    Cool! I was not aware of Nomad. New cabin sounds great. Larger? Same style? I'm excited!! Have a great Thanksgiving!

    Love to see side by side comparison of Tesla starlink roam and Nomad on the property. With both starlink and nomad at $150 / month or $100 / month for 100 mbps (nomad only), not sure how practical with home and phone internet too. Curious your thoughts?

      We had Nomad for seven months and it wasn’t good. We finally got our Starlink equipment after about a sixteen month wait. Starlink is much better for us in rural East Texas.

    As a network engineer of over 20 years I can tell you that most of the latency you are seeing in these tests is due to the limitation of your wireless connection from the modem/router and your device. Swap that out for something connected with minimum of 5g wireless or better 1000 base t and you will see huge changes in the throughput.

    • @bigd50
      @bigd50 9 месяцев назад

      The nomad device has built in modern wi-fi…it’s receiving the mobile cell broadband and then also creating a local wireless network. That’s not the problem. He’s not getting faster speeds b/c he is out in the sticks.

    Very useful information. I was excited that you will build another cabin next year. I have greatly enjoyed your videos from the beginning. They have always ticked all the boxes of my expectations each time. Informative, very creative and unique with beautiful videography and enjoyable music. They flow with an expectation of "what's next". They aren't pretentious but give, I feel, an accuracy lacking in many channels. Truthful. Thanks for great and enjoyable content. Did I say also inspiring? Happy Thanksgiving. Cheers!!!

    I never knew where you were located and I still don't but according to your internet screen somewhere near Jackson TN. Nice country around there, I've worked in Jackson several times. We are going to try and move back home to Ky from Indiana as we are retired now. We won't be too far from your region as we'll be near Ky Lake. What are your plans for the multiple cabins ABNB ??

    Love your videos. I'd like to build a cabin on my property in TN but like yours I'm in a hollow and get little to no cell signal. I'm wondering how the internet test would differ with leaves on the trees.
