The gangster rap era (which Em' came in at the end of) was a totally different thing. It might be "old" now, but I think of "old school" as a genre.

What hurt her the most was when I signed up for the Navy, and didn't tell her. She was badly upset, but it was also a realization that she couldn't control my life anymore.

Bruh, nobody actually digests mumble rap as good music, it’s all hype music and the people know it. Mumble rap also doesn’t exist as much now, that a stopped years back when people were biting southern rappers dialect. But there’s no shame in enjoying ignorant hype music for what it is, hype music, party background music. I would play eminem in a lot of scenarios, I’d rather play drake, future, migos, I play what fits the vibe, the mood, not what I think should be played. I cannot stand people who play some sad shit at a gathering.

I hate this mumble rap gen, although I will admit some of their production and beats are savage, it's just unfortunate that such 4 star music is being paired with fast food lyrics. It's like Ramsay on the beat, and hamburglar on the mic. It sad to see. I hope it phases out soon, and if em is the one to do so, then good on him. This song is one of my very favorites by Eminem because of its raw honesty, and how it basically explains why he's so angry sometimes. "Mockingbird" is another good, emotional one because it's about how being away on tour makes him miss his kids. But my absolute favorite by Em is "Not Afraid", the song he wrote fresh out of rehab for a painkiller addiction that almost killed him. It's an inspirational rallying cry for all those in the same place in their lives.

My wife and I fostered many kids, usually the older kids in their teens. One of my favorite things was to introduce them to all the different kinds of music that was important to me. To see the emotion wash over them when they feel a connection to a song they've never heard before was incredible. Never be ashamed for not knowing a song or artist, we all are learning and finding our way in life.
The magic of finding a new artist that really moves your soul? That is why I try to push kids to search out different kinds of music they don't normally listen to.
