  • Assessment: If there is a contracture or similar condition in this muscle, the affected arm will remain in ROT ext. and the palm of that hand will look forward, so we can say that if this happens there may be a contracture in the minor round. A lesion of the brachial plexus in the rotator cuff can cause an asymmetrical position of the hand on the affected side. Using the forearm as a lever, we can apply a resistance to the ROT int and ask the patient to perform an ROT ext. to actively assess this muscle.
