@Myriad Prussian Flag still was used in Prussia post 1871 though because it was the largest of 5 kingdoms within the Empire. So the end date is still correct.

This march is sometimes played by the Swedish Royal Army Band during the changing of the guard ceremony at the Royal Palace. A magnificent piece of music to march to!

My grandfather came from East Prussia, fought in the Kurland battle till Mai 1945 to help the Prussian exiles to escape over the Baltic Sea. After he got arrested by the Soviet Army for 3 years he walked back to Germany homeless. In Lower Saxony he met my grandmother how gave him food and clothes. For his honour and memorial I listen to this majestic march.

Ich lebe in Kaliningrad-Königsberg. 1 km entfernt von dem Ort, an dem früher das Königliche Schloss stand. Von hier aus begann der Staat Preußen. Es ist sehr schade, dass Deutschland gegen Russland gekämpft hat.
Es ist sehr schade, dass es jetzt kein Land wie Preußen gibt. Dieser Marsch ist einer der besten Militärmärsche. Der Botschafter eines Landes würde versuchen, Kaiser Wilhelm zu nennen, der von einer "Leberwurst" beleidigt wurde :) Würde sofort zur Persona non Grata erklärt.

I grew up in the oldest house in Tuchola - once belonging to the Teutonic Order, then to West Prussia. Grandparents and grandmothers born in Prussia. Today their descendants live in Poland.
There is something beautiful about the simplicity of the Prussian banner. Not flashy or elaborate but just there to get the job done.
