Home Free is not recognized nearly enough. They are not just incredible musicians but also incredible human beings. They never shy away from issues, they keep the focus on people and how we should help one another. Love them.
@@mikeparker7631 Please remember, that Home Free Home Fries exist all over the World! We're not all American, so not all of us are into the very nationalistic (for lack of a better word) songs on their repertoire. We can still appreciate the skill and talent behind the performances, even if the songs themselves aren't our favourites. This song was written by Mark Knopfler in 1982, about the Falklands War and it's casualties.
71 years ago my uncle Marvin died at the battle of Chosin Reservoir in what is now North Korea. The US and UN troops were so out numbered and under such continuous fire that they were not able to take the fallen with them when they withdrew. My uncle was one of those left behind. But now, thanks to decades of diplomacy and the science of DNA, his remains have been repatriated and positively identified. He's finally coming home. His ashes will be interred in his mother's grave next month. It took a lifetime of continuing effort, but they finally brought him home. Like the lyrics in this song say, "You did not desert me, my brothers in arms."
WOW 🥺! Your ability to tell a relatively short story with such depth and detail, in so few words - is amazing, yet I feel compelled to not only thank you - for sharing this slice of your own family history - while offering apologies for EVERY soldier, EVERYWHERE for being forced to be pawns in our leaders battles. Maybe we (EVERY COUNTRY) should bring our soldiers home - and send the LEADERS to the battlefield to fight out their agendas - until the last one standing. Seems more fair, right? 👍
I read Hampton Sides’ book about that battle. It was very moving; I have the highest admiration for those soldiers who fought against all odds. My father was in n Korea, but not at Chosin. I’m happy to hear that you have your uncle’s remains at home where they belong.
Thanks for sharing that. It’s easy to forget when we aren’t directly involved. Thank you for reminding me of these “brothers in arms”. I’m happy to find out too these efforts are working.
I'm sure there must be tremendous pressure to release new, original material on any band, but these guys have such incredible talent I want them to cover every song I ever loved to listen to. They improve everything they sing.
That's right, Mike! I read a nice comment that aptly said, "They don't do covers. They upgrade." Truth. I like to daydream about them upgrading Cecilia from Simon & Garfunkel to add to their arsenal of upbeat productions. And if they ever put their hands in The Beatles' catalogue, I'll be ready to die. ;)
As an old warrior, (now disabled, and retired) that has been one of my all time favorite songs for many years. So glad you guys did it... and did it well. Thank you. Thank you so much. Memories are leaking out of my eyes, and running down my cheeks... I'm home, and I'm 'home free". Only hope to God we can stay that way...
Thank you sir! May our God see your heart and your hurts. May he Bless you with continued perseverance of getting through the day and being with family. Thank you with much respect for your service!
Oh man. As a veteran, this struck a cord in my heart and memories for my fellow brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and succumbed to the mental wounds of duty. I was crying. Thanks for the tears. For the reminders of their memories.
My son flew with the Corps in Iraq. This touched me, and I had to send it to him. Absolutely beautiful! There is no song they have ever covered than has not improved on the original imo. Such extraordinary talent.
To make this more special, I did Honor Guard a couple times for my base and was given the opportunity to present the folded flag to the retiree and veterans families. It’s one of those details you have to be for lack of better terms, “emotionally constipated” and maintain military bearing at all costs. But if I were to hear this at a ceremony, I’d be done.
Sick… just sick! Tim is otherworldly! Great to hear him back down in the “depths” again….rattling our souls and drowning our senses with “bass-ly” perfection!
The song has lost nothing of its topicality, on the contrary, the message is more current than ever. It is very emotional. You guys did a fantastic job. Tim's and Chance's voices are so phenomenal! Wow 💥
I lost 38 brothers and sisters in combat. My father, a Nam veteran, died in 2012. One day, my older brother and I will be buried under Old Glory and laid to rest with our blood...our brothers, sisters, father, veteran grandfather and uncles who heard the TAPS play before us. Thank you for singing such a beautiful tribute to our fallen heros. 🇺🇸 Lest we forget...
Someone make sure Mark Knopfler sees this especially with Tim and Chance taking the lead vocals. Great arrangement of one of my very favorite songs and so appropriate now.

