That purple/blue to grey contrast really POPS!
Yea the layout that you have in the main video is exactly how I’d display it, with the big gun on his left hand & the 3 tentacles on the right. It’s a really cool statue, I’m not usually a big fan of XM Studios but this is a really nice statue.
I agree, I like the mixing of weapon concepts. Looks more fun that way.

@The Xtreme Channel What's hilarious is that I was visually focused and cued up for arms in the air by that intro montage and my eyes instantly went to your back wall gambit, wolverine, and rogue doing the same pose as well.
You nailed this review Mr. X. I agree completely, it's the value and price that continues to stop me from getting this. I've almost pulled the trigger a few times now and he does look great (what an incredible sculpt) but its hard to justify the value here. Everything from your review was on point, been waiting for this video to drop! :)

I really love this statue, even with the color and pose controversies. The price is what kills this piece for me. Everything you laid out was on point... not too long ago prices were reasonable and companies slowly kept raising that price ceiling. When will enough be enough? We'll have to see. I know a lot of collectors are buying a fraction of what they used to (myself included) and others are getting out of the hobby completely.
That's how I know I like a piece. I look at the price and don't blink. However, that does turn off the idea of buying future pieces from XM, because a lot of their 1/4 scale products feature 1/3 scale prices.
Ok first off all purple is my favorite color so the fact that they incorporated purple on this sculpt of Apocalypse is just fantastic to me. I love everything about this Apocalypse piece except for the price. They did an amazing job, from the Egyptian theme base and colors, to the fantastic switch outs. That scarab pincers weapon and the intricacy of the big guns. Not to mention the two portraits that make him look so bad ass are superbly done. Believe it or not I even like the pose. He is standing there as he is showing off his powers as if he is saying "Behold the mighty Apocalypse. Now get ready to feel his wrath!" I definitely love this piece except for the price as I said. Thanks alot XM studios, way to make an incredible sculpt of a fantastic villain and make it unattainable for those who aren't so well off. Congratulations on obtaining this piece Mr. X, it is definitely a 5/5 for sure.
The purple is actually why I love this so much, it really highlights the armor. To me it’s one of the best XM statues to date 💪
I'm amazed how many people aren't aware that: 1. The color is indigo, not purple. 2. Indigo is appropriate because tje dye is prevalent in various regions in Africa from multiple sources- beetles, minerals, etc.

this is such a great peice dispite the Indigo that DT pointed out, would have loved to PO it but personally I have the Sideshow with a sentimental attachement to it.
I've switched all my order to Cosmic Chase instead of Spec Fiction. All statues are like $100-$200 cheaper. Found them through you, so appreciate it!

The statue is huge I really love the way that his display works out with the style they went with. Make some look bigger than life.
Apocalypse is my favorite X-MEN villain I have the SS one and really wanted to get this piece the things keeping me dragging my feet are mostly the purple I loved the prototype reveal but the purple throws me off and for the price Im having trouble going all in on it.
Epic! Picked up the Archangel and might get the new Magneto.
I like how they captured Apocalypse’s powers from his original X Factor run since he rarely uses them nowadays. Would pair nicely with the a Cable.
He does look awesome I do like your throne version of him the best still because of his Egyptian throne. I always say it but whenever you're assembling the statues and you got X-Men going I just think it's like Saturday morning cartoons. You are right chick's dig purple because remember Vicki Vale said it to Joker as she distracted him so Batman could punch him LOL

5:45 Geez.. after all these years (since it's release) I still love that music theme from the X-men The animated series. 😍 It's up there with the one from Batman TAS.

Yep, this pose on any statue annoys me. And yes I confess I confuse the two characters myself. Bad me! XM did a magnificent job on the sculpt, and I think the purple is nice change in the collection. 😄

I've gotten a few 1/4 scale PCS statues on sale from sideshow in the past from $250 to $350 and a few sideshow premium 1/4 scale for around $400; in all happy with the quality of the pieces vs price point. Next level would be my older Prime 1 1/4 scales, most of these were in the $500 to $600 range along with a few 1/3 scales at $650 to $750. Lastly comes my XM 1/4 scale scales and they hang around $500 to $700 (I've gotten a few direct Singapore deals for cheap). Might I add, the price ranges I gave is roughly around what I paid shipped.... Now comes today's prices vs what I was paying just a few years ago, you have 1/4 scales on the average going for $1000+ from studios I've never heard of before and a great deal of these statues aren't even very elaborate pieces, I'm talking basic stand and museum pose. I guess it can be argued to a point that the quality and detail of statues has gotten better and if we're comparing Bowen and C.S. Moore statues from the late 90s and early 2000s I would say your correct but if we're talking 2013 to now (depending on the maker)I would say > not so much, think I paid around $400 shipped for my sideshow Lady Death PF in 2014 and the base, sculpt , paint and overall design still stands out over some of my 2020 and 2021 pieces that were double and some triple that price. I guess what I'm saying is why is $1000+ becoming the new norm?....material cost? ....labor cost?(doubt it).... they know well buy whatever they throw at us?(likely). Low end for a 1/4 is increasingly becoming (regardless of quality and size) $1000+ and high end $1600+ with some lower edition sizes 150 to 300 hitting at $2500+ (still talking 1/4 scale). Low edition sizes are nice as you tend to get a better quality piece (less mold ware and paint apps can be a bit more clean,detailed and precise) but is it worth double the cost? If we're talking about something that's worth $50 and to get a better quality I'm going to pay $100 then sure I'll pay the extra, but take something that's worth $800 and because of a low edition size it's $1600 ima tell you to go fkin triple your Ed size and I'll buy your sh*tz for $800. Maybe my overall attitude would be different if financially things were different for me but I doubt it, recognizing being over charged is the same for everyone regardless of your pay bracket.
I think this is amazing piece. love the purple also. Pose isn't a big deal for me either but that price tag😬. I still want to get though might have to take out a loan 🤣
I really wanted this but when I found it was two boxes, I’d passed on it. This is a great looking statue.

The hieroglyphics, with him on to and ask his celestial tech looks awesome, there is no real bad point outside in kinda generic pose that I don't like

Despite the fact that the pose has been played out, the rest of the statue still looks really good. There's some other aspects of it that I wish they went in a different direction in but overall it's a nice piece

It's made really well. The price tag is just too much for me. I have the Sideshow version and although this is easily better, it doesn't feel $1500 better.
Pose is the main factor for me too and I hated this pose as well which is why I passed. They botched the pain job anyway. Purple Apocalyse.

Cool statue, great switch outs. This piece looks huge and the tentacles are cool. The nod to the egyptian stuff is cool but Tbh i really love the apocalypse you have in your giveaway photo at the end of each video.

As much as I love my XM Cyclops and Jean (Green) I have to say this and the Dark Phoenix are the best X-Men Statues from XM
Great review. Love the base. Color is popping. Love everything but the arm gesture/pose. It’s starting to be common for XM to use this arm pose. Reminds me of Fred Flintstone’s bowling strike pose. Lol. Overall it’s a great statue.

This statue is amazing except for the pose which was the deal breaker for me. Wish they made left arm switch outs with different poses...just my preference tho, congrats to those who grabbed this piece!

The problem with the movie portrayal was the actors stature was underwhelming compared to his comic and cartoon portrayal.
Not a fan of the base but other than that it works.

It’s not a bad statue but why the fuck would they add that electric purple to his face ON HIS LIPS. They took a pretty amazing statue and almost ruined it with that paint choice. And damn although it’s pretty fuckin cool this thing is expensive as hell
