Very interesting to watch the differences made from one modifier to the next, especially adding the small central diffuser! I never expected it to add a stop of exposure. I'm not a fan of the alien spacecraft look to the specular highlight, but maybe if I saw it in person on my own monitor I could better appreciate it. Thanks again, Peter!
My pleasure!
Love your talk through of the process of adjusting the light. Can’t wait to try.
Thanks :)
Lovely Julia so well shot by Peter. Thanks for this excellent work.
Thank you
Peter, I'm loving your videos and Bec is a real highlight to them! This video is really helpful to us with much less experience...particularly in a studio setting. You're a great instructor and I like the "outloud" kind of thinking as you work.
Glad you like them thanks Steve
I really appreciate your perspective and context when making decisions, it makes me want to just try stuff!
Thank you
Nice toys. The detail of the highlights in her eyes is incredible. Happy holidays to you and Bec and your families.
Thanks heaps, Same to you!
In my opinion, Best video I’ve seen of yours! Really enjoyed the tutorial aspect and how you talked and walked through the light one step at a time.
Awesome, thank you :)
Been working so much it was a treat for me to come home and get a Peter and Becc fix. Thank you Julia, absolutely marvelous. :)
You're so welcome!
Thanks for another great video. It was fascinating to listen to your thought process and what you were looking at in the images.
My pleasure!
I’ve missed your videos. Thank you for posting.
You are so welcome!
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer I've been using many things I have learned from your videos and people (friends) are starting to offer me money to do their portraits (I have not accepted their money yet as they are friends). Thank you.
Always amazing. Easy to follow and understand. Thank you
You're very welcome!
What a fantastic tutorial on how to fine tune using one light. I hope I can get as much as possible from the highly intensive continuous info flow. Thanks.
Thank you
I use these beauty dishes quite a bit. I get my best results by moving the light as close to the model as I can get it. Pretty model, fun assistant (also pretty) I've been following you for a year or so. Very cool studio. You got me tethering. I'd never done it before watching you. It helps a LOT. Thanks for your teachings. It looks like you've dropped a few. Pandemic groceries must be healthier / not as much eating out.
Thanks for sharing!
The lighting diffusion really balances the subject illumination. 👍 The white ring light reflection in the eyes along with red pupils, are two items that I like to avoid. Thanks for showing the beauty lighting.
Awesome, thank you!
Another awesome video Peter, I love the look you can get with that big reflector thing.
Thanks 👍
Great video, solid information, got me glued to the screen for the whole session.
Everybody thanks for the effort you every time put into these awesome videos
Nice weekend and stay safe !
Thanks for sharing !!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great to see you again. Missed you guys.
I really enjoyed this one. The toys added and removed showed so many looks.
Merry Christmas to you both.
..Joe
Thanks! You too!
The lighting aspect details are fascinating!
Thanks
Even though it was about _this_ light shaper, it was a fun walkthru the lighting process and the things you're looking for.
Thanks :)
Really enjoyed this, amazing as always, love the photos of the model. Stunning work from all three of you... Hope you produce more video's soon.. Brilliant.. 🤗 💜 💚
Thanks so much!
Mastery, absolutely experienced!
Thanks heaps
Watching you working is so amazing the life time of knowledge you have really shows in the ease in which you create your images and the relaxed nature is beautiful to watch , the down side is I realise I am still in early Neanderthal stage of development with photography . Great to watch your work.
Thank you so much 😀
So glad tutorials are back!
Thanks More to come!
Hi All Great Video really enjoyed the hole 36 minutes. keep up the Great work. Merry Christmas All.
Glad you enjoyed it
You guys always bring the FIRE!!!!
I wish I could shoot right now :(
Great video! Love to see your workflow!
Thanks so much!
Great video, she is beautiful!! Happy holidays from Texas..
All pics were fantastic, but the black-and-white ones were my favorites and in my opinion, she got more beautiful than she is. So lovely... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you
You worked your magic yet again 👍 but poor Bec’s was suffering, you drive her too hard 😂
Very Francesco Scavullo nicely done!
Thank you! Cheers!
Interresting as always Peter ! Nice shoots
Many thanks!
This entire exercise was fascinating... and a beautiful model. What's not to like?
Thank you
Thanks guys for this. I missed your videos already...
More to come :)
Nice product , hey Marry Christmas you guys looking forward to all the new wonderful information you’re going to give in 2021 , one for Peter 🍺 one for Bec 🍷
Thanks! You too!
I ENJOYED YOUR SHOW . VERY FINE SHOTS THANKS . HAVE A GREAT XMAS FROM IRELAND
Thanks, you too!
i LOVED the technical "review" Thank you
This was a fantastic example of direction of light and quality. Good fun trying to keep up with the inner monologue calculations. It was amazing to watch the photograph seemingly morph from unacceptable, to a beautiful image. My question is... How was the stage lit, apart from the Savage light?
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and help others. It feels like I'm perfecting my skills and enjoying your sessions at the same time. An entertaining tutorial... Does it get any better?
Thanks heaps, It was just lit with the Savage light
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer
Amazing! Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I am curious what that light boom is? And and thanks for the more technical details for us that have been around a bit.
I think the lightformer would show even more of its effect with a standart ProPhoto frosted-bulb-head. Well done review so. Keep up the good work!