I have always felt that Helplessly Hoping by Home Free has been the Gold Standard of A Capella perfection performances. But after listening to your audio version of Brothers in Arms from your Land of the Free album, to me it is the Platinum Standard of A Capella perfection. I cannot wait to see the video for the incredible and unbelievably intricate harmonies I am about to witness. Imho, you guys are the most talented, and have the richest harmonies of any band that has ever graced our beautiful planet. It is not flattery, but earned respect for you are the best at your profession. I hope someday the ACM will recognize Home Free as a rare gem of a country band, as Chris Stapleton is as a country soloist.
Pentatonix realeased a version of "The Prayer" today (30/10) for their Holiday album. It was beautiful and with flawless singing. But there is a reason I more seldom listen to them and listen almost every day to Home Free. Home Free's arangements and harmonies outshines Pentatonix by far and has done so for quite a while. Home Free is on another level. They are the gold standard of a cappella singing and in my opinion the best music group in the world.
TOTALLY agree with you.......HF are every man and womans' entertainers. Pentatonix is just show business to me and not relatable. I dont like the girl's voice in the group also. HOME FREE is so much more better in every way, and tho I wish so much more for them, I love how they have stayed so relatable to us, their audiences.
What I genuinely love about Home Free is their relatability and the fact that they have such a close bond that they can do solo work and the group is still strong.
In 1982 when this was written my husband spent 3 weeks on the QE2 on his way to the Falklands. He was injured at 2:30am on the day of the ceasefire and has suffered for 41 years. He returned to the islands 20 years later with lots of vets and they were blown away by the feeling of gratitude and love from the islanders. Thank you to all who served for our freedom 👏🏻🙏🏻
I am Danish, but was living in Putney (Southwest London) from 1981-84, going to school at a local school. Part of the catchment area was a local army barracks, and I had classmates who lost family members. It was a horrible time, as I remember it.
@ it was and still is so hard to live with what happened to the troops. Thankfully we are surrounded with our 3 kids and 11 grandkids to keep us busy and distracted.
@annmariemitchell2532 I thought about it a couple of years ago, when I watched a rather amazing play by Sandi Toksvig called "Bully Boys". It's about a young British soldier accused of a war crime in Afghanistan, and his interaction with his lawyer (appointed by the army), a wheelchair user with his own ghosts from the Falklands. It is amazing (but I would wager triggering for someone dealing with PTSD).
Long time ago in 1986 I served in the regular "socialist-communist" army, this song was a hit song, was playing on the radio. As a soldier at that time from another part of the world, not knowing a lot of English language, I was singing the tune, and that chorus brothers in arms make me smile like I was knowing what it means really. Decades later my English is getting better and I heard a song again, now, I know what it means, it means a lot for the army personal no matter where they served, in what army, we are all the same, sometime just fresh meat for the cannons, sometimes just lost in the desert, but always remember that when no one else is left to ask for help and support, that person next to you, that cold blooded soldier is your brother in arms and he and you will do anything to protect each other, to help each other to ease the pain, because those are The Brothers in Arms! God save all soldiers!
Very well said sir. In the end we are all just people. We're born we live, we die. What we do in between makes us brothers. I just wish that we didn't have to band together to kill others to experience this bond. God Bless ya Brother.
This is possibly one of the most beautiful a capella pieces I've heard! The whole group nailed every part. One thing I really love about this cover is the fact that they chose a bass singer as the lead, but just left him as the lead. They didn't try and show off with subharmonics, growls or any of the other super showy techniques (they have a place but are sometimes overused); instead they just let the natural warmth and beauty of a lower voice shine as the focal point for all the stunning harmonies. Fantastic job, Home Free.
He seemed kind of heavy on the vocal fry. Tim can get down to those registers without it so I'm thinking it's a style choice. Sing about soldiers, use a gruff voice.
@@johnbrock8105 well vocal fry isnt necessarily to hit subterranian notes it is just used to slightly distort the voice kind of like distortion on an electric guitar. But Tim uses it here I believe ike you said to really drive the soldiers eyes kind of vibe and he nailed it. Not arguing with you by any means
While serving in the German Armed Forces since almost 35 years I sorrily had to let go too many of my comrades. We will be BIA forever. Thank you so much for this outsanding piece of art and music.
