You know that "noise" they play at the end?...When the host Allison Stuart tried to go to commercial they started with the niose again...every time she tried to talk they would play as lound as they could...this happened like 5 times in a row!!! Gleep Wurp This was a Viacom production, so it was a crowd of MTV vetted people. Apparently they agreed to play the 1st single "Midlife Crisis" but instead did the Fantomas style blasts of chaos and screaming and played "Caffeine" defiantly. This dismissal of the network's demand tagged the group with a "blackballed" status which was brilliant since the channel demonstrated that it wasn't loyal to anything.

    • @Guitarsthatkill
      @Guitarsthatkill 4 года назад +2

Check the link to the special I posted above. Shows that they played Midlife Crisis, Small Victory and Caffiene. The one they bailed on was possibly Epic or some other expected hit. The was one of the most muscically impacttful, charged, psyche modifying performances of anything on TV. Period haha The moment something real broke through.

Pour shame all over us harden into a crust (cement)
Forget the glamour and mumble a jackhammer (under your breath)
Hide your face in the curtains
    Better unsaid, so close
And it rolls off the tongue, almost
The world expects the pose, perfectly natural (loosen up)
Smearing wet concrete and swearing you'll never be (caught)
At your weakest, etched in stone
    And we're frozen here, peeking
    Almost, sweet talk, caffeine
    Make contact
    Up to my neck
    I confess in quicksand
But it's so easy for you
    There's always one thing
Do you have something to tell me?
    Say something
    Anything
    I'm warning you
    I'm warning you
    I'm fucking you
    I'm warning you
    Relax, it's just a phase
    You'll grow out of it
Believe anything anyone ever tells you
    It's not funny any more
It's thing you hate the most
    Nothing you hate the most
    Nothing you hate almost

This is and will always be my favorite band. FOREVER. This video is from the "Video Croissant" compilation. If you can see the whole scene, you will laugh out loud at how the guys from FNM mock the tv host. The song ends and she is about to talk to them, and then they start to make noise insanely, a la mr bungle!!! and she tries to talk again and they do it again! hahahahahaha!!!

uwielbiam moment kiedy Mike gubi mikrofon a póżniej drze się jak opętany! -to jeden z moich ulubionych utworów FNM -mam nadzieję że zawitają do Polski w czasie swojej "wskrzeszeniowej" trasy

Probably the best you'll ever see on here now. There was actually an even better version, which went on for about 7 minutes, but it was taken down and I've never been able to find it again.
This will do for now, tho. Awesome stuff.

4 minutes and 43 seconds of absolute perfection. Prob my favorite snapshot in time of FNM, Patton killing it with JM in checked shorts and a flying V. Killer.

Hard to imagine now that Mike Patton took a lot of flak off Anthony Kiedis in the early days for ripping off his style.... That certainly went out of the window judging by this video.
