  • I received many requests explaining my short vid where I jumped in a pool with a back pack and stated I was ' Breaking in New Equipment'.
This one has a bit more explanation to it.

Great video my friend….. the old school way of testing gear is always a sure way for sure…..👍🏻‼️
FYI… KIWI makes a spray that is also very affective to for water proofing boots and tents…
    Thanks again for sharing…‼️👍🏻
    Stay Strong my friend…👍🏻🪖🇺🇸

I wouldn't use highly chlorinated pool water unless I wanted to lighten up the color much. Our old favorite way to break in gear was to roll around a muddy river bank then go for a swim/walk in the river.

Thats how we did it in the Army. This morning I noticed that my rucksack has a nice streak in it now. Thanks MJ

I buy concentrated Permethrin SFR 36.8% from solutionsstore then mix 1 bounce or more to 1 gallon water. Much more affordable and I can make it more or less its up to me. Then I soak everything from the cloths and socks to my tent. Everything.

If that ruck breaks, try Savotta, they’re unbreakable.

That water sure looks refreshing on a hot day. After you break in your pack, is there anything I should do to keep it maintained after that? Great video, Doyle. 👍

Apply permethrin in and out. That will keep the bugs and germs out of it for a long time. Seriously, if you will be in the woods for a long time you need to apply that stuff to everything.