This song is rich is a sentiment that is international in its application. Brothers in arms have been killing each other for too many generations. Pray that this comes to an end, and as soon as possible!
I've got several friends serving in the military, though not in the field. Yet it's so sad to see, how bad the Gernan citizens think of our military, having heard stories of soldiers being spat on in the train etc. I cannot respect and thank you guys enough for your service.
Tim's vocals bring me back 35 years to the piercing, tectonic balm of this song's namesake album. I was barely in my twenties, but grew up with Vietnam as a backdrop. The insanity of it, the nearly insurmountable damage At Every Turn, the Vets...some disfigured, some walking-wounded, most bewildered, all betrayed. That bass rumbles in the bone the way grief and disillusionment did. As a kid it was terrifying to see that all the adults had lost their collective shit. Words alone can't describe or heal it. Only music can touch it. I'm truly grateful.
I went from Brazil to Amsterdam listenning to Homefree at spotfy. When I arrived at Amsterdam Airport, I was suprised to met them in front of me. Imagine the chances of something like this happen. I was with my mom, and she said "go on, ask them for a picture", unfortunatelly I was embarrassed enough about my english, and did not tried talking with them. I think I'll regret this for my entire life, these guys made my life better and I wasn't able to tell them how thankfull I am
As a battle seasoned Veteran, this pulled at my heart. As I listened to this song, I was reminded of the many team mates I lost over the years. Well done remembrance for all those fallen and thank you for sharing!
Now that the war is over, deployed or not we still havr one last battle. To cover each other until we stop loaing brothers and sisters to their own hands. Until then our mission isnt over. Always with my battle brothers and sisters.
@@MortAllachie ? Tim contacted me (I’m Tuukka, the bass from Club For Five) and asked permission to use our arrangement. I sent it to them and they altered some chords in the ”There’s so many different worlds” -section of the song. Otherwise is 100% same as ours. Great job the guys and Tim did covering this or should I say tributing Club For Five’s original version.
@@subbaritonebassman9885 I looked up your version when I saw your name in the album credits - it's wonderful as well. Thank you for your incredible arrangement and your generosity in sharing - one of the things I love most about the acapella community.
That hit deep. (No pun intended on Tim and Chance carrying the song in their lower registers. Just happy coincidence.) After reading the song description, it made me realize that a lot of the anger I feel at what I see happening in our country right now is underlaid by an even deeper sadness that there is so much strife and division. We are all part of the human family, and it always hurts to be separated from your family.
This is the same thought that was running through my mind as they sang. Usually, I focus on the musicality with Home Free... This time the message hit me hard. As a veteran, I often had thoughts like this whenever we sent soldiers "over there". But lately, the way our country is ripping itself apart over what politicians have stirred up by trying to force us to "choose a side" has hit me. I'm starting to see signs of PTSD-like symptoms in the average people.
They shall not grow old As we who are left grow old Age shall not weiry them Nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun And in the morning WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM.
As a Vet ... I just don't have the words to describe the emotions that this song brings out....just wow guys, just wow ...... thank you .... incredible
Just some reverb and delay ... and I guess a ton of compressor and EQ'ing. They sing beautifully and with the imagery they put the lyrics in context. It is impeccably done!
@@gabriele_marrocco That doesn't make it any less phenomenal or them any less talented. I can't wait to hear them do this song live. I'm sure I'll be just as blown away.
This is now my favorite Home Free song. As a 26 year veteran, this song resonates with me. I was in high school when Dire Straits Brothers in Arms album was released (one of Adam Chance's favorites 8-). I remember watching footage of the Falkland Islands War on TV in the early 80s. Here are my top 5 (SO hard to pick because all their songs are great): 1. Brothers in Arms 2. Helplessly Hoping 3. Man of Constant Sorrow 4. How Great Thou Art 5. TIE: Good Ol' Country Harmony & Anyway the Wind Blows Honorable Mention: American Pie with Don McLean Keep up the great music Home Free; ya'll are my favorite band!!! P.S. These are the songs I find myself listening to over and over each day.
Every now and then you have the privelege to stumble upon a rendition of a seminal song; a performance which ought to go down as a pivotal moment in music history. Such is the wonder of Home Free's rendition of "Brothers in Arms." Beyond superlatives. Pure, refined, remarkable talent. Well done Brothers.
