I was an average/luke warm Oasis fan back in the day. Thought their best songs were Supersonic and Champagne Supernova. My friend however thought they were the greatest band in the world. He would play them over and over in the car and I still just felt they were nothing special. Unfortunately, in 2004 he passed away. During the prayer service at his wake his wife gave a little speech and then played his favorite song from his favorite band. It was The Masterplan It was a song he'd never played for me. The song moved me in such a way that I never looked at the band the same way again. It made me realize how good a songwriter Noel is and to this day this song will bring a tear to my eye without fail

Is this the best Oasis song written? It's my favourite! Noel closed his Dublin set in 2015 with this song. It was magical and made my night as it was the one Oasis song that I had never seen played live. Magical.
Perhaps it's because I heard this song in my teenage years, years filled with rebellious hope and wanton bravado. Perhaps I'm not truly happy how life has turned out to be. Perhaps I didn't really live up to my potential or perhaps it's just the stirring crescendo echoing the sadness I feel that my father is now dying from cancer. Whichever it may be, this song speaks to me on so many levels. I truly love this song. Thank you for sharing this rendition of it. It was lovely. Thank you.

The thing I love so much about oasis is the fact they have such a library of music. Like they have so many b sides that they would play live and be so popular like this one here. You don’t get that with a lot of bands. When people hear the B Sides, they ain’t really interested
Got told I got cancer a few year back (all good now) but during my diagnosis I did happeb to think “what songs am I going to play when then chucking me in the ground” this made the list!!! Amazing song best noel has ever done only bettered by blue moon rising
