    Powertec lever gym seems to be an all in one resistance gym that takes up less room than anything I've seen.

      Yes, the powertec and even cheaper lever gyms are great for their cost, footprint and overall functionality. Of course if you want the barbell lifts and have the space, a cheap all-in-one + plus lever arms is not a bad deal either with added versatility. Thanks as always Lou!

    At 7 and a half minutes in.. what i like to do is put the bench in place, set the back pad to decline and the seat flat. I can then do a variation of a seated row while using the back feet of the bench (the crossbeam) as a foot rest.
    I actually prefer this angle to the regular seated row and it keeps me off the floor.
    Decent hack is this.

    The leverage gyms are great to go all out on. Less risk of injury I heard so many good things about this gym

      I do love these styles of home gyms, but also like I said in another comment, if people got the coin and space, a cheap half-rack dual plate loaded cable pulley w/ lever arms is another good choice that adds even more versatility.

    My weapon of choice with HIT was the Hammer Strength. This looks in line with those. Great for training to failure and rest pause reps with low risk. Love it!

      Thanks Frank. I know you're looking at that Flexicon, but I also think one of these types of machines you'd be loving as well. Not to mention that you can also add bands on these. Here's an old video with that if ever missed it ruclips.net/video/j7OMBUnwloo/видео.html

    Cool video. It is great sadistic fun to put someone throughout a HIT workout after they say, "how hard could it be" and "I already train to failure".

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  5 месяцев назад

      Great points Brian. Sometimes I think failure can be relative, but more so when you know you're going to do multiple sets of the same exercise. When you know you're only doing one, then I feel people start to take off their interval governors.

    The first time i did 1 set to failure in the Leg Press, i was not conceived if couldn't do more. So i took 90 seconds and attempted another set. I went from 12 reps to 3...

      Just my Total Gym Fit with weight bar and my bicycle. I find that it's perfect for me. But I would love to buy that machine once the kids move out, and i get a little more space!😂

    Good stuff my favorite style of lifting! Powertec or smith machine would be my next large purchase!

      Another thing to consider is a smith machine half rack functional trainer with some jammers. Got pretty much everything right there.

    Powertec Lever equipment is fun to ego-lift with. Yet, you can achieve muscular overload with a lever gym too.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  5 месяцев назад

      I hear you on that. After time, I'm sure people might trade the "ego" lifts of multiple plates in for not having to take the time to load them on!

    Great video thanks for sharing! I bought the gmwd lever gym over a year ago based on your and another RUclipsrs recommendation and it's the single best piece of equipment I own to safely go to failure. The strength curve is great like you mentioned, really feel it in the lengthened position. I'm curious to why you kept the power tech and not the gmwd. I tried the power tech in the store and it felt less stable, can't get the arms up out of the way or do pull ups, and if you add all the extras like the footplate, Olympic sleeves, attachments, etc. it was much more expensive.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  5 месяцев назад +2

      I don't know if you caught it but I did make a comparison video of the powertec and GMWD. Ultimately I kept the powertec because I liked that I could rack/un-rack with the pin being closer to the machine and the other part was really just because I wanted to try out some of their attachments. I also have the Quantum Trainer plus lever arms so it should go without saying I have way more than I need. I just gave my gmwd to my friend. I told him just that in some ways his gmwd is much better than the pTec I was keeping at the time. But your points are very valid. The GMWD feels more solid/stable.

    Hey Mike, for the powertec, if you lift with just the powertec, would it translate to your barbell lifts? Just curious since i never really worked out with actual weights or plates, just bands with the BBB system and the handygym. Also, i genuinely like just watching your videos different from bands.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  5 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks Emily. You can for sure get stronger which will translate to barbells, but stabilizing the bar and the force applied to your muscles will be a different.

    • @emilyng2844
      @emilyng2844 5 месяцев назад

      @@hybridresistance sounds like with the powertec, stability is not an issue so one can pull more weight and with a bar, we have to focus on the downward gravitational pull and ensure our back muscles are working to hold the bar while doing the lift at the same time

  • @mugrad1988

    So, Powertec or a GMWD? You've used both, which one should I buy?

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  4 месяца назад +1

      If you're into the PTec ecosystem, want to attach the bench to the machine, like that you can rack re-rack mid set, then the powertec. If you want a cheaper, I'd also say a more solid machine, then the GMWD