Thanks :) I'm doing a video comparing bulb head v flat head
Very nice pictures! Love it
Thank you! Cheers!
Great review. It's amazing the options we have now. My biggest issues is choosing which modifier to use it always seems. My problem is I use multiple lights almost all the time. And now with certain lines having everything from speedlights to 1200watt power packs I can have a single lightsource lighting one thing. And another lighting something else. With another giving nothing more then an edge effect.
And to be brutally honest. I love seeing Bec. She's adorable. Even Hangry and without wine. Her personality adds a lot to the videos. Kinda keeping it real. A regular girl that's pretty and works, and can dial her look to a 15 on a 10 scale with just a touch of makeup. Great assistant to work with and smart.
What do you do for commercial work that you're backed up with? Just wondering.
Thanks heaps
Omg such a face to start with so pretty
Nice job! Been a while since you've done a shoot! I really like the Savage without the diffuser - the catch light is a ring of dots which I've only seen in the Broncolor para's. As usual, you get the most of your models.
I've a similar modifier. The grid helps if I'm trying to control spill and bounce. It's much more noticeable if the key is off-center or used in your clamshell setup
Awesome to see the process and experimentation! As an “always”learning hobbyist I tend to believe the pros step up and everything is perfect with the first shot.
For me the link to the shirts wasn’t working, may just be something on my end but worth mentioning. 👍👍👍👍😂
Thanks heaps, I fixed the T-Shirt link :)
You look gorgeous girl be prompt i like the glasses and wild girl look 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Photographer artist always protects his Models i love that few others like that too Leonard Nimoy and Stan Lee remember them they carried on and you all too and Bob Ross 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🎵🎶🌈
Thanks!
Both of u are lovely
cool video to watch and learn. thanks.
Thanks for watching
Exelente clase...
Peter, I'm gonna switch from elinchrom to profoto, but what triggers do you use, because profoto doesn't have special triggers for Hasselblad (just like you I'm shooting with the H6D)
Hi Paul, I dont use ETTL so it doesnt matter what trigger you get from Profoto but the one I use is the Air remote :)
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer tnx, ETTL isn't an issue for me. I never use it.
Odiens must watch your videos until the end because big surprises are hidden at the end -sometimes so I suggest every body to watch Peter's videos from start to end because the unspected happening can be in evrey moment of the Peter's video .
Thank you :)
Please help me by shutting your expertise. Ireally love this modifier. I'm having trouble finding the largest size in the US. Only selling the 31" version. Is there something comparable, roughly twice the size you recommend for constant light?
Thank you
Sorry it looks like it has been discontinued
Yes its Good Teaching too 🎓
Nice video keep it up........
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 good ending 😉
Hi Peter, when you were measuring the light on the models chest, was that the red channel?
no I was measuring all channels
Niceee
Great video. Surprising how little the grid did at this angle of light. Can I ask which boom stand you are using? I need to get one for my (quite heavy) Broncolor Siros L's, and the one you have looks sturdier than what I've found so far.
Thanks it's a Manfrotto Megaboom
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer Thank you so much! Megaboom it is then :-)
I so wish ACR had the better curve behavior of Phocus.
so do I
BEC ROCKS....
Right about at the 33:59 minute mark, I think that pose would look fantastic on a t-shirt.
Like both of you
What is the boom you are using on the Kupo stand?
Manfrotto Megaboom
@@PeterCoulsonPhotographer Thank you. Was looking at it but wasn't sure what it looked like in use or how the functions worked! Appreciate the videos!
No worries at all :) I always have all my gear listed in the description if you are ever curios about what I'm using
Can you please provide a link to the boom stand you are using?
www.manfrotto.com/au-en/mega-boom-black-stand-not-included-practical-and-strong-425b/
I'm rewatching this video and Peter keeps saying it is a relector and not a beauty dish. I understand a beauty dish is white, but can he at some point explain what he sees as the difference and how the two are used differently or produce different results? Thanks! Bec you rock!
Silver destroys the beautiful ring light affect you get from a white beauty dish.
I like it when it had no refuser on it, but it would be better to modify the light facing inwards on a focusing rod like a Para Broncolour modifier.
The image on the T-shirt is beautiful, but I cannot imagine where even a man in the model's league could wear such a shirt in public.
when her tennis career is over, Maria Sharapova shoud consider being in front of the lens
Bec my love. :D
It's good
B/W fits what we was taught as kids Keystone Cops W.C. Fields movies etc. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Basis on Lighting Halo back old days indians take that as sign they get punished if bad indians but Halo works for Kind Generous Indians 🧐😉
Wow
Good
Bec it’s time to clean the sensor on the vlogging camera.
Interesting
Thanks
👍💯🌹
hate sharpening, yes.. thats a curse on digital, its on by default on every software and people even increase it after it.

Loss in Paris
Bec, you have such a sweet and amusing way about you! 😉
I could not love that B&W headline photo more. Just saying.
Thanks heaps
She looks like Maria Sharapova
As a photographer the last thing i would want be is try and be controlling, I am always kind . but that's just me
Hmmm...
The ditsy opening was worthless. Once you got rolling, I liked your process.
Not real photograaphy .
what's real photography lols
All an elaborate hoax, right? Nobody's actually taken a picture since 620 film went out of production.
