Hey! I've been a fan of this channel for some time, and I really like its content. Thank you for your work in valuing and promoting culture and heritage from around the world. In a couple weeks, the 25th of July is the day of Saint James, Santiago, the national holiday of Galiza, on the northwest of Iberia. I would like to sugest you to upload on your channel the galician anthem - Os Pinos (The Pines). It is a poem from the 1800s when Galiza was experiencing its "Rexurdimento" - the resurgence of a national conscience and unique identity after centuries of castilianization. It talks about a people that long have been quiet, like the trees of their land, but among whom a sound is being heard ever more stronger. This sound is the voice and will of the galician people who want to reclaim their language and identity, and be recognized as a Nation in itself, not a mere "region" of Spain. In this struggle, the women of Galicia are valued as mothers and educators of a numerous offspring. It heavily draws on the celtic heritage of Galiza - bards, castros, harps. In fact galicians are considered to be the children of Breoghán - an ancient celtic hero said to have dwelled in the galician coast, from which he spotted an island. He went with his kin to populate it with celts. We know this island as Éire - Ireland. The ethnic and linguistic proximity with Portugal is also mentioned. Portugal is seen as the part of Galiza that remained free and where the language and culture flourished. The portuguese understand the galician tongue, while the castilians consider it a rustic patois. Pondal believed that only when both parts of the ancient Nation were to be reunited, the fate of Galiza would be accomplished. Today only the first 4 stanzas of the poem are widely used, but the original text is longer. Nonethless I managed to find a version where all the 10 stanzas are sung. I made a very direct, "dry" translation of each verse, so you could understand the meaning of the poem. I also used the AGAL normative of Galician - the version closer to Portuguese than to Castilian. I hope you like it and develop this idea, helping to promote the Galician language and culture (If you need some extra motivation, Spain will held elections two days before, and the probable winner, Alberto Núñez Feiijóo is a son of Breoghán - a galician) Here is the complete sung version ruclips.net/video/2yXHvKSfi-Y/видео.html Here is the map you can use. Since this is not the official version of the anthem but a longer one and with the AGAL norm you represent the areas where the galician/portuguese language is used outside modern galician borders upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/50/Galizaestremeira.png And here is the complete poem with the respective translation: *Que dim os rumorosos* What do say the rumorous *Na costa verdecente,* On the green coast, *Ao raio transparente* To the/By the transparent ray *Do plácido luar?* Of the placid moonlight? *Que dim as altas copas* What do say the high treetops *De escuro arume harpado* Of dark pine needles bent *Com o seu bem compassado* In their well compassed *Monótono fungar?* Monotonous snuffle? *Do teu verdor cingido* Of your greenness girded *E de benignos astros* And of benign stars *Confim dos verdes castros* Edge of the green castros (hillforts) *E valoroso cham* And valorous soil, *Nom dês a esquecimento* Don't give to oblivion *Da injúria o rude tono* Of the insult the rude spite *Desperta do teu sono* Awaken from Thy slomber *Fogar de Breogám* Home of Breoghán *Os bons e generosos* The good and generous *A nossa voz entendem* Our voice understand; *E com arroubo atendem* And with rapture they hearken *O nosso rouco som.* Our hoarse sound. *Mas só os ignorantes* But only the ignorant *E férridos e duros* And the ferocious and the hard *Imbecis e obscuros* And the imbeciles and the dark *Nom nos entendem, nom* Don't understand us, no. *Os tempos som chegados* The times are arrived *Dos bardos das idades* Of the bards of the ages *Que as vossas vaguidades* In which/may thy wanderings *Cumprido fim terám* Accomplished end shall get; *Pois, de onde quer, gigante* For, from everywhere, gigantic *A nossa voz pregoa* Our voice preaches *A redençom da boa* The redemption of the good *Naçom de Breogám* Nation of Breoghán. *Teus filhos vagorosos* Your stalwart sons *Em que fera honra late* In whom fierce honor barks *A intrépido combate* To intrepid fight *Dispondo o peito vám* Disposing their chests go *Sê, por ti mesma, livre* Be, by yourself, free(d) *De indigna servidume* From undignified serfdom *E de oprobioso alcume* And from a shameful nickname *"Regiom" de Breogám.* "Region" of Breoghán. *À nobre Lusitânia* To the noble Lusitania *Os braços tende, amigos* The arms it tend, friendly *Aos eidos bem antigos* To the very old fields/homelands *Com um pungente afã* With a mighty eagerness *E cumpre as vaguidades* And fulfills the wanderings *Dos teus soantes pinos* Of your sounding pines *De mágicos destinos,* Of magical destinations, *Ó grei de Breogám!* Oh, folk of Breoghán! *Amor da terra verde* Love of the green land *Da verde terra nossa* Of the green land of ours *Acende a raça briosa* Kindle the valorous race *De Ousinde e de Frouxám* Of Ousinde and Frouxam *Que alou nos seus garridos* That yonder/wandered in their gallant *Justilhos mal constreitos* badly constricted corsets *Os doces e albos peitos* The sweet and white breasts *Das filhas de Breogám* Of the daughters of Breoghán *Que à nobre prole ensinem* That to the noble offspring they teach *Fortíssimos acentos* Very strong accents *Nom mólidos concentos* Not soft harmonies *Que às virgens só bem estám;* That only to virgins are good; *Mas os robustos ecos* But the robust echoes *Que, ó Pátria! bem recordas* That, oh Fatherland! you well remember *Das sonorosas cordas* Of the sonorous strings *Das harpas de Breogám* Of the harps of Breoghán *Estima nom se alcança* Esteem is not reached *Com um vil gemido brando;* With vile mild moans; *Qualquer requer rogando* Anyone requestsl begging *Com voz que esquecerám;* With (such) a voice that they will forget; *Mas com um rumor gigante,* But with a giant rumor, *Sublime e parecido* Sublime and alike *Com o intrépido sonido* To the intrepid sound *Das armas de Breogám.* Of the weapons of Breoghán. *Galegos, sede fortes,* Galicians, be strong, *Prontos a grandes feitos;* Ready to great deeds; *Aparelhade os peitos* Rig/put together your chests *A glorioso afã;* To a glorious eagerness; *Filhos dos nobres celtas* Sons of the noble Celts, *Fortes e peregrinos,* Strong and pilgrims, *Lutade pelos destinos* Fight on for the fates *Dos eidos de Breogám!* Of the fields/homelands of Breoghán!

