I prefer the stance of the XM studio, but would choose the custom one for almost all other major perspectives. Mr X is gonna keep them both I guess.
XM all the way for me, better colour choices, definition, superior portraits and big bonus points for steering clear of the archetypal snowscape base. The 'snow' on the custom base looks like icing mixed with shaving foam! ES or value aren't important to me, It's purely a choice between which piece I prefer. I'm not into snobbish exclusivity, never have been, It's very false. If one actually stops and thinks about the cost of these things neither represent particularly good value, one must never lose sight that they are just big chunks of resin. The only choice is personal preference, nothing else matters!
This was a tough one. Yes XM’s base would go well with other X-Men pieces but I’m still leaning towards the custom one
THEY ARE BOTH FANTASTIC. XM STUDIOS IMO. PLUS FINALY, A SABRETOOTH STATUE WIHOUT A SNOW BASE.👊🏽
Both are great looking statues. the custom in my opinion has the better hair color but overall I prefer XM

I think either statue would make an excellent addition to any persons collection depending on what a person can afford.
I agree that there is no clear cut "winner" because it depends on what you could afford. The custom with a top notch paint job added to it is probably the overall better statue but the XM piece is just as awesome for the price tag. Really cool. A Sabertooth fan would be thrilled with either of them. GOD Bless as always Brother!

The texture in the suit is what made me pick this one.
I am baffled that someone would buy one if he has the other, you really got to love the character!
I love both of them. I personally think that the XM would take the cake if it was sent to a master painter. Like you pointed out with the XM Sabertooth that you rarely see him NOT in the snow. Either way, you cannot go wrong with either of them.

I'm going with the custom one for sure! When I think sabertooth the snow base is what comes to mind not the training room.
If I was a judge for this Xtrumble, I would go with the XM. I really like the portraits XM offers
I think overall the custom Sabretooth is the better statue, although they are both great🙌 That professional paint job is just fantastic and something I've only noticed after watching more statue reviews, is the hair color. It is super common to have a bright yellow instead of blonde, which works for comic books but the more natural looking color is a really nice change. When I look at the snow on the custom base I can hear the sounds of stepping into snow, so cool🥶
You’re right both are great pieces! If you gave a master painter XM Sabertooth it would bring out all the fine details also. True I do choose license pieces personally. 🙌
They're both great statues. If I had to pick, I'd chose the custom one because I think it has better texturing, shading, and overall details. I also like the base and its more realistic. To me, that one really captures Sabertooth. XM's is a good piece. It reminds me of the Sabertooth from MvC 2

I have to agree with your winner reasoning overall i think the xm is the all around better choice though the custom is fantastic, The thing i love most about the xm other than the base is the way his fur looks like its blowing in the wind, makes him seem much more dynamic to me like his picture was taken right as he was pouncing either way good stuff man.
I love both Sabretooths. The custom one looks awesome and details are amazing and unique. Portraits looks menacing too. I vote for Custom Sabretooth. But in terms of licensed statues gotta have that XM Sabretooth. The base looks great. The overall concept on Sabretooth is your standard Comics X-Men look and color. Tough choice 😎👍

I think the cost alone would steer most towards the XM. Quality of both is excellent.
They’re both really cool but I prefer the SS Sabretooth. The stitching and details (I think) are done very well.
Both look awesome but if i had to choose it would be the custom. I personally have to get the SS sabretooth and Wolverine combo. Thanks for the video Mr.X.
My favorite version of my favorite villain. I love Sabretooth and these status are amazing looking. The detail is jaw dropping
Edit: The one on the danger room base would be my preferred version. That's the one modeled from the old 90s cartoon
I prefer the look of the XM one better. I like the colors better, and the sculpt better (at a distance). It obviously lacks some detail up close, but in general I think it looks better as a whole.
Some very good points made, but I would go with the XM statue if I had to choose. The five foot view is more appealing. The custom has some great detail work though. The best answer is why choose, keep both! 👏👍
That's a coincidence, I bought a secondhand Sideshow Classic Sabertooth PF today for only 240 USD all in. It will go very nicely with my Sideshow PF Wolverine (the one on the bridge) which I also bought secondhand for a steal.
The custom on has a better sculpt. However the XM statue looks more polished and the claws aren't too oversized unlike the custom one that looks spoons.
Really hard to pick one. They each have aspects that I love.
You make a great case for both but I'd def. say the custom is the superior piece..much more menacing & intimidating looking than xm's, along with better art direction as you stated. Once again, awesome video Mr. X, keep up the fantastic work & thank-you for all that you do.