Apparently, they thought so. They asked the Finnish group, Club for 5 if they would let them use their score. A few changes from that version, but not much.
I have witnessed my brothers in arms. Now, I’m retired military, ready to walk our farms, smell the sweet, humidity, humility in the work of our land. It’s time…. Kentucky
As a mother who has lost a son to illness contracted while in Afghanistan this really hits home. My son knew PTSD well from his service and only true comrades know the story. As a mom my heart was heavy with his burden but I was proud of his service and the fact that he was in the process of re enlisting when the illness took his life.🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸 thank you Home Free to such a moving performance. Very few country bases groups capture my attention but you do with your continued stellar performances.
As an American, as a MOTHER of a son called to Service, I thank you, for raising your son to be the HERO our Country cannot exist without… and for your terrific Loss, I send you Love and Respect, and Thanks to your Son for his Service and, ultimately, his sacrifice. You are eternally revered.
Sending love and hugs. Both my boy's have served with one still in service and many family now retired after life time careers in service. Thank you for having such an amazing man and loving him through his lifetime and beyond.
This was just mind blowing words cannot express how great this song sounds Tim’s bass left me breathless and when Chance can in I got chills oh those harmonies are unbeatable and the cinematography was magnificent bravo 🙌👏
Mark Knopfler is a genius lyricist. What a heartwrenching song. WAR, it should always be the last possible option. No life is worth sacrificing for anything other than FREEDOM. My Cousin was a surgeon on a hospital ship in Vietnam & he refused to ever talk about what he saw during his service. Rest In Peace My Adopted Big Brothers Who Laid Down Their Lives In Vietnam. Home Free, I'm still crying. What an absolutely stunning rendition of "Brothers In Arms". Thank You.
I come from a family full of veterans, myself included. This song touched my heart and made me think of my brothers and sisters in arms who no longer can enjoy the fruits of their labors in service to their country. Thank you.
As a Navy Veteran, I can appreciate what these guys have done. It brings tears to my old eyes. I served during the Vietnam Nam War and lost friends. This is a nice tribute to lost soldiers and sailors and airmen who sacrificed. May God rest their souls! Thank you for Home Free and their talent. It is a real blessing to be able to listen to those beautiful voices.
Not only American but EVERY soldier that ever gave it his all in defense of 'democracy' and a freedom we can't have if facism takes us over. Beautiful rendition.
People while fighting today about issues we face; stop, think and look around at how many fought and died for the freedom many so willingly give away today. This nation was founded on principle that we looked out for and cared for each other; NO MATTER OUR DIFFERENCES... Today focus is on keeping division, then randomly thanking someone for their service; not ever taking the time to think about what that service member risked their life for... It wasn't for your battle for division, how is that for a direct hint... And yes, I am a veteran and would prefer you thank me by working together and not forcing opinions on each other.

I keep thinking that Adam Rupp is not sufficiently recognized for his talents. Not only is he a stellar beatboxer, but he sings excellent acapella, which anyone who's tried it can tell you is hard work.
The boys absolutely nailed this one, but... I wish they (or their producer) hadn't taken a British song and made it all about "America". All we see here is the American flag everywhere. This song is about war in general and transcends the boundaries of country, colour and religion. This could have had much more global appeal. Despite this, it is one of my favourite Home Free videos.
Rivals, or goes above and beyond the Pentatonics. So amazing. Challengers to the throne. But the bass and baritone, harmonizing with the sopranos and tenor, it's what drags me in. I was a Corpsman, First Gulf War. "I'mma save you!" As a field medic, you swear three oaths. The first, to uphold and protect the US constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. The second, the Hippocratic oath. "First, do no harm." Paraphrasing a bit. The third, is unwritten, unspoken, just understood. It's the override. Team comes first. It pre-empts all the others, because, well, sorry, if it's a little pragmatic sounding, "If you're dead, or I'm dead, I can't carry out the others. So, stay alive! If you die, we die." This is so much more pertinent. "I'd catch a grenade for you." for me, at least wasn't a song lyric. The entire ethos, we'd die for eachother, but... that's not exactly plan A. Stay alive! Weird thing they did to me, was, to try to make me unkillable. Innoculated, injected, gas chambers, trained with SEALs. I don't like guns, personally, but I was a medic. My side-arm was a Ka-Bar short blade. No intent to harm. Utility. I hate war. Sorry if it sounds unpatriotic. I worked on a warship, at VA hospitals, saw the damage it does. The lives cost, the crippling injuries. I was just, "No!" Ack! Long story short, love the music, the harmonization, the theme, the whole kit and caboodle. More about the music, the combination. It's... insanely good. The balance of the bass, baritone, tenor, soprano, it all, to me, at least represents team.
