I ended up using a truck pcm and modified truck wiring harness. I did the same 'engine running on the floor' with my Celica Street rail. Good way to make sure you have all the pieces/parts to make it go.

Get rid of the Afm system and rebuild the top of the engine around 150,000 the valvetrain is wore .GM stunk it up with Afm them engines have half the life of a 2002 ish 5.3 .You did amazing work most mechanics would be scared of this one.

@@GarageFab Um well Ah... 🤔. Excellent question..... I wasn't thinking about that when I answered. I've done a fair amount of looking around online and haven't found any definite answers on that. What I have found is. The pin out of the 20 pin plug is different. From the pin out diagrams I've seen (not sure yet if I am right) some wires are in different pin locations/ have to be moved. Some wires have to be move to the 20 pin from the pnp (park neutral) switch on the truck. ( My transmission does not have the external switch). I am not sure yet if what I'm doing will work. Some other changes may still be needed. I will show what I am trying (if it works) when I get this car running and moving. I don't want to be responsible for destroying somebody's transmission. I really don't want to be responsible for destroying mine either... but🤣. Let me add. What makes the results even more unpredictable is, I know almost nothing about automatic transmissions.

@@GarageFab I've seen videos of truck intakes on ls4 cars. Keeping in mind that I'm rather new to the world of ls. Learning as I go..... 2 things I can think of. 1st would be injector connectors. Or injector volume. Would the truck injectors play well with the Impala ECM? They probably would if the truck was just a straight gas truck and not flexfuel🤔. Or use the impalla injectors? 2nd the Throttle Body. Get an adapter plate and use impala TB? Or... May be able to repin truck TB to make it work with impala ecm? I'm not sure. But doing research I remember seeing something about repinning different types years of throttle bodies to work with different pcm's or throttle control modules. I didn't go down that 🐇rabbit hole because I didn't need to😂. I got mine running and moving with all of the impala parts. Then I tore it all back apart and started over. @@darylhutchinson8829 through research figured out the 2006 has a 24X reluctor wheel while the 2007 has a 58x relcutor wheel... trying to find options to not have to go into the engine again but I'm running out of ideas. The cranksensor, Reluctor wheel and ECM all need to be configured for the correct model year
I have a 2008 GXP with this engine. Toasted transmission. Can I bolt this to a powerglide and install an aftermarket intake and carb and put it in my 55 Chev?
LS4 has a small V6 transmission bellhousing bolt pattern different than all other LS engine's it will work but you will have to use a RWD 2.8L or 3.8L transmission out of a V6 S-10 or Camaro 4.3L will not work. Most people don't use LS4 engine's for swaps because of this reason they use the LS engine's out of RWD trucks and cars because they have the same bellhousing pattern as the old school SBC engine's.
Is it possible to put a 5.3 in an 07 3.5 LT?? Been debating it, 3.5 still runs fine but would love to get a 5.3 and build it up with my son over time and install it when the time is right.

06 and 07 are same model years, especially for the LS4 engine the 5.3L uses, so you should be fine doing that swap!
