1.Hailie is Em and Kim's biological daughter.
2.Alaina is Eminem's adopted daughter, the biological daughter of his wife's twin sister (Dawn). As Dawn was struggling with drugs, Eminem took responsibility and adopted her. Eminem has custody of his niece and is raising her as Hailie's sister. She was raised both by Kim and Eminem since they have the shared custody of their children.
She is referenced in the song "Mockingbird" as "Laney".
3.Whitney is the biological daughter of Eminem's ex-wife, Kim, from her relationship with another man. Soon after divorcing Eminem, Kim had a brief relationship with a man named Eric and gave birth to Whitney. Whitney hasn’t yet met her biological father since he's been constantly on the run over drug charges for several years now. Kim became a chronical drug addict and had constant appointments with her doctor. Neither of them was in the condition to raise Whitney. That was the reason why Eminem adopted Whitney.

He is raising or did raise them as his daughters. Em is an amazing human being, because his childhood was so fu@ked up, he wanted these girls to have the best life. Makes me tear up just posting this.❤️

That’s a really great song he wrote when Hailie’s mom was having a lot of legal trouble, and doing rehab, etc...as much as his music says he hates Kim, he deeply loved her and wanted his daughter to know. Alaina (Lainey) is Kim’s twin sisters’ daughter, which he took custody of and raised, as well as Whitney- who is a child Kim had with Eric Hartter (he actually just died last month of an overdose)- which Em also took custody of and raised. He wanted them to all know he loved and cared for Kim. Isn’t it incredible that he literally gave those girls what they never could of had without him? How selfless is it that he took in and raised not only Kim’s niece, but Kim’s child by someone else? THAT’s the Em we know and love so much. It’s nice that you’re very open minded and willing to listen and be objective.

Eminem is a masterful storyteller through his music which is part of the reason he is so loved by so many. We've heard everything from fun and love stories to dark and crazy serial killer stories. He is also very funny. He is very private in the real world but has bared his soul to us in his music. Through 20 years we've heard the good, bad and ugly of his life which has made him very real and relatable to his fans. The absolute #1 thing we all know is just how much he loves his kids and most especially Hailie who is about 22 now. Almost every rapper who's careers have been mostly destroyed by Eminem with his diss tracks was because they mentioned Hailie in a diss track aimed at Em. You can cover his rap beefs at some point. They're always a lot of fun to hear.

I haven't seen my son for his first 2 years due to a lot of issues and covid restrictions and my wife being abroad, loss of business having to start all over and save up starting from 0. I've been saving up for the past 2 years to go them and never leave them again, have our own house etc.. But these 2 years have been killing me it's the hardest thing I ever been through not being with my child in his first 2 years. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when I finally see them later this year. Just thinking about it makes me weep in a second.

Mockingbird is an old lullaby. Same melody as the song but a little slower. The thing is, Eminem dropped out of school after 9th grade, met Kim soon after and had Halie Jade Mathers. He struggled financially and was down to his last dollar when Dr.Dre found him. After that Em took off! Obviously, inn trying to establish himself as an artist, he was away from Halie and Laney from time to time. Meanwhile, around and before the time of this song, Kim had been in and out of rehab and jail. Also away from the kids. That's whatthe songs about. Great reaction...again❤ Some of Ems best songs are to Halie

The song goes through his life with Kim and his daughters. Starting when Eminem not even being signed yet to being gone all the time after being signed by Dre. But his kids emotionally witnessed Em & Kim's constant fighting and separations etc... He had two songs together to explain it to his kids. " Hush little baby don't you cry " and " To kill a mockingbird." Which he states he'd break that Mockingbirds neck if he had to just to make things better for them. It was a very dark moment in their life and Em was explaining that everything will be alright to Hailie and Alaina. Eventually it is. Both girls have a very close relationship with Kim and Em now.