I like the colour of the XM fur but the base of the custom. Custom is winner in my books though
Wow, that's a lot of bang for the buck on XM. Imagine if the paint was a little better, or if it was painted by a master.

Sabretooth is one of my favorite villains. I'm too cheap to buy one, but I prefer windowshopping the latest Sideshow version.

Personally, I prefer the XM only because the same sculptor who did the XM Omega Red also did this one (I believe) so they automatically look great together, even if they are not the “best” ones out there. I like consistency and continuity with my statues, like pairings. Not to mention that Omega Red and Sabretooth are the best villains in the X-men universe because they are tortured souls who take a beating and keep on ticking the best ways they know how.
I love them both. I'm leaning towards XM.
I like the custom better but as you stated you can sell the license piece faster but the custom rules thanks for sharing mr.x

The Custom one is the easy winner for me. While I appreciate the XM Studios statue and it's overall design, the sculpt of the custom (especially the portraits) takes it to a level the XM just can't reach.
I think there both amazing statues i would kill to have have even one of them. SABERTOOTH RULES!!!!!
Something about Sabertooth on a snow base really appeals to me. Guess it goes back to his 1st appearance in Iron Fist 14.
And forget the haters. I think most of them are only as aggressive as they are because they can hide behind the anonymity of the internet.
I prefere the custom one for the waaay better paint and the textures. But i like the the color on the hair and mane on the xm better, as well as the flow direction
Custom one gets the nod, I enjoy the base better fits sabertooth more. As far as sabertooth himself more detailed in the custom one as well.

Absolutely the custom. I agree with how the bases going with other pieces is important but I don’t collect lineups. I never did like the mechanical/danger room base on any statues. The biggest difference for me really is the texture... not a fan of the plain flat look.
Xm studios does a phenomenal job. I think it would be great if you could switch the base.
I like the XM Sabretooth better. Comic, animated series and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 accurate. If only XM Sabretooth had a snowy base to ge that perfect licensed Sabretooth statue. Cool review.
I love the custom Sabertooth.But for the price for me I would go with XM
I think there isn't much in it between them but the price would be the bit that would sway me to the XM version
Wow. This is truly going to be very difficult for me. The only thing I can say is I would choose the XM Sabretooth because of the cost. They both have an excellent dynamic pose and fearce look. As far as the base is concerned, I like the snow wooded one best. There is really no good reason for Sabretooth to be in the danger room, unless he would eather be attacking the X men or joined them. Besides one of the most epic battle is between Sabretooth and Wolverine. Even though it could happen anywhere, In my mind and heart it would take place in a wooded snowy place. So after all that I would still take the XM one for the price and still be very happy.
Both great statues, especially when you consider the price difference.
It hurts me to say it, as a XM Sabretooth owner, but the custom is better all around. Only reason I don't have it because I could not find one for sell
It's such a toss-up for me, many aspects from each that I prefer over the other. Pretty cool that there's no right answer here, since there's multiple fantastic Sabretooth statues on the market!
I think they custom wins overall, but not at 3 X the cost. I like the fur on the XM better, but I prefer simpler bases. It's a conundrum.

Would be hard for me to say which one is better. There are things I like better about about each one over the other. If budget wasn't an issue I would go with the custom, its a great one and you get the extra switch out, otherwise it would be the XM.

The custom one seems somehow bigger, and the portrait is better IMO. The XM base is waaayyy better and for the price compare to the custom one, it is a no brainer. They are both awesome statues though.