From their delectable wines and champagne, their beautiful language spoken, delicious cuisine, to famous artworks displayed in their museums, the French are a great cultural force. Actually, in accurate fact, that 'War of Independence' was lost by the British because of its inept politicians. George III was not, by the standards of his day a 'tyrant'. He regarded the Americans as his 'children'. Which is why, when the American colonists had won the battle, he willingly accepted the new American ambassador and entertained him kindly. By the way, the Marseillaise was penned by man form Metz - nothing to do with the south of France.

July 4th Independance would never have happened if we hadn't come to your aid back in that time 1778-1783 from the British Empire And you returned the favor in WW2 D-Day. Can't thank you enough again
I think the young heroes lines is such a poetic statement, it didn't tell you that France will die freely, no, it says with such strength and determination, that France will stand forever free and defiant, way beyond the calibre of the usual words of defiance, like "you can't kill us all", no, it put forth more mighty words, "Not only will you not kill us all, but there will be more of us, free and determined, and France will no stop until all oppression is eradicated." It's a declaration of eternal war against tyranny and I love it!
Greatest National Anthem in the World and most inspiring one. Most likely a Revolutionary War Song. Pompeous and Thrilling. Fighting for Freedom fand Right
We are all living under the legacies of the Great Revolution. Les ideés de la Revolution française - liberté, egalité, et fraternité - vivront toujours dans l'histoire de l'humanité. Vive la France, best love from South Korea!
Hope you continue to sing it, it's a truly beautifull anthem 👌🏻 If you want, there's also the "Chant des Partisans" a very nice song about the French Résistance from WW2 :)
"Le chant du départ" is not à Républican anthem but the anthem of 1 empire, kings and 2 empire, from 1804 to 1879. "La Marseillaise" is a military march and a political song against french nobility who fought against France.
I'm like a couple of hours late, and it's literally 1AM here but still this is the greatest anthem in the world! I'm not french, as far as I know, but this just makes me want to conquer europe like, five times in a row. Love from a freedom-loving Iranian! 💙 Tremble, tyrants and you traitors!

I hope you like it and develop this idea, helping to promote the Galician language and culture
(If you need some extra motivation, Spain will held elections two days before, and the probable winner, Alberto Núñez Feiijóo is a son of Breoghán - a galician)
Here is the complete sung version
ruclips.net/video/2yXHvKSfi-Y/видео.html
Here is the map you can use. Since this is not the official version of the anthem but a longer one and with the AGAL norm you represent the areas where the galician/portuguese language is used outside modern galician borders upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/50/Galizaestremeira.png
And here is the complete poem with the respective translation:
*Que dim os rumorosos*
What do say the rumorous
*Na costa verdecente,*

Actually, in accurate fact, that 'War of Independence' was lost by the British because of its inept politicians. George III was not, by the standards of his day a 'tyrant'. He regarded the Americans as his 'children'. Which is why, when the American colonists had won the battle, he willingly accepted the new American ambassador and entertained him kindly. By the way, the Marseillaise was penned by man form Metz - nothing to do with the south of France.
