I have a similar truck as that.. 2002 F350 7.3L 6spd manual, manual 4x4, manual hubs. It's an awesome truck, but it's just too dang heavy for off roading.. especially in sand or mud. It's very capable off roading, but I just try to avoid it if I have a choice. My old 95 F150 5spd 4x4.. I took it everywhere and it was a beast in 4Low. It would run circles around the 7.3L in the dessert.. But the 7.3L will blow right by in with a gooseneck on the highway-- so they have their place.
