Sitting in my college dorm all alone, listening to this aloud. Just got here from my home downstate and finished a 5-hour drive all by myself. I’m 20, almost 21.. it’s my 2nd year up here.. and I’m still homesick. I already miss my parents, my little brother, and my grandpa. March isn’t so far off.. but man do I realize how much I miss home when hearing this song. Tears. I hope everyone in this wonderful channel’s family remembers that somewhere in the world there is someone that will care for them and offer a helping hand. Don’t let this world change you too much, and try to smile whenever you can. Things can always get better.
Senior here, graduating college in a few months. I’ve learned to look at it as a wonderful reflection of how much I love my family when I get homesick. I have a beautiful family with my parents and 6 siblings and I miss each and every one of them every day. The homesick doesn’t go away, but you do feel less sick about it. Reach out, video call, visit, and each time you go back it’s better than the last. So happy you are only 5 hours away! I am 16 hours right now and I was also in a different country last semester. It’s good to be home.
God, I remember my time away from home. I remember wanting to leave all of it behind only to find that I missed it so much. Grass being always greener and all that. As a young person, listen to the words of an old southern man. Change is inevitable and it can be very good. The key is the pathway to change and why it was made. The change for change's sake that I was seeking was a fool's errand. The changes I've made as I've learned and grown and experienced more of the world are the changes that matter, and it doesn't take away from who you are, but instead builds upon it. The TL;DR is strive to be better than who you are now, not just different cause different doesn't mean better.
Man, this one's amazing, isn't it? I just listen to it again and again. The harmonies are tight and accurate, as per the norm. I believe it's a miracle that these men found each other and sing so beautifully together. I've seen them in concert three times, and they just keep getting better. May they continue on this path for another three or four decades. Minimum. P.S. Chris Chatham is a joy to see and hear. Can't wait to see 'em live again.
I love Home Free and their his is along with their vision and passion, however, DIXIE ain't a going away. Neither are the South's values. The South's will RISE again 🤠
Another masterpiece. Really so beautiful. Great lead from Tim and Chance. The amazing guitar playing of Chris Chatham that just belongs to this song. Then Adam's modest but great no-monica and the background vocals round it off completely. All this in a wonderful environment. Top!

This song hits me hard. I'm in the middle of NM with my 3 dogs. Got nobody, nothing. Just my babies and myself. I feel so unattached to this world. In a couple months, we'll be walking out of here. Walking with no destination. It's painful to strive for happiness and community, but to never be wanted. I don't drink, don't do drugs, just work hard for my own. But it's always taken away from me, for show. For hate is winning against love in this world. I forgot to mention that I have epilepsy, In a world full of bullies against an invisible disease, I walk alone, carrying my 3 babies.
If you're a Home Fry, you're never alone. We are together in the love and magic this music brings to the world. Hang in there; you never know what good things may be waiting for you. Hug your 3 babies, and appreciate the love and joy they bring to you.
OH! This song really hits home with me. I'm in tears, listening for the second time to recover enough to comment. I was raised in a military family that moved every 18 months until I was 12 years old. The strange thing was we kept returning to Harker Heights Texas, the place I remember as my first childhood memory. This made me believe we were from Texas. How my heart yearns for that place. Been gone so long, 51 years to be exact and I still call it home. ❤️😥
Beautiful song as usual and I love that Chris is playing guitar in it for something different. Please keep these beautiful and meaningful songs coming. We fans need them so very much. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I do listen to Home Free every single day of my life. They are just a part of me now . They are so addictive, but in a good way. I am a dedicated Home Fry!!!
Wow... This has got to be one of your best. I'm neither from Dixie, nor the South, nor the US, but man, that message hits home. Thinking about all the things from my own culture and my own upbringing I'm not proud of, but which are still a part of me and undoubtedly made me who I am. But there are those things that I can and need to leave in the rear view mirror as I move on towards a better and brighter tomorrow. This may be what growing up is really about. Knowing your roots, where you came from - but eventually, we need to leave the nest and learn to fly.
I'm so glad I taught you so much. Remember the good times, forgive me my faults, and remember that the best way to honor me is to build a bright future.
What about this: Born Here Live Here Die Here by luke bryan, collaborate with JourneyDay to take full lead, will used his rustic with playing with his vocal folds with his vocal passages, high harmony by: Adam Chance, Rob Lundquit, Austin Brown, Tim Foust will used mixed of chest and growl for the bassline.
I am from Kentucky since before the nation was founded. Those Dixie roots run deep and true holding fast. I live in Indiana but my mountains call for me. Leaving for good is unimaginable. Thank you guys for putting those feelings into such beautiful song. Chris guitar adds the perfect touch.
I love the music and the message hit home with me. I left A la at 18. Only a week in Chicago I signed myself up for college and rode the el train by myself. The South gave me love , it challenged me and gave me room to grow. Be proud of those hometown roots. Thanks for the song sharing it with all of us.

