local shows because there's just not any interest for them around here. Good luck to you!
The mini-semi is ABSOLUTLY AWSOME!!! Just seeing the pride, passion, and the craftmanship you put in to your builds is wonderful to see. Love watching and looking forward to your next video!! Love it!!!
28:42 Jeez-o-pete.
Makes me thankful (if memory serves - one of my ultimate dream cars*) for the 1916 Cadillacs.
You were talking about us younger guys digging way old school stuff, @Merlins Old School Garage #MerlinsOldSchoolGarage? 🙃
Your passion, and extensive knowledge, vehemently inspires guys just like me to keep that spirit very much alive, my friend.
* _1916 Type 53 Pick-Up or maybe a 1922 Type 61 Phaeton. Either way, beat up so that I can do some things and just enjoy it._
That truck is my favorite vehicle on RUclips. Absolutely love it. So jealous.

I think that I just seen Matt get interested in something. Great job creating interest Merlin !!
Being 60 myself, it is so refreshing to hear and see others around my age (and slightly older) enjoying life and sharing your younger life and adventures with everyone to see and hear.
And your passion to keep the old stuff running and to share your knowledge with whoever wants to listen is remarkably cool. And your talent is far none some of the best I’ve seen.
And mostly, thank you for taking us along for the ride in all your shenanigans!