It not unpatrotic i Think every real war tryed soldier hates war its the “ warriors” at home who glorifieds it. Sorry for the misspelling im Danish and u Can be proud of ur service ur saved lifes ♥️
Phenomenal! Tim's voice continues to astound. I mean, come on! A month after singing the high notes in "My Maria," he blows speakers out with this wizardry! Wow, just wow!
Our son was in Afghanistan and is now suffering with his mental health. His family at that time were very young. This song brings back so many memories and thank u. Could feel your compassion all the way through
The fact that they sound just like a pipe organ is both breathtaking and gives the song a feeling of reverence and sanctity. I thought about sending them a message before this video came out. I struggle with a chronic illness, which is a different kind of battle and war. This song hit me right in the feels because it addresses things about my life that most people don't get to see. Thank you Home Free for such a moving song. You managed to touch the hearts of those who are impacted by the armed forces and their struggles, plus you touched those of us fight a different kind of war. Thank you.
I hear you. You, me and so many others with all types of chronic illness, those who have military folk in their families. This helps to feel the connection we all have.

Hauntingly beautiful! Had never heard this song but Tim and Adam Chance sang it with perfection. As a mother who has a son in the military this reminded me of what could have happened when he was 18 and in the Iraq war. Also of my father who served bravely in World War 2 and live to tell his family of what he endured in a German prison camp. Freedom isn’t, free there is always someone who has to sacrifice his/her life so we can stay free.
The original was written and performed by Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) about the losses in the falklands war in the 80’s. It’s an epic song, with a great guitar solo too (if you get a chance to listen to the original). They did a load of other great songs too …Romeo and Juliet is a particular fave!
I have lost a cousin in Afghanistan, and it causes me great sorrow knowing that some that has fought and died for freedom, not just for the USA, but for other countries as well, are burried in other countries that hate Americans. This song really touches my heart. Hopefully it makes others remember the sacrifices all made that fought for freedom. (Some gave it all). Thank you Home FREE.
Thank you Home Free for covering this amazing song. Almost 37 years ago, my father passed away when I was only 15. We used the original Dire Straits version of this for my Dad's funeral and every time I hear it, I cry. Today was no exception. Thank you again for taking a beautiful song and raising it to another level. I love you alll.
This is amazing. One of Home Free's very best songs. I'd love to see a collaboration with Mark Knopfler on this-Home Free on vocals, Mark on guitar. The best of both worlds.
I don't understand.. Why isn't this at over a million views? This is SUPER meaningful, deep, and accurate for everything on going today. This doesn't have the support it NEEDS.
My guess is that this is not at country song, and I suspect the majority of Home Fries are country fans. Also, there are so few of us who have served in this country, the meaningfulness to veterans and their families does not necessarily result in a ton of views. No of that diminishes the brilliance of this song though!
When I first saw this was going to be a premiere, I was like is it going to be "that" Brothers In Arms...the Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler Brothers In Arms. I always loved that song...for its depth....simplicity...its meaning. I listened to the Home Free version tonight...impressed by their rendition. It captures the essence of the original, the depth, the simplicity. Once again Home Free pays tribute...they come through...and this Veteran appreciates their efforts. Thank you Home Free.
I just listened to the original before coming back yet again to this, wondering why this version ALWAYS leaves me bawling, while the original doesn't. I think it's because Dire Straits' version is the low key melancholy of survival which inspires contemplation and remembrance. The raging storm is over. You survived. You're worn out, you're grieving for those who were lost, but you *survived*. Home Free? You're still in the raging storm. They just reach in and rip out your heart with the emotional reality of war.