Dang it y'all made me cry. I feel this so much? Born and raised in the south but moved up north about 7 years ago. While I do love my new home I am still proud of where I'm from. Never thought I would leave the south and if I'm being honest I think one day I will probably return, but for now I will enjoy the experience of living in Delaware.
What about this: Someone To Share It With by rodney atkins, we want Adam Chance to take full lead, will used his fuller sounding with edge of balance of rustic and his vocal folds and playing with vocal passages, high harmony by: Austin Brown, Rob Lundquit, Tim Foust will used mixed of chest and growl for the bassline.
This is such a beautiful mature reflective song. I loved it when I first heard it in concert footage, have played it regularly from the album, and I love that you went with a simple performance video. It makes me sad to see some of the negative comments. We all have to reach the point in life where we look back and realise the place where we come from has faults as well as virtues. If you can't do that, you can't move forward. This song makes me proud to be a Home Fry.
Every place has faults but only Southerners allow themselves to be be embarrassed by Northerners into making a song that basically tells their home to shove off.
What about this: make it a good one by brothers osborne, collaborate with Geoff from Voiceplay to take full lead, will used his faint echoes of darker tone but with his vocal folds blend with his vocal passages with balance of rustic ( just right) for his tone high harmony by: Adam Chance, Austin Brown, Rob Lundquit, Tim Foust will used his mixed of chest and growl for the bassline.
You guys are my favorite , and in my book you are the greatest of all time, BUT, this hurt. I can’t let my whole history and my families and friends history of Dixie,(southern Utah’s Dixie) go. There was NEVER EVER any put down of any humans of any ethnicity involved in the Dixie name. I have relatives named Dixie, and now I live in Washington state and we have a former governor named Dixie. Your singing of this song is great as always, but I will always be a girl from Dixie and proud of it.
What about this: Look At Us by Vince Gill, we want Adam Chance to take full lead, will used his clearest and strongest but smooth for his little bit of rustic for his vocal and mixed of half and half of lower and higher register, high harmony by: Austin Brown, Rob Lundquit, Tim Foust will used mixed of chest and growl for the bassline.
What about this: all the pretty girls by kenny chesney, collaborate with Lyane Stein from Voiceplay to take full lead, will used his mixed of glottis and pulmonic phonation to blend different pitches with different frequencies, high harmony by: Adam Chance, Rob Lundquit, Austin Brown, Tim Foust will used his low of the lowest undertone of growl with mixed of chest and chest fry blend with growl for the bassline.
Another absolutely beautiful song sung by these Beautiful Amazing Gentleman. Thank you Home Free for bringing us Home Fries more of your beautiful beautiful Music 🎼🎼🎶
Chris Chatham's guitar on this video is simple but brilliant, and the vocals are, as always, so beautiful they can bring you to tears. And the backdrop. . . Stunning!
( MUST DO, I got perfect setting for this song: at Tim Foust’s house with a lot of girls partying) what about this: Too Many Woman by Bernhard Allison, we want Adam Chance to take full lead, high harmony by: Austin Brown, Rob Lundquit, Tim Foust will used mixed of chest, chest fry, growl for the bassline.
Another beauty. Having Chris and his beautiful guitar playing is an added bonus. Too bad that some of your fans are taking this as dumping on the south. I just hear somebody moving along the path of life and realizing that things in the past can't be recovered - nor should they be. A hard realization no matter where you were raised. Later: Another thought. If you replace "Dixie" with "Fargo" or "Oregon" or "Peru", does the song still make sense? Sure. But since Tim is from the south it wouldn't make sense for him to use any of those other places. Just a song about moving along life's path further and further from your roots - wherever they are.
I like the way this song sounds, and y'all do such an awesome job I love the way y'all's voices work so well together, however I will NEVER EVER say goodbye to DIXIE. If that bothers anyone GET OVER YOURSELF. GOD bless y'all and keep up the great work
Love this song. I heard it in their concert in October 2022. I never get tired of listening to Home Free and I hope I get another chance to see them live.

