Yep. There is a song called a different world and it is sung by a guy named Bucky who was on American idol a few years ago and I got to tell you for a young guy he must have questioned every grandparent in the neighborhood of how it used to be because he talked about drinking water from a garden hose and your friends came over to play you played outside families went to church on Sundays stores were closed on sundays. Back in I'd say maybe the mid-70s I was sitting listening to my radio and the DJ said we're going to play Grand funk singing this song 10 times in a row and I sat there the whole time listening to those 10 times and loved every minute of it. Congrats to that DJ
I truely believe, Grand Funk Railroad is vastly underestimated and underappreciated They deserve more credit in every aspect. Still love their music and work after almost 50 years.

Thanks to everyone who posts this great American music. 🎶🎶
Grand Funk!! Man, I haven't thought about these guys for a long time!! I was in the 8th grade, going into the 9th, when this song came out!! They used to play it on like a record player at our school dances. Along with Time in a Bottle, Seasons in the Sun, Sunshine on my Shoulders, Midnight at the Oasis, etc. I would religiously listen to Casey Kason every Sunday afternoon on my little transistor radio, singing right along! That brings back some great memories!! 💕
I liked this the first time I heard it back in'74 and it still rocks me today. Man, I wish they would get back together and tour just one more time for the rest of us.
The enthusiasm of the white chick singing back up is awesome!! She is so into it it gives me goosebumps every time I watch this clip. Great stuff!!!!!!!!!!
I was very young when this song came out. He was strutting around I bet he had alot of groupies after his concerts?!! After his sons death he still has it together. God bless his wife and him! He was hot and still is..
Ya gotta love the 70's ...right?! One of my fave 70's bands and had a big ol poster of Mark Farner in my room! My fave cover of Little Eva's The Locomotion!
I'm just a Japanese 66 years old man. Since the end of the 2nd World war, about 12 years later, the songs of Elvis, Pat, Paul, and Ricky had landed in Japan. After 5 years from Elvis Presley, we Japanese had experienced the coming of Little Eva, J. Tillotson, Cascades, Ronettes and Lesley Gore. By the way,I am understanding the delicate relations of the stories that 「It's my party」 and 「Judy's turn to cry」 which were sung by Gore. Anyway, I've been loving Little Eva's Locomotion which includes lovely dance. But now, I must confess that I was extremely surprised to hear「 Locomotion」 of Grand Funk Railroad. Too marvelous!
Tommy Ireland Thank you for your polite comment. Detroit reminds me of Motown sound. I wasn't interested in it except Supremes before. But several months ago, at youtube, I was suddenly enchanted by a certain song and its slow groovy dance. The title of that song is "My girl" sung by Temptations. I live at Kawagoe city where is 20 miles from Tokyo. And this old city makes feel the atmosphere of "Edo era" in which Samurai ruled. M Takahashi

@@mach5895 this song was done by a cover artist in the 80s she did it to a disco dance type beat.she sang it good but I still like the original version.rock is my favorite to this day.take good care
@Colette Lavoie I believe this is the only song to ever reach #1 by three different artists. This rock n’ roll version by GFR version came out when I was in 8th grade. The radio stations played it seemingly every hour and I couldn’t get enough of it. Still one of my all-time favorites to this day.
Never realised that Grand Funk Railroad cashed in on the "Glam Rock" look when this song was on the charts. Loved it back then. Fucking love still now. Best version of the song IMO.
1974, I was a senior in high school. Saw them on this tour. Was my first concert to see. I do remember them opening this song with the locomotive on the big screen. Live at LSU in Baton Rouge. That was a show...and I'm still listening in 2019 and will continue to listen.
From Little Eva to Kylie Minogue to Grand Funk Railroad to Atomic Kitten, this song, no matter who does and interprets it their way, it's almost impossible to mess up. And GFR does it up right!
