What a lot of people fail to realize about this song, this album, this period of time in general, is that it was all about looking at the world from a different perspective. Nu Metal was huge in the mainstream, the 90’s made “extreme” the new normal, so the way real artists approached music at this point in time was in a way that would smack you in the face with shock value but follow up on real shit.
Eminem wrote a song from the perspective of a man who doesn’t give a shit about women. The dark side of a truly kind and empathetic man- the thoughts all the “good guys” suppress and what’s behind the patience of “the perfect man.” He told all women to stop trying to set the bar so high for men who already treat you like a queen.
The unfurl was homage to L.L. on his I Need Love song. He's a huge L.L. fan.
Most to the time he raps as slim shady he was HIGH ASF 😂Eminem is mostly written when he was sober that’s y he hasn’t rapped as Shady in a long time cuz he’s been sober for a little over 10 years. Then things changed when he brung Shady back last year but he didn’t relapse or anything he was just pissed off so he started bugging one everyone 😂

A little evidence that supports Em, but doesn't paint him in a positive light is him sharing recordings of Mariah Carey talking to him on voicemail during some of his concerts after she denied they had a relationship.

Best thing about his music is that he has 3 personalities. Eminem, Slim Shady, and Marshall Mathers. All very different, and all tell VERY good stories. It is a journey listening to the entirety of his work.