Having been born and raised in the South, then uprooting our family and moving out west almost five years ago, this one hits very close to home. Love it!
Beautifully written, wonderfully performed, and courageously delivered. Great respect for traveling the high road, even when it is not always the welcoming and easy path! As someone who proudly served our land, I find this call for healing timely and admirable. May the wind always be at your backs.
Yes. The one true deity, the Flying Spaghetti Monster has blessed them arbitrarily with talent. Certainly has nothing to do with hard work and experience...
Beautiful song, as usual the harmonies were on point! The area you filmed in is absolutely stunning! Keep doing what you do, and Thank you for all of the wonderful music that you put out!

Have a great time and a Happy early Birthday to your daughter.
Love this. Chris is a great guitarist and a such a beautiful addition to this song. Love every video you guys make. You know how to touch the soul. Have a great New Year guys.❤️❤️

Another great song. I've had to leave a place I loved. To start a new life. It was sad, but it was what I needed. Life gives us choices, sometimes they are hard, at first. But making those hard choices, brings you greater happiness.
What about this: Dream You Never Had by Thomas Rhett, collaborate with Lyane Stein from Voiceplay to take full lead, will used his glottis phonation mixed of thin and thick based on his raspy with his little rustic undertone, high harmony by: Adam Chance, Rob Lundquit, Austin Brown, Tim Foust will used his mixed of chest and growl for the bassline.
Just saw them last night in Hurricane. AMAZING, vocals, beatbox solo, total show!!!!!!!. All vocal, using only a loop machine. Bought their newest album. Would see them again.