Totally agree with others- a great patriotic song for not just Memorial Day, but 4th of July, Veterans Day- Id love to see Home Free get invited to sing it live at the National Memorial Day celebration next year!!
I've had my tix since early summer to see you in Des Moines on Dec 15 (which would make my 6th time over 5 different states); however, cannot go because we would have to show our papers. Cannot express how disappointed I am. Your harmonies are so haunting in this one -- you did the legendary Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits proud. God bless and thank you for the beauty, joy and laughter you have brought to my life.
God bless all veterans who answered the call of duty to serve as a Brother in Arms. God bless those men and women who died for their nations cause. I don't have much love for the axis of WW2 but know that many of the poor boys shoved into battle, just wanted to live, go home an love someone, and have a real life. Sure some were so fanatical that they didn't know this, but most were just scared little boys who wanted there mommies. If you were faced with an assured death, who would be in your last thoughts. God bless all those who faced real death, weather form an enemy bullet or bomb, or as I did in the Coast Guard, in 1976, and the terrors of an angry sea, aboard a 40 year old Coast Guard cutter, in 1976, in 30 foot seas, in the Gulf of Alaska... The portholes showed grey sky one second and deep green water the next. I mostly just prayed and ask for Gods mercy... Also I was a freaking seasick son of a bitch most the time. And I was a cook... I don't recommended my Parmesan Chicken dinner just before we entered the Straight of Juan De Fucha...
Am I the only one who thinks Tim sings "we're forced to make war..." instead of the original line ("we're fools to make war...") at the end of the song? would actually fit just as well
33 years in an Air Force uniform, continuos active duty from 1975 to 2000. No one ever came within 25 ft of hitting me, thank my God. But I knew my share of people who paid the ultimate price to accomplish a mission they took on as theirs.
I. Pray that some day we can learn to live together without fighting each other. I lost my Father to WW2 and I served in the U.S.Navy so I haves stood up for our country and. Would again, I just wish that would not have to happen.

Feel it brother...My tears are pooring...the memories, the good and the bad...
My life would be complete if I could hear Home Free singing "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother"
Oh man. As a veteran, this struck a cord in my heart and memories for my fellow brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and succumbed to the mental wounds of duty. I was crying. Thanks for the tears. For the reminders of their memories.
Thank you for your service!
Took the words right of my head an Thank ya for Ur Service Sister… 14 yr Army Vet here… it’s a daily battle, but keep Marchin On
My son flew with the Corps in Iraq. This touched me, and I had to send it to him. Absolutely beautiful! There is no song they have ever covered than has not improved on the original imo. Such extraordinary talent.
From sister to brother amen my brother thank you for saying my mind better than i could
To make this more special, I did Honor Guard a couple times for my base and was given the opportunity to present the folded flag to the retiree and veterans families. It’s one of those details you have to be for lack of better terms, “emotionally constipated” and maintain military bearing at all costs. But if I were to hear this at a ceremony, I’d be done.
Sick… just sick! Tim is otherworldly! Great to hear him back down in the “depths” again….rattling our souls and drowning our senses with “bass-ly” perfection!
the best way to describe it is "Sepulchere" like death is walking by and speaking...
He is smooth, isn't he?
The song has lost nothing of its topicality, on the contrary, the message is more current than ever. It is very emotional. You guys did a fantastic job. Tim's and Chance's voices are so phenomenal! Wow 💥
Unfortunately this song will always be current. We live in a war world and always have.

I somewhat under stood the original version but I understand the lyrics better now with this version. Well Done..
Someone make sure Mark Knopfler sees this especially with Tim and Chance taking the lead vocals. Great arrangement of one of my very favorite songs and so appropriate now.
Do you really think that Home Free used Knopfler's song without notifying him first and clearing all licensing/copyright issues? 🤔
@@WassPogoreloff You can buy the rights from the publishing clearing house so notifying Mark not only not necessary but there was no reason for the publishing house to inform Mark.

We actually need Home Free more of more of slow country and blues songs because they are absolutely king of their harmony.
I couldn't agree with you more.

I concur.
Yes! Great comment!
They are the gold standard of a cappella singing and in my opinion the best music group in the world.
well said!
Agree 100% , Best musical group, period.
There’s room for all three: Pentatonix; Home Free AND Voice Play!
