This song holds it's own with any of the best Beatle songs. Noel is a musical genius, so many classic songs under his belt. His songs will out last us all. What a legacy, and still largely underrated in my opinion.

For most bands this would be the greatest song they have ever done. For Oasis, it was just another great track on another great album.
Ryan Fernando it wasn't even, it was originally a throw away B-side. Just watched an interview where Noel said he was asked for a B-side track so went and wrote this. Everyone said he was mental giving it away as a B-side but he was too stubborn at the time to keep it for the next album which would have been Be Here Now.
Absolute Muppet This could have been one of their biggest hits. He thought the well would never run dry.

Just another rip off of, take your pick..beatles, faces, slade, t Rex. Etc. And it's never a single, singles are commercial...songs that even people with less taste than the average, er , oasis fan would buy. That's why live forever was a great single for example, it's catchy. It's to the point. A single in othe words.. The masterplan is an album track all day long. And one that would probably get on a slade one as filler.

He wrote it too late to put it on What’s the Story (Morning Glory). However, he should’ve held on to it (as well as most B sides of that era) and made a brilliant 3rd album. Can you imagine if Noel had done that? I think it would’ve been lauded as much as Definitely Maybe critically. Shame really!
Well there was the Masterplan
Roman Baranovichi. Yeah I know. The issue with the Masterplan was that we’d heard all of the tracks on it a million times during Definitely Maybe and What’s the Story. If Noel had held them back and released them as a 3rd album instead of using them as B sides the album would’ve been huge. Instead they released the overblown Be Here Now.
Few months ago i was miserable, i was sad all the time coz i always had doubts in mind it was a very low point. But then as i was binging oasis i came across thsi song. Throughout the next weeks, i listened to this over and over, it was almost like a person i could rely on when im feeling down. Now im feeling better and i come across this song. I know some of it on guitar so as i listened to it i began playing to it. Suddenly as i was playing the chorus i cried, i cried. I never cry to songs but i cried to this. This reminded me of a low point in my life and how i overcame it, and its thanks to this masterpiece. thanks, oasis.

The Master Plan is a Musical Masterpiece, this song is just phenomenal and the lyrics are musical genius. The video is spectacular. Oasis is one of the best bands in the 🌎. This was released before What's The Story even came out, so I'd say more of an opener to true Oasis. A better closer would be Stop Crying Your Heart Out, depending on when you call the classic years

Used to feel the same before seeing the music video, but I remember seeing it on MTV just as is was released and being completely immersed, gives the songs meaning even more imagery, which is fucking powerful.

No kidding, makes me so proud to be Mancunian in an almost religious kind of way, deep down you feel connected to the city and its culture and history, the football teams, the working class grit and soul; enjoying life despite the mither that may come our way, feeling as though we are part of something greater...a Masterplan perhaps?