Don't Laugh At Me with Mark Wills and now Chris on the acoustic guitar..perfect... Your Fries can never thank you enough... Good Health and Love..🙏...🌿🌿🌿
That's not what they're saying. They're crapping on their heritage. Well, not their heritage, most of them are from Minnesota, so they're crapping on other people's heritage. I loved Home Free, but looks like they've gone full Tyler Childers. Look for their next spoken word album, Hone Free lectures you on Critical Race Theory.
@@christopherdobney2927 three out of five of them are from the deep south. two out of those three are the ones with writing credits here. and frankly, being compared to Tyler Childers is a massive compliment
I think you misunderstand this song. The bigotry, hatred and discrimination that was practiced here needs to go! It is the "wrong end of the one way road" (genius lyrics guys!) Yes, I'm from the Deep South too and do not feel insulted because it will always be a part of me too.
@@christopherdobney2927 Wow, I think you are the one missing the point of the song. It's about having to leave it. Look at all the displaced Southerners who end up elsewhere for jobs. The South is always a part of you, but sometimes, life requires that you leave it behind -- it is on the wrong end of a one-way street. They are not crapping on their heritage. They are saying how much they will miss the South! I see the crazy comments here trying to make it about political shit. Y'all are just looking to complain about something. But of course, art is always subjective, so if you want to interpret it that way, that is on you.
How in love have I fallen with you guys ❣️ 😁? There's a thin line between my favorite genre, and 'Country'. Love blues, love folk, love just under this side of the line country. My mother was the biggest lover of music, (especially Country!,) of anyone I ever knew besides me and my kids. I'm in my sixties now and my mama is gone but she used to blast me out of bed every morning of my life with oooold school country in a little box radio alarm clock.
What about this: Boys round Here by Blake Shelton
I love Home Free and their his is along with their vision and passion, however, DIXIE ain't a going away. Neither are the South's values.
The South's will RISE again 🤠
Another masterpiece. Really so beautiful. Great lead from Tim and Chance. The amazing guitar playing of Chris Chatham that just belongs to this song. Then Adam's modest but great no-monica and the background vocals round it off completely. All this in a wonderful environment. Top!
What about this: Things You Can't Live Without by Chris Janson (with Travis Tritt), as Chris Janson by Adam Chance to take main lead with collaborate with Scott Hoying from Penatatonix as Travis Tritt, Adam Chance will used fuller sounding with bunch of rustic with control of ( just right) for his gritt and Scott Hoying will used his chesty and blend with the lead and with mini solo ( on/ off) collaborate with Lyane Stein from Voiceplay will used ingressive phonation for the trap beats with main beatboxer by Adam Rupp high harmony by: Austin Brown, Rob Lundquit, Tim Foust will used mixed of chest and chest fry for the bassline
Are we sure Adam didn't sneak a harmonica in? :D He is so talented. You literally can't tell the difference in sound.
What about this: forever after all by luke combs, collaborate with Scott Hoying from Penatatonix to take full lead, will used his both of his register of mixed and chest with mixed of half and half of lower and higher register with much gritt and kickback of rustic for his tone, high harmony by: Adam Chance, Rob Lundquit, Austin Brown, Tim Foust will used his mixed of growl and chest fry for the bassline
Everything you guys produce is just a pleasure to listen to. It's an honour to hear you sing.Thank you so much!
I forgot to mention that I have epilepsy,
In a world full of bullies against an invisible disease, I walk alone, carrying my 3 babies.
You're not alone, friend.
You are loved more than you know and your best days are just ahead!
If you're a Home Fry, you're never alone. We are together in the love and magic this music brings to the world. Hang in there; you never know what good things may be waiting for you. Hug your 3 babies, and appreciate the love and joy they bring to you.
I have epilepsy... thinking of you tonight. 🟪
I wish all of you the best of luck. Keep your hopes close and look toward the future, and don’t give up.
So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. Hello