Thank you to all who served for our freedom 👏🏻🙏🏻
hi Ann how are you doing today 😊❤
Thank you from my heart to your husband for his service
Hello Goran. How are you doing?
Very well said sir. In the end we are all just people. We're born we live, we die. What we do in between makes us brothers. I just wish that we didn't have to band together to kill others to experience this bond. God Bless ya Brother.
Brother... It is simply the sound of freedom. Freedom.
Listen to the original version. ruclips.net/video/Gerr99h0nS8/видео.html
@@johnbrock8105 well vocal fry isnt necessarily to hit subterranian notes it is just used to slightly distort the voice kind of like distortion on an electric guitar. I've got several friends serving in the military, though not in the field. Yet it's so sad to see, how bad the Gernan citizens think of our military, having heard stories of soldiers being spat on in the train etc. I cannot respect and thank you guys enough for your service.
@greg is back Vielen Dank für Deine Dienstzeit, Deine Verpflichtung, Deinen Einsatz.
Chance can actually hit notes close to Tim.
They shall not grow old
As we who are left grow old
Age shall not weiry them
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM.

2. Helplessly Hoping
3. Man of Constant Sorrow
4. How Great Thou Art
5. TIE: Good Ol' Country Harmony & Anyway the Wind Blows
Honorable Mention: American Pie with Don McLean

Every now and then you have the privelege to stumble upon a rendition of a seminal song; a performance which ought to go down as a pivotal moment in music history. Such is the wonder of Home Free's rendition of "Brothers in Arms." Beyond superlatives. Pure, refined, remarkable talent. Well done Brothers.
Apparently, they thought so. They asked the Finnish group, Club for 5 if they would let them use their score. A few changes from that version, but not much.

Thank you and wonderful song. Lost my husband 2 years ago. He was a Vietnam Veteran
"I'mma save you!"
As a field medic, you swear three oaths.
I was just, "No!"
Ack!

Ethereal. Haunting. Gut wrenching. Soul stirring. Angelic. The only thing missing was the seraphic choir backing them up.
Hello Gaia how are you doing today, merry Christmas in advance
I just realized Chance is my all time favorite singer of HF.
Brothers in arms. We have to help everyone to stop 🛑 this madness around the world
I have listened to this twice now am on my third time. I can feel this song to my bones.
Hi Ginger how are you doing today?
Wow. In awe as usual. Heres the tears too. Lovely guys.
AWESOME! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tim's deep, deep voice!!?
The sound of at the end 4:30 makes me think I'm listening to a pipe organ in a cathedral. Simply amazing.
No tears here! Just lubricating my eyes! Beautiful! 20 yrs Vet here.
This is so touching; fabulous cover of this poignant song, Home Free.
Just left me speechless and breathless.
Only one word comes to mind
AWESOME.
Am I the only one who thinks Tim sings "we're forced to make war..." instead of the original line ("we're fools to make war...") at the end of the song? would actually fit just as well
I thought I heard 'forced' first time through. After reading the lyrics and listening again, I heard Tim following the lyrics.
The arrangement was done by Susanna and Jouni from Club For Five in 2008.
Yup, I'm wondering why they weren't credited??
@@SSJ3Tim I'd expect that kind of move from Apple, but not from them ... :)
Would think that musicians were loyal to each other.
Go back and read the credits. They do credit both with the arrangement.
@@MCraft-md2rm now they do - for the first few days they didn't 😉
Such Respect!!
33 years in an Air Force uniform, continuos active duty from 1975 to 2000. No one ever came within 25 ft of hitting me, thank my God. But I knew my share of people who paid the ultimate price to accomplish a mission they took on as theirs.
25 feet?
I. Pray that some day we can learn to live together without fighting each other. I lost my Father to WW2 and I served in the U.S.Navy so I haves stood up for our country and. Would again, I just wish that would not have to happen.
I had this song on my headphones and watched the Columbia explosion. Hard for me to deal with even after all these years. Epic job Home Free!!!!
Very powerful piece gentlemen. Quite moving. 9 year military veteran here
Beautiful song, love you brother's.
Love this. I love that you know / knew/ found Club for Five.
Brothers in Arms! 👨❤️👨
The words “you did not desert me my brothers in arms” hit so fucking deep