I will forever live in Dixie land
So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song. Hello
Now is the time to say that. Bravo Home free.
The Rupp no-monica is so subtle and pretty in this one.
I'm so glad I taught you so much. Remember the good times, forgive me my faults, and remember that the best way to honor me is to build a bright future.
This needs to be on the radio NOW. I absolutely love this.
Been a lot of places; lived in a lot of places. I always come back home to Alabama, though.
Home Free, in what seems to be dark days anymore, you fill my soul with joy. Beautiful.
Hello Suzanne. How are you doing?
I am from Kentucky since before the nation was founded. Those Dixie roots run deep and true holding fast. I live in Indiana but my mountains call for me. Leaving for good is unimaginable. Thank you guys for putting those feelings into such beautiful song. Chris guitar adds the perfect touch.
Hello Diana how are you doing today ?
I wish each& every one of You,the best of everything
to come starting w 2023
🎉❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎉
I love the music and the message hit home with me. I left A la at 18. Only a week in Chicago I signed myself up for college and rode the el train by myself. The South gave me love , it challenged me and gave me room to grow. Be proud of those hometown roots. Thanks for the song sharing it with all of us.
Oh my Lord we need a song like this.. Thank you Guys for once again telling it plain and simple. Love you guys never change boys😀
( MUST DO, Home Free) what about this: Goodbye Says It All by Blackhawk, we want Adam Chance to take full lead, complex harmony: collaborate with Cesar de la Rosa from Voiceplay and Scott Hyoing from Penatatonix blend with the lead, main high harmony by: Austin Brown, Rob Lundquit, Tim Foust will used mixed of chest and chest fry for the bassline.
Absolutely beautiful and heartfelt
Dang it y'all made me cry. I feel this so much? Born and raised in the south but moved up north about 7 years ago. While I do love my new home I am still proud of where I'm from. Never thought I would leave the south and if I'm being honest I think one day I will probably return, but for now I will enjoy the experience of living in Delaware.
I love this song! Can't help but give Chris props. Dude can tear up a guitar. The boys are Ad always AWESOME!
There aren't enough words to cover this beautiful song. Took my breath away. Thank you, gentlemen for such a masterful performance.
Love this song so much, it's one of those that I just randomly start singing no matter where I am. 🥰🍟
That's me too. I think this is my favorite of their originals. I sing and play it all the time. I'm sure my family is gonna know the song soon. Lol
@@sallytilley571 how are you doing today?
This is such a beautiful mature reflective song. I loved it when I first heard it in concert footage, have played it regularly from the album, and I love that you went with a simple performance video. It makes me sad to see some of the negative comments. We all have to reach the point in life where we look back and realise the place where we come from has faults as well as virtues. If you can't do that, you can't move forward. This song makes me proud to be a Home Fry.
well said
Very well said, Mandy!
Amen...❤️
Every place has faults but only Southerners allow themselves to be be embarrassed by Northerners into making a song that basically tells their home to shove off.
What are Dixie's faults and why are Home Free leaving it? And what does that mean exactly?
Yes they need to play this on the radio..love ya all your the best.... bless you're hearts 💕
I can't get over how well this was arranged and sung. There's something amazing about this that is somehow magical.
This is a beautiful warm touching song about Minnesotans leaving their southern roots.
Three of the five are from the south.
OMG..i belly laughed at the irony in ur comment...well played
Tim and Chance are Kindred spirits..... They both sounded soooooo good in this one!! Well done boys, well done!
I’m proud to live in Dixie. Alabama girl through and through. I stand for right and fight against what’s wrong.
They’re from Minnesota. Enough said.
PLEASE come back to Cincinnati!
I love this song very well written Chance bass in this song is pure perfection and Chris guitar playing is the cherry on the top🥰
Thank you all , sooo beautiful ❤
Beautiful harmony, great song. Guy's you never disappoint. Love it
Rupp. Always on top and tearing it up. Rappers hate you. We love you!
Thanks Homefree for another beautiful song you guys are all amazing
Hello Jeanette how are you doing today?

Another absolutely beautiful song sung by these Beautiful Amazing Gentleman. Thank you Home Free for bringing us Home Fries more of your beautiful beautiful Music 🎼🎼🎶

Chris Chatham's guitar on this video is simple but brilliant, and the vocals are, as always, so beautiful they can bring you to tears. And the backdrop. . . Stunning!
@Rob Lundquist is that you Rob? No blue checkmark. I'm confused.
Oh .... these smooth guitar sounds .... Beautiful background and beautiful song ....
I love this song, it's in my top 3 on the album ✌️❤️
Love the song. For the love of God it’s a song. Just enjoy it.
Love your group since forever ❤ You give out the best vibes, even if it’s a sad worded song
This is such a beautiful and heart felt song and Chris Chatham plays a beautiful guitar. Another killer video.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just Beautiful... As always... Love your covers but love your originals even more... Thanks guy's..
What about this: Don't Leave, I Think I Love You by toby keith, we want Tim Foust to take full lead, high harmony by: Austin Brown, Rob Lundquit, Adam Chance will used his low baritone low notes for the bassline.
Congratulations you're the lucky winner of the ongoing giveaway text me on telegram to claim your package.
Absolutely Beautiful! God has blessed all of you with those amazing voices.1st song I ever heard you sing and looking forward to so many more!!
Yes. The one true deity, the Flying Spaghetti Monster has blessed them arbitrarily with talent.
Certainly has nothing to do with hard work and experience...
Beautiful song…peaceful guitar….and soothing human harmonica….life would be “unfinished” without music!
I love home free they are awesome singers i am your big fan!!!!!!
Beautiful song, as usual the harmonies were on point! The area you filmed in is absolutely stunning!
Keep doing what you do, and Thank you for all of the wonderful music that you put out!
What about this: Dance All Night by hunter hutchinson, collaborate with Mitch Grassi from Penatatonix to take full lead, will used his clear and chest dominant with undertone of rustic and some lower and mostly higher register (will used his 4th octave) high harmony by: Adam Chance, Rob Lundquit, Austin Brown, Tim Foust will used mixed of chest and chest fry for the bassline.
Long live Dixie!
Totally agree!!
This entire album is so good I don't have words to express my feelings. I have tickets to your Little Rock concert -- I am taking my daughter; it is her birthday. Can hardly wait to see you guys in person for the first time!
They’re absolutely amazing live! Enjoy it!! 💜
You are going to LOVE them Marion. I took my son with me to see them for the first time in October 2022. Sooooooooooo happy that we got to experience them live and are looking forward to the next opportunity. You are right about the album. By far, it is my most favorite because it is majority all them. Have a great time and a Happy early Birthday to your daughter.
Love this. Chris is a great guitarist and a such a beautiful addition to this song. Love every video you guys make. You know how to touch the soul. Have a great New Year guys.❤️❤️
What about this: every scar has a story by cody johnson, we want Adam Rupp to take full lead, will used his clearest and strongest engage core but with edge of rustic ( not much) in unison with the lead by: collaborate with Lyane Stein from Voiceplay will used his timing and with faint glottis phonation mixed of thin and tick ( not much) high harmony by: Adam Chance, Rob Lundquit, Austin Brown, Tim Foust will used mixed of chest and growl for the bassline.
Another great song.
I've had to leave a place I loved.
To start a new life.
It was sad, but it was what I needed.
Life gives us choices, sometimes they are hard, at first. But making those hard choices, brings you greater happiness.

So Long Dixie..as usual talent and taste...I listen to your music daily..and you bring joy and laughter to this 70 year old...keep doing what you do..wherever you do it from...
Don't Laugh At Me with Mark Wills and now Chris on the acoustic guitar..perfect...
Your Fries can never thank you enough...
Good Health and Love..🙏...🌿🌿🌿
Gorgeous song. No matter where you end up, the South is always a part of you.
@@beadwright You don't think there is any bigotry, hatred and discrimination in other parts of the country? You think slavery is still a thing?
She raised 6 music lovers all on her own in the sixties. We were poor but we had music. I REALLY LOVE YOUR WORK 🎶 My grandson and I listen to you every day. THANKS FOR LETTING US BE HOME FRIES. All our love🏡
This song is on repeat in my brain and on my actual playlist. Thanks for providing good feelings.
Love this song and video.beautiful song
Adam Rupp just KILLIN it on harmonica lately!!!!!! How in the world do they get better and better??????????❤❤❤

Oh Adam...harmonica heaven back there..so pretty! Nice job Tim, Austin and Chatham. It's a beautiful song. You guys just keep proving how talented you are. Just amazing stuff all the time. Simplesmente fantástico! Linda música. E na interpretaçao do HOME FREE, fica ainda melhor!!!
Good one,, AGAIN!! Would like to see HF do a tribute cover to one of Charley Prides songs. RIP Mr. Pride. Thanks
So, so touchingly, perfectly beautiful. I LOVE the addition of Chris' artful guitar.
